Inextricable

Xu Xingxing felt a little confused on seeing Wang Shunsheng here and she didn’t know whether she should laugh or cry at her eyes being covered this way. After a few seconds, the hand was removed and a man’s handsome face entered her sight. Huai Jing raised his eyebrows slightly and asked in a deep voice, “What are you looking at?”

Xu Xingxing’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and she just pursed her lips and smiled.

Wang Shunsheng arrived in front of a room on the 16th floor. After looking around, he raised his hand and knocked on the door, which opened as soon as he knocked, and there stood a young girl with a bright smile inside calling softly, “Brother-in-law.”

Wang Shunsheng raised his eyebrows slightly, looked at the girl in front of him, squinted his eyes and then twitched his lips. After chuckling to himself, he walked in, closing the door behind him.

After Wang Shunsheng left Jiaru Hotel, he drove to Wenlong Business Club, located in the outer suburbs of Huaicheng. He had an interview with the Huaicheng TV station there tonight.

As soon as Wang Shunsheng entered the building, his assistant Li Jun greeted him, and there was a woman standing beside him. Li Jun introduced her to his boss, “This is Zhao Yi of Huaicheng TV station, reporter Xiao Hang’s assistant.”

Reporter Xiao Hang was the pillar of Haicheng TV Station, and such reporters usually had one or two assistants.

This Zhao Yi looked young, with short hair and fair looks, and she was a little nervous when looking at Wang Shunsheng.

Wang Shunsheng greeted, “Hello.”

“Sister Xiao Hang is already waiting in the banquet hall on the tenth floor,” Zhao Yi said.

“Okay.” After Wang Shunsheng nodded, he said, “Let’s go.”

Suddenly, Zhao Yi’s gaze drifted behind Wang Shunsheng, and his gaze followed to see a group of people at the door.

A total of five or six people came in– all in suits and leather shoes, with the one at the head sporting deep and delicate features and a cold demeanour. He looked ‘excellent’, and was even better looking than some movie stars. As soon as he entered the building, he attracted most people’s attention.

However, he didn’t seem to be paying attention to the others, intently listening to the person beside him. Two of the people who followed him were acquaintances of Wang Shunsheng, and they were considered big figures in the business circle of Huaicheng. With these two people just following the man in front showed how powerful this man actually was.

Wang Shunsheng, who had not seen Huai Jing before, was puzzled about his identity. As if he was aware that Wang Shunsheng was looking at him, Huai Jing suddenly looked at him directly, with a cold expression.

Wang Shunsheng was terrified by this cold look, and just stood there while that group got on the elevator.

The elevator could hold up to twelve people, and after the six of them entered it, Wang Shunsheng decided to wait for the next empty one. The elevator door was about to close when Wang Shunsheng and company walked towards it. At that moment, a hand suddenly emerged and blocked the elevator door from shutting.

The elevator door opened up slowly, gradually revealing the man’s face. He looked up at  Wang Shunsheng and asked, “Going up?”

“Thank you.” Wang Shunsheng looked at Huai Jing. Then he entered with Li Jun and Zhao Yi.

The elevator door closed quickly, Li Jun pressed the button for the tenth floor, with the eighth floor button already lit up. The  Wenlong Business Club’s conference room was on the 8th floor, and this is where the Huaicheng government or the business district held important meetings.

After getting into the elevator, Zhao Yi informed Wang Shunsheng in a low voice,  “I a few of questions I wanted to ask Mr. Wang first, and Miss Xiao Hang will ask you more later.” 

No one in the elevator was important enough to delay his interview. Wang Shunsheng nodded his head and agreed.

“What is the source of the name of Shunxing Co. Ltd?” Zhao Yi asked.

“My wife’s name combined with mine,” Wang Shunsheng replied.

Obviously this question touched Zhao Yi a bit, but after looking through the notebook, she paused and asked, “Mr. Wang, isn’t your wife’s name Lai Shuxin?”

This question caused Wang Shunsheng’s expression to freeze a little.

Li Jun, who was next to him, got a little annoyed. ‘Why did the tv station send such a stupid one?‘ He looked impatient and told Zhao Yi, “Our President Wang divorced his ex-wife because she was infertile and the relationship between the two was at odds.”

“Yes.” Wang Shunsheng nodded with a smile.

“Sorry.” Zhao Yi quickly apologised and wrote it down.

“Emotional discord?” 

While the three were talking, the person next to them suddenly spoke up. Wang Shunsheng felt like he was being splashed with a bucket of cold water on hearing those words. He raised his eyes and met Huai Jing’s calm ones. 

“How did I hear that it was Mr. Wang’s cheating that led to your divorce?”

In front of the many people here, Wang Shunsheng suddenly felt embarrassed. His voice turned astringent and he looked displeased as he replied, “Sir, please don’t believe what you hear. After all, only the person involved knows best.”

Listening to Wang Shunsheng’s words, Huai Jing smirked and commented, “Divorce is a matter between two people, just like how we need two hands to clap.”

“Do you know my ex-wife?”

With a “ding”, the elevator door opened on the eighth floor.

Looking at Wang Shunsheng, Huai Jing’s eyes were heavy and his expression was unclear. “I’m so powerful, who didn’t I know?”

After speaking, the man got off the elevator with his group, leaving behind Wang Shunsheng and the others.

Before entering the meeting room, Leo hung up the phone and walked over, and with a serious look on his face, he said, “The matter in Xiacheng has become clear, Mr. He asked us to return tonight.”

Huai Jing looked at him and asked, “What time is the last flight back to Xiacheng tonight?”

Leo had already looked at the timings, and he replied, “Eight thirty.”

Pursing his lips slightly, Huai Jing got up and walked into the meeting room, saying lightly, “Got it.”
