Chapter 62 - DON'T MIND ME

"AWWWW!" Marbium's whores welcomed the new group in the Wine Flower Inn.

Ironically, they only served one type of wine there, costing 2 birds a jar. DAFUQ! Glax suspected that the wine must have turned to vinegar by now, considering the soldier's wage.

Apparently, that comment about the scarcity of wine in the north was true. He recollected the anecdote about Valosians not knowing what wine was.

But the girls dusted a table and offered beer and fried blue partridge wings. They were the first customers of the night and perhaps the most promising. And luckily, the partridge wasn't really blue, and it tasted good, just like the beer.

Glax looked at his companions and saw their stricken expressions. Even Pydna had a heavy look after what they found in the forest. For this reason, the Valosian preferred not to talk about the matter anymore, at least for now.

"Hey. Don't be so discouraged. We will solve this, but tomorrow. We all deserve a rest. I speak for myself. Since I left Valosia it's practically the first time that I can sit in a tavern and rest."

"What motivated you to leave Valosia and become a krios?" Tychos asked, eyes narrowed.

"The story is simple. Only a krios can enter the Hall of Bones, a place in the capital where they keep all the history of the clan. And I wanted to do that."

"Oh! Oh! I would also like to do that one day! I have never been to the capital, but when I go, I will certainly visit this place." Zotikos exclaimed. He was much more of an intellectual type and Glax still thought about how he had become a soldier. Of all of them, Rhoas was the one who intrigued him the most.

"Eh, I found out that only at one time of the year can the big archive be accessed. Isn't it a shame? If I had known that, I might have stayed at home." And as this was the ideal time to ask casually, Glax launched the bait,

"We already know how Lady Pydna and I got into the Aegeons. And you, Zotikos? Why didn't you choose to follow other, more traditional branches for your family?"

The boy looked away, and said, "Ah, my family had been out of echelian lands for a long time. Because of the war and its aftermath, we lost a lot. I just didn't want to be a burden and wanted to help the clan."

Tychos was very quick and grabbed Zotikos' arm across the table with his huge hand. The younger man tried to free himself, but the veteran's firm grip didn't loosen. Tychos had bright eyes and a winning smile.

"You opened that gate on purpose, didn't you? You are a spy! An infiltrator! You always acted strange and elusive. You are a traitor and you are with the Steam People! Search the blue bag!"

"No! I am not a spy!" Rhoas was still trying to get rid of it, without success.

"Hey Tychos, you are being too harsh. How can you be so sure?" Glax asked, placing his hand over Tychos's hand. The other warrior insisted,

"Non-humans entered Klasidos, for the first time in a long time. It was just this guy showing up there."

"It wasn't quite like that," Pydna interfered. "The guy is clean, Tychos. He is strange, but he's a Rhoas. They are strange by default."

"Open the damn bag. He's a spy!" Tychos snarled.

"Damn it, Tychos, this was supposed to be a nice night, after all," Glax grunted, and slapped away the stronger warrior's hand. He thought it best to impersonate the Champion of Armorion at that moment.

Tychos moved away from the table, "He was reputed to be a good archer, but he missed all the arrows that night. I'm just saying. I gotta pee."

Zotikos sat down, looking down. "I am not a spy. Quite the opposite. I am a loyal subject. My family is loyal! I'm just useless! A shame! I broke the line!" He held back the tears, but his eyes were red.

Kalliaris just drank his beer and whispered to the prostitute at his side, and Alexandre gnawed on his fried wings nervously, watching the events unfold.

"Oh damn. A crybaby. I think I've gotta pee too." Pydna got up.

"Eh. If this is your tactic to get your head into a padded breast tonight, Zotikos, it looks like you will be successful. Not even the girls in the tavern can resist a hurt look." Glax sighed, putting more beer for everyone on the table, but for himself. Through the arched walls of the tavern he could see where Pydna had gone, and she had gone the same way as Tychos.

"On second thought, I've gotta pee too." He got up with that excuse, and left the table for a moment.

As quietly as he could, he went up the stairs and found a good sight of the patio, from the terrace. The rail where the girls in the house leaned out was a great vantage point from all over the terrain.

Looking to stay in the shadows of a column, he scanned the area for the two warriors of Klasidos. As he imagined, they were talking quietly under a fig tree.

He was far away to hear what they were saying, but he could see his gestures very well on a clear night.

Glax narrowed his eyes to better see the interaction between the two Aegeons. They were clearly conspiring.

The Valosian didn't expect Pydna to take out a pistol under her breastplate, which she proceeded to show Tychos. He had no doubt what the object was, even from a distance.

'How unexpected. I knew they were up to something. ' Glax felt a shiver as the strong scent of honeysuckle approached. He straightened up, but the woman stopped behind him.

"Go on, Lord Kroton. A watchful man never rests..." she whispered, brushing a perky breast on his arm. Of course, her nipple poked him, since she wore a thin, transparent tunic on that cold night. Still, it was quite a sight.

'This Glax must have had a wonderful life. Women run to him like bees for honey.' He smiled to himself as he realized that his suspicions about the appearance that was now his were correct.

But he didn't want to talk and draw attention to himself. If they saw him, they would know that he was spying and that he had seen the gun. Glax just turned around briefly to place a finger on the woman's lips.

She bit his fingertip gently, then pinned it between her lips, keeping her gaze locked on his. She wasn't particularly beautiful, but she was certainly sensual, and Glax felt his blood heat inside his body.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spied his squadmates again. Now it was Tychos who showed the warrior something small. It was in the palm of his hand.

And Glax was also in the palm of the curly-haired brunette woman.

"Wow, you're quick." He whispered.

"I always wanted to have a champion in my mouth ..." Her hand was hot and a little rough on Glax's lower parts, and he didn't know whether to laugh at it or send her away.

"Hm, help yourself."

"Don't mind me, then..." The woman bent down in front of Glax, and he held his breath for a moment, before feeling the wet mouth wrapping his penis.

Bullets. That was what Thycos was showing Pydna. They talked for a while, Tychos looked in the direction of the tavern with a brusque gesture. Pydna shrugged, looking uncertain.

The woman licking and moaning while a hand was between her own legs seemed ready to make Glax bend his knees.

"Hmmm." He suppressed a groan that could denounce him.

But the couple of Aegeons seemed to come to an agreement, and decided to return to the tavern. His attention turned to them, and then his gaze caught Alexander, smiling, looking at him at the top of the stairs.

'Uh-oh!' Glax tried to push the girl away, but it was too late. Everything she built in him with her delicious warm mouth exploded in her face.

The boy laughed, the woman laughed, only he was a little stunned.

Alexandre waved a hand, approaching. "Don't mind me, just go on. I just came to show you something."

"What do you mean, don't mind about you?! 'Just go on' while you talk to me?!" He lowered his tunic while the girl wiped her face. "Never do that again."

"Okay, if the Valosians are so shy ... I hope the scare didn't make your manhood run away into the night!" Alexandre continued to laugh. "It's a little bit important, actually. Are you mad at me?"

"Don't be in a bad mood, champion!" said the woman, standing up with a smile. "It was fun, wasn't it? And it could be much better. Don't you want to play with me, the two of you? I know that the champion was just warming up..."

In fact, Alexander's arrival was like an arctic gust of wind coming suddenly.

Glax just shoved money for a 'drink' in the girl's hand, and pulled Alexander aside.

"What did you discover that is so important?"

Alexandre held up the blue bag at the level of his master's eyes, and

at the same time, Zotikos went up the stairs in a huff, and exclaimed,

"Hey, that's not what you're thinking!"
