Innocent Love Of A Deadly Gangster

Chapter 62 - WAIT... IS SHE IS AN ALIEN

After half an hour, Jessica walked down the steps in her aqua off shoulder dress. Her hair were tied in a high ponytail. Steve admired his wife's beautiful features and her always graceful movements. His lips lifted upwards in a small smile. 'His wife was the most beautiful person in the world... Wait is she an alien? Like no one on earth could be so gorgeous.'

"Where are lost? Let's go. Mom will be here in a while." Jessica stood in front of Steve.

Steve got up and lightly kissed her forehead, "I was lost in you. You look gorgeous." He smiled at her as she shyly lowered her head.

*Ding Dong*

"It must be mom." Jessica said as she moved to the door. As soon as the door was opened she was engulfed in a warm embrace. Firstly she was shocked but soon she recovered and relaxed as she hugged her back.

"My daughter Jessica, I missed you so much. Wow, you look like a queen. How are you? Did this stupid brat bully you? If he did just call me I will come and deal with him for you. No need to be shy. You can beat his a.s.s too. Now let's go. We have so much do, so many things to buy. Steve are you coming along." Mrs. Smith made an annoyed expression towards her son. She wanted some personal time with her sweet Jessica. Steve was amused by his mother.

'Mom are you willing to abandon your son for your daughter-in-law. Wait, are you planning to steal her from me... Not possible in this life.'

Steve was planning to ruin his mother's plan when Jessica interrupted the mother-son pair. "Mom, Steve would not come with us. It girls' shopping time. He should go to the office and work. Right, Steve?" Jessica looked at him with a sweet smile. He was stunned by the overflowing sweetness in her smile as he subconsciously nodded at them.

Mrs. Smith jumped in joy. She hugged Jessica's arm as they moved out of the apartment leaving behind a dazed Steve.

Steve came out of his dream when the door was closed and his mom and wife were no where in sight... He sat down on the couch, his eyes downcast, he looked like an abandoned puppy. He was still feeling lost when his eyes fell on a box that had magically appeared on the wooden table in front of him. There was a small blue note stuck to the box.

He picked up the box to read the text,

'Hubby,

Thank you for being in my life. I don't know why, when and how you became so special to me, but I am sure that no one can replace you in my life. We may not have a very happy start but I promise to make my best efforts to make our journey filled with beautiful moments and love that would last a lifetime. This gift is for my soon-to-be husband, who I know will be the best...❤❤❤

Love wifey'

Reading the note, Steve's heart was filled with endless love and happiness. He hugged the gift box for a while before opening it. Inside rested a beautiful platinum watch. It even shined in the dark. With a black dial and embedded sapphires, the watch had a royal and classic beauty.

"I think my wifey is really an alien. How did she manage to get this watch. I would surely treasure it. My first gift from my wifey." Steve muttered to himself as he wore the watch. He looked at his wrist admiringly. He needed to show off this to everyone.

Among all his musings, a sudden thought flashed his mind. His eyes grew sad. He knew the watch was expensive and exclusive but to get it was not a big deal for his wife after all she had a secret identity that was not yet exposed. He was uneasy with the secrets around her but he decided to wait. But at this very movement he was not thinking about this particular thing. He felt as if he was a bad husband. He had not got any gift for his wife. He needed to get one before their marriage.

Steve called his P.A to pick him up. He walked out of his apartment with only one thing in his mind 'He needed to get his wife a present.'
