Insectoids: The Job of the Males

The scheme worked out quite perfectly. Wei Zhuo was completely exhausted by the end.

The next day, he fails to wake up early, and Cheng Zhaoci happily goes cooking.

Wei Zhuo’s face is still blushing when he wakes up, and is especially shy when he sees Cheng Zhaoci, not even attempting to look him in the eye.

“How are you feeling? Does it still ache somewhere?” Cheng Zhaoci tries to return the favour of what Wei Zhuo asked him one morning before; the question almost sends Wei Zhuo reeling from the impact.

With his head hanging low, he mumbles, “plea-please don’t do that again in the future,” he, a healthy, adult shemale, really has trouble concentrating when his xiongzhu was looking like that.

And he was still engaged in a mecha fight! Piloting two mechas at once against two opponents! He’s still actually dazed from last night. If this becomes a regular thing, he might actually shrivel up physically. A grade S shemale overworked to breaking point for his xiongzhu‘s sake almost sounds like a decadent joke.

“You didn’t like it?” Cheng Zhaoci makes sure he gets right up to Wei Zhuo’s face, and Wei Zhuo blushes even harder, “it’s not that I can say I didn’t like it…” since he was also feeling the pleasure along the way. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy it. Though he can only speak in a very tiny whisper.

After Cheng Zhaoci plants another kiss on Wei Zhuo’s forehead, Wei Zhuo gives in entirely.

Sure! Why not?! As long as his xiongzhu likes it, then he’s happy to oblige! Yes!

So thanks to Wei Zhuo’s cooperativeness, the next week between the lovebirds was quite decadent for sure. Well, they didn’t do it for an entire week, of course. Not even the strongest of virility medicine would have been able to rescue Cheng Zhaoci in that case.

Still, the mood was definitely there. They stayed at home, stuck onto each other the entire time, doing everything together, and when the mood strikes, doing something happy together.

They finally leave the residence after a week – to pay a visit to Mr Liang.

Cheng Zhaoci has kept in contact with Mr Liang, of course, but evidently, it was much more helpful for Mr Liang to be consoled by Cheng Jin and Grand Marshal Lu Yao, who are of his generation. Cheng Zhaoci mostly got the duty of helping to take care of the little insectoids Mr Liang is now caring for when visiting.

It’s almost ironic Cheng ‘the Bad Student’ Zhaoci is now the one helping the young insectoids with their homework.

Well, considering Cheng Zhaoci’s current achievements and capabilities, he’s more than capable enough for the task.

Mr Liang’s mood has improved compared to when the worst news broke, that’s for certain, probably thanks to everything finally being settled down now.

Though Cheng Zhaoci hasn’t seen Mr Liang smile genuinely anymore.

“If it weren’t for all these kids of my late xiongzhu, I would not have hesitated to follow after him,” Mr Liang says peacefully, then strains a smile, “life must go on, mustn’t it?”

Mr Liang is infertile. None of these kids are his own biological offspring, but he can’t possibly abandon them either.

“Daddy!” The youngest of the little insectoids also seems to be the most sensitive one, turning his head to Mr Liang with impeccable timing. He happily waves and calls out, “daddy!”

He’s not even at an age where he could comprehend life or death yet; he probably isn’t even aware his own biological dad has perished. When the news that Mr Liang’s xiongzhu and his cijun and most concubines has passed away was revealed, the young insectoids that understood what happened all broke down in tears. The younger ones, like the smallest insectoid, was clearly distressed by the mood, too. By instinct, he sought out his uncle, the gentle-looking Mr Liang. After some time, the young insectoid started calling him ‘daddy.’

“He would probably understand when he grows a little older,” Mr Liang sighs, “it’s probably a blessing he’s still too young to understand right now. When he learns the truth in time, he would probably not feel as saddened as the rest of the kids.”

“They’re lucky to still have you,” Cheng Zhaoci adds.

Shemales and demis don’t have the obligation to take care of their xiongzhu‘s newly orphaned offspring, after all.

For Mr Liang, though, these kids are probably helping him to heal his losses, too. It helps that they all share resemblance to his late xiongzhu.

Cheng Zhaoci spends an entire day accompanying Mr Liang and the kids. When they leave in the evening, Wei Zhuo, who has been mostly quiet the whole day, suddenly apologises to Mr Liang, “I’m really sorry. Really sorry that we failed to save your xiongzhu in time.”

“It is not your fault. It is not the army’s fault,” Mr Liang shakes his head, “he was unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. You are not to blame.”

Wei Zhuo looks back as he leaves with Cheng Zhaoci; Mr Liang is still waving them goodbye. Wei Zhuo clearly feels heavy from all this.

“You shouldn’t take responsibility for every single thing that happens,” Cheng Zhaoci explains, patting Wei Zhuo on the back, “Mr Liang is right. You cannot be blamed for this. You also saved the lives of so many males; you weren’t the one that pushed Jin Yue and his insectoids to commit the atrocity.”

“… I know that,” Wei Zhuo is well aware of this, of everything Cheng Zhaoci is talking about. It was among the first things shemale soldiers like them had to learn and adopt into their mindset. Yet, he feels that he might be becoming more emotional and melancholic after being with Cheng Zhaoci. Honestly, these feelings are not too familiar to him.

Simply living and doing his duty took all his strength already in the past. Now, though, he’s relaxed a lot in life, and he can’t help but start noticing and sympathising with what others are feelings.

He is also an insectoid changed, for sure.
