Isekai Ryouridou
Holidays ① - Hatake and Kimus
The eleventh day of the blue moon.
I finished my work in Castle Town, the day after that.
I was off work at the stall that day and stepped into Dareim's territory.
"Wow, that's huge! It's really nothing like the woods or the lodging town."
It is Rimi-Lou who is raising a shaky voice.
In total, we were in a large area of eight people.
When I take up my job in Castle Town, I don't have time for the next day. Therefore, it was decided in advance to take two consecutive days off from the stall business, so I followed the applicant to plan this tour of Dalaim.
Ten days after the next holiday, it has already been decided to travel to Dabbag, the region of Caron. A tour of this daleim prior to that would be just the right prep practice.
The time is five moments up, around ten in the morning on my body clock.
The cuisine of the inn was served in the morning as usual, and we delivered it to the Inn Town, and with its feet we came this far.
The accompanying members are Raina-Lu, Sheila-Lu, Limi-Luu, Tour-Din, Yun-Sudra, and the escorts Dan-Lutim and Dim-Lutim.
Six of Kamado's men are in Gilru's luggage truck, and two of his escorts are in line for Totos Taru Mim Char of the Rutim family.
So, with the guidance of Raina-Lou, who had traveled all the way to Dalaim, we took the stone streets south and switched paths to the west where the Inn Town houses were interrupted, and the landscape of the Dalaim realm appeared before us in no time.
Rimi-Lou is right, very broad. The extra trees are felled, so the view was amazingly good.
You can see the shadow of a tall, cluttered forest at the end of a land you don't know how many kilometers away, and even a vast field extends in the space in front of it. The stiffened path continues to the back with twists and turns, with wooden houses dotted slightly between the fields. It was a sight so pastoral and idyllic that it sighed.
"Hmm! That's the first time you've seen a lot of land so spacious! Indeed, this seems to be a very different land for Moribe, Inn, and Castle Town."
Dan-Lutim across Mim Char is also a pleasant appearance.
"Okay, let's just step in! We should go this way for now, right, Asta?
"Yes, it should be"
Loosen the path built in the middle of the field with constant walking. There was also no human figure working near here, so there was nothing to be overlooked even when Dan-Rutim and the other hunters by the woods were exposed to that figure in grandeur.
(That's a really idyllic place... I knew peace was fine)
Genos is also far from the hostile country of Mahdra, so he is not in danger of being caught in a war. And guards of the guards patrol day and night to protect the town from bandits and other raids. For the people of Dalaim, only the presence of Gibba, who sometimes emerges from the woods, should be vigilant.
"Oh, Asta, come on, over here!
And as I went down the road for a while, my energetic voice flew from the left hand direction.
It is Tara, who dwells in the land of Dareim.
A little girl dressed like an orange piece rushes over from across a branched lane.
"Wow, it's Tara. Hiccup!
"Rimi-Lou, hiccup! You really came to Dareim!
Rimi-Lou and Tara, riding themselves out of the carrier, giggle at each other up and down. Their greetings are usually "hiccups" even though Rimi-Lou is also coming down to Inn Town once every three days. I guess that means you're looking for each other as long as it feels like even two days inside.
After enjoying that smiling face for a while, I offered my hand to Tara.
"Thanks for the welcome. Then can you show me to Tara's house?
"Yeah!"
With the guidance of Tara, who crawled onto the carrier, I redirected to the narrow road on the south side.
Everywhere you go, your surroundings are fields and no change will come. But there were people around here who were encouraging the harvest of vegetables, and not many of them were a little stifling to look at us.
It is the people of the woods, who do not appear outside of the city of Inn, who are walking wide through the territory of Dareim in a luggage car with Totos. This was supposed to be an unlikely Tsubaki.
For today's visit, of course, the acknowledgement has been received in advance from the Count Dalaim family. As a matter of fact, Polearth wanted to accompany him, but he was very sorry to hear that he was busy entertaining Banaam's mission.
"Oh, I see it! That's Tara's house!
Tara, who had a face from the side of your podium with Rimi-Lou, speaks up.
There was a much bigger house waiting for us than we could have imagined.
No, I'm sure there's also a warehouse that holds vegetables. It's not the size of a one-family house, and besides, it's built with a two-story and bungalow building dressed to snuggle up perfectly. The bigger one was the bungalow building arranged in Marutai.
"Hey, Asta! And everyone by the woods, there you are!
and be heard from across again before arriving at that building.
Seeing it, Dora's father, who bore a large cage, was about to walk from over the field.
"That was a long time ago. I'm ready for tea."
"No, I'm sorry to keep you busy. Whatever we do, keep working."
"What, a little early, but it's lunch break. Don't leave important customers alone."
Dora's father went out of his way to change jobs with his son in Accommodation Town in conjunction with our visit.
My father is grinning at me as I plush my forehead sweat with dirty hands.
"In the meantime, you should leave your luggage in front of the house. Then I'll show you our prized fields."
"Yes, thank you"
We left your father on the spot and moved his luggage to the front of the house.
The house seems deserted. I'm sure they're all encouraging each other to do their job. Grow vegetables, harvest them, and sell them. And the people of Dareim are as busy a day as the people of the woods.
The luggage car is parked along the walls of the house so that Gill and Mim Char can connect to the nearby tree branches.
Then walking back down the road, your father was waiting for us with the cage at his feet.
"This is Tarapa's field. You grew up a lot, didn't you?
The cage was certainly packed tightly with well-grown tarapas.
The shades and flavors look just like tomatoes, but the size is pumpkin-free. It's a little dirty with dirt, but it looks really delicious.
"Uh, it's only a smaller talapa for wholesale to the castle town, right?
"Yeah, but we're only dealing with a little bit of it. You should check with your own eyes."
The cage left him at the side of the road and descended into the field under the guidance of his father.
The field was about four or fifty centimetres lower than the road and the soil quality seemed soft brown. The giant green leaves are lush enough to leave enough clearance for a rinking human to pass through. It's about my knee.
When your father flipped one of those leaves, there was a tarapa fruit under it.
On one stem, actually, one. The thick stem is enlarged so as to appreciate the weight of the fruit.
"This is for wholesale to the Inn Town. Castle Town's in the back."
I move on with all sorts of things, careful not to crush the important tarapa. Around a quarter of the way through the large field, Dad stopped his legs and pinched the nearby leaves again.
What emerged from underneath was a talapa the size of a human fist that I had also seen in a castle town pantry.
This one is closer to the tomato I know in size, but the shape is numb as a dried persimmon.
"It looks bad, but squishing around like this is more sweet than that. But if you wait to squeeze this far, it'll take more than twice as long to harvest, so small it'll cost more than twice as much. If this isn't Castle Town, you won't get a buyer first."
"Sounds like it. Indeed, the tarapa prepared in the castle town was delicious enough to eat as it was. And the body inside was unbeatable in spirits."
I used that as a welcome dish yesterday.
"But if you simmer with aria, even large grains of tarapa are delicious enough, and given the price, I'd love to keep buying that tarapa over there"
"Oh, but it's become normal for us to simmer with a completely finely chopped and baked aria,"
I say with laughter, my father turns back the way he originally came.
"Then which vegetables should we have a look at this time? Is it Aria or Poitan, after all?
"Right. All vegetables are interesting, but I'm still particularly concerned about those two"
"Aria is behind the house. I want to get rid of the tarapa earlier, so let's have a look at Aria."
As I walked, I wanted to see how everyone was.
For now, no one seems bored. Limi-Luu and Dan-Lutim are usually in a good mood, and Tour-Din and Sheila-Lou have sparkled their eyes with curiosity.
Only the look on Rayna-Lew's face seemed reminiscent.
She's had this look ever since she mouthed the Varcus dish last night.
"This way."
Walk ahead of Dora's father to the front of the house, bypassing the building and turning back.
Contrary to the proposal, there were sloppy trees lined up there.
When he wondered if the field was beyond this forest, etc., his father slapped one of the trees flat in his hand.
"This is Aria's tree. You're pretty good, aren't you?
"Huh? Does Aria grow in trees?
I'm surprised, I look around.
Then there were certainly familiar arias hanging all over those tree branches.
And the onions and the like aria grow in branches of trees high as if they were apples or something. This was a bit of a sight I hadn't imagined.
"Heh... I really thought Aria would grow up in the dirt"
Aria also has green, not brown, epidermis, which makes her look like a fruit in the long run.
Or, in my world, there also existed a classification of "what grows on trees is fruit," but how on earth do we classify vegetables and fruits in this land?
"It's pretty brilliant, isn't it? The ones who live on high branches use ladders to harvest them. Those around here are still young, so I guess it's about half a month later to harvest them. You can't eat as small as this, but harvesting too quickly can cause you to run out."
"Speaking of which, it's been about six months since I've been here, but you've never run out of vegetables."
That makes me think that most of the other vegetables, not just Aria, are perennials. After all, it probably doesn't make much sense to bring in my common sense.
But well, if the same vegetables could be delicious all year round, I couldn't even be dissatisfied with my side or anything.
"My hometown had different types of vegetables that I could handle depending on the season. But this Genos has a constant climate, so there's no such thing as inability."
"Right. Well, there's no such thing as tarapa or pra."
"Huh?"
"When the rainy season comes and the ground gets sloppy, you can't make tarapas or pras or anything. In the meantime, grow another vegetable that is resistant to rain."
"Does the rainy season exist in Genos?"
When I asked back in surprise, your father looked more surprised than I did.
"That's right. It rains every day for two months of the year. I can only count the days when the sun comes out. So Aria and Poitan get a lot smaller, too."
"That was my first ear. By the way, when's the next rainy season coming?
"The rainy season starts with the tea moon, so we're still ahead of us. Maybe four months from now."
That would mean I was sent to the land early after the last rainy season.
Totally, unexpectedly.
"But well, I didn't throw away the vegetables in the rainy season either. I'm looking forward to seeing what Asta can cook with it."
That's what I said, and your father laughed with pleasure.
"Then I guess Poitan is next. Poitan is on the other side of this Aria field."
The fields of Aria or the groves were even more vast than those of Talapa.
But that's also natural, given that we buy over a hundred a day just for our business use.
Although it is rumored that it is not often used in castle towns because of its inexpensiveness, even more gruesome amounts of aria should be cultivated after thinking about it until it is consumed in lodging towns and forestside settlements. Maybe the first miscellaneous woods I checked in the distant view were also the fields of Aria managed by other houses.
"This is Poitan's field."
Beyond that vast forest of Aria, there were also vast fields of Poitan.
Yet there, large numbers of people are encouraging the harvest. The fields are too big for the shadows to appear sparse, but it seemed certain that they were working on a dozen units.
"Well, this is another big field out of step."
Besides, it wasn't flat there, and it seemed to be on the ups and downs. Sleepy, thin green leaves grow astonishingly from a waved earth. It seemed that people were pulling through the poitanes in the earth one after the other, checking how those leaves were.
"Something in the back over there is a field that's been cut open in the last few months. See, I told you we were supposed to expand the fields of Poitan with your nobility's arrival? And from the fields I spread out at that time, I was finally able to reap them."
Instead of Fuwano, which has previously been considered the staple food in Inn Town, there are now more houses and shops dealing with Poitan. Thanks to that, Dora's father seems to have made a lot more money, too.
"However, the Poitans to be sold in town have been arranged to be boiled and powdered once and then sold. The aristocrats have prepared places and tools to boil, but we have to pay for the daily allowance to the husband who will take care of the job. We need to expand the field more to make more money."
"I see. Has Poitan become a thinner selling product than ever before?"
"That's what happened. But it's never a lost business because it sells from the side you make. I'm still in the middle of a fight in every house to expand the Poitan field."
And the more popular Poitan is, the tougher Turan's finances are going to be selling Fuwano. I can't even be too happy to let go when I think of Tolst's tedious face partitioning Turan.
(But you also need fuwano to make pasta and udon. If that became a popular product in town, it would also balance a bit)
Whatever it is, it's me who makes Dora's father smile seem happier than Tolst, who is still thin on edge.
So far, I wanted to live up to the fact that the wealth that was biased against Turan had poured into the people of Dalaim.
"Lady of the Lew family, was it Limi-Lew? Why don't you pull out the Poitan if you like?
and Dora's father called on Rimi-Lou.
"Are you sure?," said Rimi-Lou, sparkling his eyes.
"I'm just looking from above the ground. Then it won't be worth coming to see. Right...... ok, let's ask for this one"
"Yeah!"
The light-green stems and leaves that Dora's father pointed out to Rimi-Lou become a scratch.
but it seems to be rooting a lot deeper, and Poitan is hard to lift.
"Tara can help, too!," Tara put her hand up from the side.
That's how you two said, "Let's go!" As he hung up and pulled, a frightening amount of poitan dragged him out of the ground.
Poitans that look just like potatoes are connected to all ten of them. Where they were all dragged out, the two young girls got too motivated to flip to the ground.
"Oh, it's a brilliant poitan. Looks like you could have pulled it right out to the tip of your roots."
Dora's father wakes up with Rimi-Lou and the others laughing.
"Now if we harvest the fruits of Poitan, we'll bury the remaining roots in the same way again. Then we'll have a new Poitan in a few months."
"Funny! This is how Poitan is made!
Rimi-Lou smiled and said so, paying off the dirt on the Poitan.
Dan-Rutim peeks into his hand, "Hmm."
"That's hilarious indeed.... By the way, was Gibba going to eat this poiton too?
"Oh, Giva seems to like Aria and Poitan. Aria, something's wrong with you because you run into a tree and you drop the one that lives on the branch.... even Tino and Tarapa's fields get roughed up like shit."
This was the first time my father talked to Dan-Rutim, but he still doesn't look scared.
"I see," Dan-Rutim laughed lavishly as he rubbed his chin beard.
"It's our job to protect the grace of Genos, but even we eat vegetables made in the fields here in the first place. If you think about it, it makes you feel like Gibbs is taking away your share."
"Yeah, you guys have people by the woods, so we can work safely. Speaking of which, it looks like Giva's damage has been decreasing over the past few months."
"Uhm! The Sung family are now seriously hunting Gibba, and we can hunt Gibba with more strength than ever!... but I haven't been able to do my job all month."
and Dan-Rutim bald his head with a cane pattern.
As he looked up at the giant, his father narrowed his eyes and smiled.
"'Cause that's what hurt at the hunter's job, isn't it? I really appreciate you guys."
"What, it's our job to hunt Giva, and it's your job to make vegetables. If you do your job well, you'll find it in a delicious meal! Isn't it well done at all?"
Dad smiled and nodded, then looked back at me.
"Then it's the next field. If you're bluffing, you'll be in the middle of nowhere, so let's have a look before then."
◇
After that, he toured the fields of Tino and Pra and Nennon, and the fields managed by Dora's father could all be finished looking.
However, the main event is still left for today's tour.
In other words, it is a sight of the Kimmus cabin.
"Because we're only a vegetable seller. Kimmus, we just grow them for our own eggs."
While explaining it that way, your father led us to the back of the house.
A small wooden hut is built dressed to fit into a two-story house and bungalow warehouse. The size is, at most, five metres square.
When Dad opened the doorboard, it was dim inside.
In the dim, something white and small is jumping.
"Hey, that's Kimmus."
Shortly after entering, the walls are circled to the height of the hips. On the other side of it lay something like dried straw, and - there, there was Kimmus.
"... is that Kimmus," I return the insignificant words.
That was quite unimaginably shaped.
Surely you can't fly in the sky. A few kimus are jumping through a shack that's not even big enough.
But it took a lot of time to recognize it as a bird.
As I was told, the feathers grow at the base of my neck.
The shape of the torso or foot is close to that of a hen.
Covering his entire body are short feathers with a texture as flattering as ducks, with loose feathers growing only on wings and tails that cannot fly.
And the neck is short and sluggish, and the head is quite the size.
So, that round head has a flat crushed yellow beak.
It was as if it were a truly unusual creature, multiplied by chickens, rabbits and sea turtles.
"What's the matter with you? You seem a lot surprised."
"No... Speaking of which, I've never seen a bird other than Totos before. Somehow, you're dressed a lot oddly, the one named Kimmus."
"Weird. Well, I guess it doesn't look like a bird or a beast."
Dad grabbed the cream-colored granular feed from the kettle that was rolling at his feet and threw it inside the walls.
Kimmus, who was jumping here and there, gathers in a pimpy and humorous motion.
"I can't do this. It's bait that crushes and mixes dried marl into poitan and aria. If you feed them more Poitans, they will produce big eggs."
Saying, your father put his arms up and snatched one of the Kimus.
Grabbed by the roots just below the feathers, Kimmus makes a kick-ass noise.
"Wow, you're kind of cute!
And it was Yun-Sudra who gave her a shaky voice.
"Isn't that cute?" Father rounded his eyes while giving you Kimmus.
Yun-Sudra received it with a smile.
Cute - I guess it's cute when it comes to it. It reminds me of a rabbit because the two feathers remind me of long ears, and the face is, after all, close to a sea turtle. but he has surprisingly crushed eyes, and his crushed beak doesn't even look like he's smiling.
"If you're so cute, your emotions are going to shift. People in town are eating this Kimmus meat, right?
"Right. But Kimmus is here for the eggs, so he won't be made meat until he's old enough to stop growing them."
"Really? I am very unwilling to eat the flesh of these children."
Saying so, Yun-Sudra was lovingly holding Kimmus' body. Really, it looks like it's going to get cheeky even now.
"Hmm. But it's only natural that little beasts are adorable. Even Geez, if he's not soiled up, he looks adorable out there.... Besides, I wonder if you've ever seen Giva's children, the Sudra ladies?
When Dan-Rutim inquired that way, Yun-Sudra looked back at you wonderfully.
"No, but what's wrong with that, Dan-Rutim"
"No, I've seen them in the middle of hunting a couple of times, and they're little and almost, and they look really cute. If you think I'm lying, I'll catch you soon."
"Yes! Forgive me for that! If love moves to Gibba, I will no longer be able to live as a people by the woods!
When Yun-Sudra responded with a sad look, several, headed by Dan-Rutim, laughed with pleasure.
From beyond that laugh, I feel like I heard a tiny "chip" and a tone playing something, and I look back.
Behind me, Rayna-Lew was pounding off the wheel.
It is a painful face.
So - when I met her eyes, I wondered why Rayna-Lew had turned her face bright blue and grabbed it in my arms.
"Yes, did you hear that one now?
"Now? I felt like something was going on."
To my words, Rayna-Lew makes her face so blue.
"Chi, it's not. My body just reacted on its own - it was never my will."
He whispers quickly with a blur.
That rushed look allowed me to guess the truth.
"Huh... so what's that now, no way, tongue-beating...?
With my T-shirt cuffs grabbed, Rayna-Lew gets fed up with no life or body.
Eventually the face was to change from blue to red.
"Well, that surprises me a little. Has Raina-Lou touched Yun-Sudra's words and actions so far?
"That's not what I meant... I just wondered why that girl was here, because it was something I cared about from the beginning..."
"Why, is that because you're so keen to be your turn?
"Is that girl really that keen?
Still the face remained lit by fire, Rayna-Lew whispered and abandoned.
That's reasonably true, Raina-Lou and Sheila-Lou and Tour-Din, I don't think Yun-Sudra has the passion for these three or so. So I'm sure that half of them are in the mood of seeing the mountain with Rimi-Lou, I thought.
"I asked Asta to accompany me in order to gain some strength as a number. But you can't feel so sincere from that girl."
"Yeah, but, well, one of the purposes is to deepen ties with the people of Dalaim. I don't think you need to think so hard, do you?
"But..."
"Oh, I haven't forgotten about your advice the other day. So today, you're gonna be as careful as possible not to talk to her, right?
After saying that, I made Rayna-Lew smile.
"But, you know, that's a different story, and Raina-Lou's been looking sunken down since last night. Maybe the shock from Varcus' cooking hasn't cooled down yet?
Rayna-Lew chewed her lips and shut up.
I'll slap him on the shoulder from the top of the shawl so he won't be disrespectful.
"I've told you before, you better not think of much. Even I was surprised by Varcus' cooking, and it aroused me as Kamado's number, but it's not something I can do overnight. I guess there's only one way to build up what I can do."
"Yeah...... yes, I know that too"
While answering that way, Rayna-Lew's expression remains unchanged.
So, I was called from the top of my head.
"What are you talking about? How come I'm hungry, Asta!
"Oh, right. Then it's time for a snack."
Today is the day Dora's father's house promises snacks.
Eat something delicious and Rayna-Lew will feel a little clearer too. I slapped Rayna-Lew on the shoulder one more time and then decided to leave Kimmus Cabin behind with everyone else.
