ISSABELLE

Issabelle tried to recollect all that had transpired, that night before she was brought to the hospital. She called for a nurse and made inquiries, about how had she turned up at the hospital? Who brought her to the hospital? How many days had passed since she was admitted there? The nurse gave her a few discreet replies, one that she was brought two days back to the hospital. It was at 1 am in the night that she was brought, and a young gentleman had brought her there. The nurse did not answer the question that Issabelle put forth, " Who brought me to the hospital sister?" The nurse replied that very soon the doctor would visit her, and Issabelle could get her answer there.

About five minutes later, the doctor entered the room, she exchanged pleasantries with Issabelle. She was very happy to see Issabelle on the road of recovery. Issabelle enquired from the doctor, the name of the person who had brought her to the hospital. The doctor only informed her that her case was medico-legal, and at that point, Issabelle should stop thinking too much, she should just thank God and pray for the angel who had brought her to the hospital. It was because of him that she was alive. She assured Issabelle that once when she was more better, the doctor would tell her everything that she wanted to know.

Issabelle had fear inside her, what would happen if her stepfather found her alive at the hospital? Fear gripped her and she started having nightmares. The doctors at this point started sedating her. They gradually had to start Anti-Depression pills and injections to control and calm her down. The doctors were also planning to also start counseling her.

It took a few days for Issabelle to settle down completely. She was ultimately on the path to recovery. A very kind and pretty Psychiatrist doctor started counseling Issabelle very regularly. She assured Issabelle that she would be just a call away, any time of the day or night, whenever Issabelle found a need to talk to someone. She was indeed a very kind soul. Issabelle thought to herself, what if this whole world was full of people like the kind doctor, or like that angel who had saved her? Indeed it would then become heaven on earth. Then no crime would be committed ever on the planet Earth.

She was lost in her thoughts, but she promised herself that she would inquire from the doctor first thing in the morning, about the identity of the person who had brought her to the hospital. Issabelle thought that she would at least then be able to thank that person/people. Oh! how she was eagerly waiting for the dawn, and for her doctor's arrival.

She slept very soon after that. She woke up well past midnight and was screaming loudly. She realized that she had seen a dream about Sam and her stepfather. She had an inkling that it was Sam and her stepfather who were responsible for her state, and for her miseries. The nurses came to her with injections and tablets. She was administered treatment. Very soon she went to sleep.
