It’s Not Too Late To Love You
Chapter 53
Chapter 53: Chi Wan Must Not Die
In show business, eighty percent of break-ups were a result of couples spending too much time apart.
It did not matter how cliché the tactic was, as long as it worked.
As she was about to leave, she bumped into the onrushing Huo Tianye.
His hair was a bit messy, and he was panting slightly as if he was late and rushed all the way here.
Chi Wan wanted to pass by him and keep walking but he snatched her wrist.
She was going to draw her arm back. However, he had loosened his grip and spoke, “Wait for me, it won’t be long.”
He finished speaking and strode away without turning around.
In her heart, Chi Wan scolded him for being crazy. Since when had this fellow become so unpredictable?
She showed up at the set of a TV series that she was currently a part of. An entire day was spent filming a vigorous fight scene. At the end of the day, she got off from work lethargically.
The TV series was not long and only had twenty episodes.
Her acting skills were solid and most of the time, she nailed it on the first attempt. After about half a month, she could wrap up filming for her role and would be able to make it in time for the film’s shooting.
Time passed by just as how Chi Wan expected it to be. The filming for the TV series was completed successfully. In the meantime, Wen Mo ordered Qin Yu to send some things to her.
She surfed the web for news about their relationship in public. Chi Wan also expressed her thoughts to Qin Yu.
Qin Yu said that he would report everything as told to Second Young Master.
Wen Mo did not pay her a visit, which made Chi Wan feel at ease.
Every time she remembered that night’s incident, Chi Wan wanted to bang her head on the wall. If she could, she did not want to see him at all.
Once the film shooting officially began, Chi Wan was finally welcomed into the crew of “The Path of Danger”.
The male lead was a renowned local actor. He was thirty-two years old, an age when a man was at his prime, handsome and refined.
The female lead was reportedly very experienced and had great acting skills, too.
Chi Wan was initially worried that Huo Tianye’s presence would mess up her filming rhythm. Nonetheless, in the past few days, he never spoke to her aside from acting.
She was not the only one who received this treatment. He behaved the same way towards the others, thus solidifying his standoffish, Best Actor personality.
Chi Wan slowly relaxed.
She only wanted to focus on acting and use this role to gain more opportunities for herself.
Director Liu was a meticulous and demanding director. Still, the male and female leads proved themselves worthy, not to mention Huo Tianye, who nailed his scenes on the first try.
Chi Wan gave her best too and the number of NGs[1] could be counted with just one hand. The more she acted, the more it felt like second nature to her.
Director Liu was simply overjoyed.
One day, the crew were dismissed much earlier than usual. Huo Tianye suddenly approached Director Liu and said, “Director, as it’s rare for us to wrap up so early in a day, I would like to treat everyone in the crew to dinner.”
Director Liu agreed to it when the crowd cheered jubilantly.
“You’re so generous, Best Actor Huo! We shall bask in your glory!”
“Yes, yes!”
“Work is done, go go go!”
Since everyone was going, Chi Wan could not find a substantial reason to excuse herself.
The hotel booked by Huo Tianye was located in a quiet area, but the building itself was swanky.
After agreeing to a specific time, everybody prepared to wrap up for the day.
Huo Tianye laid down on his chair lazily. After observing Chi Wan getting into her car and leave, his lips curled into a cold smile.
Once he was alone after a certain time, he took out his phone and dialed a number.
“Lil Ya, it’s done.”
Lin Ya’s excited voice sounded on the other end of the phone. “I know, I’ll make the arrangements at once!”

“Don’t worry, Tianye. You’re willing to do this for me, so of course, I won’t break my promise!” Lin Ya giggled. “I have already let Daddy pull some strings. Later tonight, someone will send the contract to you.”
“Very well.”
Huo Tianye shifted the subject emotionlessly. “Chi Wan mustn’t die, don’t cross the line.”
[1] “NG”, which stands for “No Good”, is a widely-used term in many Asian countries to signify that a scene was not up to par and had to be reshoot.
