“I think we are safe here.”

We arrived at the inn where we were being taken care of.

Seeing us soaking wet, the innkeeper, Ewe, rushed to bring us towels.

“You better take a bath first. You'll catch a cold otherwise.”

I gave a small nod to Jed's words and went to take a bath.

A soak in the tub would warm up my cold body. But I couldn't stop shivering because knowing that my father was in the same city.

“Why is Father here…”

My father is a Duke and the Prime Minister of a country.

It's not the kind of person who can simply leave the country.

As far as I can tell, he didn't have any guards with him, so I can only assume that he came out on his own.

Perhaps he got word that I was here and came. But I want him to leave me alone.

“... I have to leave this city quickly.”

I will leave in the morning.

After taking a bath, I decided to go and thank Jed. I knocked on the door of the room where he was staying and he asked, "Who is it?” so I told him it was me and he opened the door vigorously.

I guessed he was taking a bath too. His hair was a little wet.

“What is it? Is something wrong?”

“N, no… I came to thank you for earlier.”

When I told her the reason, he seemed relieved. I'm sure I've made him worry.

“Umm, thank you for helping me…”

I bowed my head and thanked him.

If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have been able to escape from my father. Just the thought of being caught by my father frightens me.

“No, it’s fine. Rather than that, have you calmed down a little?”

“Yes…”

That was all he said, and Jed fell silent.

This is weird. Normally, he'd just ask me what was going on.

“You won’t ask me anything?”

“Will you tell me if I ask?”

“That’s…”

I can't talk about it.

When I remembered my father's presence as he wanted to hug me, Jed reached out toward me.

The moment I thought he would stroke my head, he withdrew his hand.

“You don’t have to talk about it.”

I can't tell you what happened, even though you saved me. Feeling sorry, I bowed my head, and apologized.

“Don’t mind it.”

I thanked Jed again and went back to my room and fell into bed.

I had a lot on my mind I wanted to do in Arburn, but now that my father was here, I had to get ready to leave.

“But first, just for a little…”

I felt drowsy because of the mental fatigue. I closed my eyes to get some sleep, so I was ready to make preparations to leave.
