Jon wasn't envious of King Crimson's A-rank power and speed. Stone Free could achieve that too, and once Stone Free matured, its power and speed wouldn't be inferior to King Crimson's, plus Stone Free's persistence was far superior.

What Jon wanted most was King Crimson's ability.

Firstly, [Time Erase]. When activated, it could erase time, and everyone would lose the memory of what happened during the erased time. Only the user of King Crimson could react to events during this time.

Time Erase could erase the process of what happened during that time, except for King Crimson's master, directly reaching the result. For example, Narancia ate chocolate during the erased time, but in Narancia's memory, he didn't eat it. This ability is somewhat similar to DIO's Time Stop; during the erased time, no one except himself can move.

During Time Erase, one cannot attack others, but Time Stop allows attacks. This is why Diavolo so liked to sneak behind enemies to attack.

The effective range of time-based Stands is set to be the entire universe. Time Stop is fine; unless it's a similar type of Stand, no one can detect it. Time Erase is different; once activated, the whole world loses the memory of the erased time. The whole world will notice the anomaly.

King Crimson also has a very important ability: [Epitaph]. Epitaph can see what will happen next, and the predicted future will definitely happen unless Time Erase is used. However, it cannot predict the process or method of how the future will unfold.

Having this Stand can be considered having a means of self-preservation. Moreover, it can predict the opponent's attacks in advance, and if you can't win, you can use Time Erase to escape.
