Journey Towards Greatness

As soon as Julian took the mountain path, he was greeted by a dense tropical forest that seems to cover most of the island, if this man-made mountain path didn't exist, people would easily get lost in here.

Julian continued up the mountain path and soon noticed that it was a very hard uphill walk found most people, without endurance one won't be able to go up this mountain path unless one uses a ride pokemon to fly over the forest or ride its back on the ground.

But before Julian decided to enter the cavern, he wanted to interrogate the three goons he caught yesterday night, he told Gengar to bring out the perpetrators so he can start questioning them.

The three Cipher members emerged out of the ground through the dark shadow portal that Gengar created. When the three came out of the ground, their face was filled with shock and confusion, they wondered what is going to happen to them now.

Since they were bound by chains made of shadow, they couldn't move. They only saw the tall man standing in front of them.

How could they forget the face of this man, he is the reason behind them being dragged into hell and getting tortured by the demon living there.

They were angry at the man in front of them but what they felt the most for this man was fear, they dreaded this man, they didn't want to go through the same experience ever again.

Seeing their blown-out face and the paleness of their skin, Julian could tell that Gengar must have messed with them a lot.

Julian took a step towards them causing all three of them to flinch from fear, they thought that the man might hit them but he didn't, Julian took out a chair from his pouch and sat down in front of the three goons and looked at them.

Julian "Tell me, how long have Cipher been on Alola islands?"

Julian asked.

He doesn't need to torture them as they seem to be already broken, but if they resist, he will begin his own torture, they have already gone through mental torture and if he introduces physical torture into the mix, they will break like bricks.

The male who was tied between the two females looked at him and quickly answered. He didn't want to get tortured again.

Male Grunt "We have only been in Alola for a few weeks now"

He answered.

Julian 'Looks like I got here right on time'

Julian "Has your organization found any totem pokemon yet?"

Male Grunt "No! That is why we were asked to get Samson Oak's research"

The male grunt answered. Julian was relieved hearing this, he was glad that they have not captured any pokemon yet.

Julian "Where is your base located in Alola?"

Julian asked.

Male Grunt "It's in Poni Island but the base is still being constructed, the leaders are not here yet, only members of my ranking and below are currently present on the island"

He answered.

Julian "When will your leaders arrive?"

Male Grunt "I don't know, we don't have access to such information"

He answered.

Julian clicked his tongue in frustration, it would have been a lot easier if these grunts knew a little more but it looks like he is out of luck.

Julian has no more questions for these grunts, they were useless to him but he can't keep them trapped in Gengar's shadow dimension forever.

Julian [Gengar, erase their memory of who they are and toss them near the sea bed, someone will find and help them]

Julian ordered. Gengar came out of his shadow and pounced on the three, the three of them were terrified but they couldn't do anything, soon they lost consciousness and were carried away by Gengar.

They will never remember what happened to them and how they got here, they will forget their association with Cipher, Julian was doing them a favor by allowing them to return to society.

He also took away all their equipment so they don't get tracked down by Cipher.

Gengar returned shortly empty-handed and returned to his shadow. Julian then continued up the mountain path and headed towards the Verdant cavern.

From what he knows from Principal Samson's files, the totem pokemon that lives in Verdant cavern is a normal type pokemon called Gumshoos, this pokemon is native to Alola and is a predator by nature.

They are known to be very intelligent and will stock their prey before striking when they find the right opportunity, Gumshoos are completely different from their pre-evolution Yungoos as Yungoos are very active hunters because of their endless hunger which is caused by their fast digestion.

As Julian went through all the information he found about these two pokemons who are the dominant species in the cavern, he wondered if he should catch one but after considering it for a while he decided not to.

At the end of the day, the potential of this pokemon is low compared to other pokemons Julian has caught in his past.

After moving around in the forest for a few more hours, he finally found the Verdant Cavern where he will encounter his first totem pokemon.

As he stood outside the cavern, he could feel the change in his surrounding as the aura in the air got very thick compared to before, this part of the land is clearly blessed and any pokemon living in it should be very strong.
