Journey Towards Greatness

Chapter 1263: Search For The Totem Den

As Julian flew up on Charizard's back, he looked down to the ground and couldn't help but admire the size of the Melemele island as a whole, the reason living on Melemele island feels like living on a small island is because of the size of the town. Though the island is massive the area that people habitat is less than 10% of it.

The rest of the island is just the wild covered by dense forest made of tall trees. As Julian looked at the island from the sky, he also saw the other four islands that neighbor Melemele island.

These islands are, Akala Island, Ula'ula Island, Poni Island, and the artificial man-made island where the Aether foundation resides, seeing that he still has so much to discover excited Julian

He then brought his attention back to Melemele island and took a focused look at it, trying to see if there is anything that stands out from here up in the sky, as his eyes passed through the whole island, he couldn't help but be disappointed.

Since the island is mostly covered with dense forest, he couldn't find anything that stood out other than the dead volcanic mountain in the middle. Here in Alola, there is only one active volcano that resides on Akala island.

Knowing that he won't have any success flying so high up in the sky, he ordered Charizard to fly low and keep a close eye on anything that stands out.

With his instruction, Charizard dove down and started to fly around close to tree tops. Finding a trailing ground inside this dense forest was harder than Julian expected as these Totem Pokemons do live like other wild pokemons.

Powerful wild pokemons are known to be very territorial and have control over massive areas of land and one can easily locate them by overserving the area that they reside in, but Totem pokemons seem very different.

They don't have control over large land areas and they are also known to be very welcoming unless someone tries to get close to its den where it usually resides and these dens are very well hidden.

The only way Julian can come across one would be because of luck.

Julian and Charizard reached a part of the forest where most of the trees were growing very close to each other blocking of the sunlight from reaching the ground, the only light that reached the ground are from the small gaps between leaves

Julian looked at these trees from above and thought of something, this part of the island is very dense, and no one has ever tried to come here meaning that this could be a very good hiding spot for a pokemon.

Julian "Let's go down"

Julian instructed Charizard and made him fly down, Charizard spat a small ball of fire and burned a 5-meter size hole through the tree leaves and then blew air at it to put off the fire, as this massive hole got created, the ground beneath finally got exposed to sunlight catching the attention of many pokemon living in the area.

Sensing pokemons fleeing from the area, Julian didn't think much of it, he knew this would happen as a massive pokemon just burned through the leaves and entered their habitat.

Julian looked around his surroundings and saw that this environment is very rich and diverse so it should support a lot of pokemon lives, as he observed closer, he found that the ground beneath his feet is soft and would be really preferable to ground and bug type pokemons.

He also noticed that some small dead plants around, they didn't die because of pokemon interference but because of the massive trees blocking the sunlight, since most of the light doesn't reach the ground, young plants don't get exposed to sunlight and die.

But there are still some plant species that seem to be thriving here, Julian and Charizard then started walking around and observing their surroundings to find any pokemons, if Julian cannot find any totem pokemons, he can at least try to find a young pokemon with potential and catch it for his pokemon team.

Julian soon started to notice a lot of Caterpie and Metapods around, he also found some ground-type pokemons but most of this area seems to be dominated by bug-type pokemons, especially the Caterpie evolution line.

As Julian continued his search, he felt something, he felt a small trace of Z-energy around him, as soon as he sensed it, he got excited as this proved to him that there is a source of z-energy somewhere near him and it could possibly be a Totem Pokemons den.

And if it is not, then Julian will come across another unique thing that could have been created by the z-energy.

He followed the trail of z-force, every time he felt the z-energy thinning, he would change direction and try to find the right path to follow.

He felt he is getting closer to his destination and on the way he noticed a very rich and colorful environment filled with flowers and berries, even though the sunlight is being blocked by the tall trees, these flowers and berries are still able to grow because of the z-energy in the surrounding

Seeing this, Julian realized that this z-energy is similar to solar power, an energy that is similar to solar energy.

As he figured this out, he wondered if the pokemon called the Blinding One's source of power is a star. If it is, then this pokemon could be even stronger than he imagined, a star can give out massive amounts of every over billions and trillions of years till its death, meaning if a pokemon is able to absorb all that energy will be almost unstoppable.

But there should be a limit and Julian has no idea what this limit could be.

Knowing that it is of no use to overthink about the Blinding one right now, he put the thought aside and tried to find the Totem Pokemon's den.

As he looked at these bright and colorful flowers and berries, he noticed some Butterfrees floating around absorbing the nectar from the flowers. Seeing these Butterfrees, Julian now has an idea of which pokemon this Totem Pokemon could be.

He could be wrong, but he is 80% sure that the Totem Pokemon is a Butterfree as well.
