Journey Towards Greatness

Gengar follows his senses, which guides him to a place where a very fierce battle is taking place.

He looks at the pokemons involved in the battle and recognizes one of them and it is currently being ganged up by four powerful pokemons that are way ahead of its league.

Gengar decided to watch as the scene unfolded. He saw the little shadow pokemon perform his signature move, the machine gun shadow ball, and Gengar had to admit that the little one performed it almost perfectly.

Gengar watched as these shadow balls make contact with its opponent, but its opponents were able to just shrug it off and started counter-attacking the little shadow pokemon.

This went on for a few minutes as Gengar watched the little shadow pokemon get bullied by the four bug pokemons till it was having a very hard time getting back to its feet.

Gengar realized that the little shadow pokemon won't be able to carry this on for much longer and finally decided to step in.

He also noticed the human trainers were also up to no good as they pulled out a glowing blue box.

Gengar phased into his own shadow and disappeared, leaving no trace behind.

One of the female members took out a capture box from her equipment belt and got ready to capture the shadow pokemon.

The Scizor landed another X-Scissor and finally put its opponent on the ground. The little shadow pokemon tried to get back to its feet but was unsuccessful.

It has spent too much energy, and it is heavily damaged.

"Now!"

The leader voiced out making the female with the capture box throw the box at the fallen shadow pokemon.

Just when everyone thought that they have successfully captured this pesky pokemon who has been escaping from them for months, a tentacle made of shadow appeared out of nowhere and swatted the box away.

The capture box flew and hit a tree and lodged deep into it. Cipher members saw this and frowned. They didn't expect the shadow pokemon to still have energy to fight back, except one.

The leader knew that it was not the shadow pokemon that swatted away the capture box. He looked at the box lodged deep into the tree and felt uneasy.

The energy behind that tentacle was way more than whatever their target had displayed throughout the battle.

"Everyone, be on your guard, something else is here"

The leader warned them and started looking around to find the culprit.

The other members also became alert as they know to trust their leader's instinct. It has saved them many times and today will be no different.

The four pokemons also took a fighting stance, covering each other's back in a tight circle.

The little shadow pokemon was finally able to collect itself and get back on its feet. It is still very exhausted and damaged but its will is tough; it is not going down so easily, but it was surprised to see the tense atmosphere around him.

It saw its attackers being very cautious, as if they were facing an invisible enemy.

The little shadow pokemon also started looking around cautiously as it wanted to know what was happening, then it felt it. A familiar aura.

It looked down on the ground at its own shadow and saw two crimson eyes looking back at it. Seeing the two eyes, it got very excited and couldn't hide it. It started to jump around with excitement.

The cipher leader saw this and looked at the little shadow pokemon's shadow and saw the same thing the little shadow pokemon saw. Two crimson eyes looking back at him.

He suddenly felt a dreadful chill run down his spine and his fight response kicked in. When a human is in danger, their body goes into two different responses: fight or flight.

And the leader chose to fight, as this is what he has been conditioned to do from a very young age.

"At its shadow, all of you attack"

The leader ordered and the four pokemons locked onto the little shadow pokemon's shadow and saw the crimson eyes. Once locked, they used their most powerful special attack and hurled it at the shadow pokemon's shadow.

The little shadow pokemon has no strength to fight back or even dodge, but it doesn't seem to be worried at all. It just stood rooted on its feet and welcomed the incoming attacks.

As the powerful special attacks were about to make contact with the shadow pokemon, a massive black void appeared in front of the shadow pokemon and engulfed all those attacks in an instant. It was as if they got swallowed by a black hole.

The cipher members were shocked, their pokemons were shocked, and everyone was shocked except the little shadow pokemon. Instead, it was just excited to see the power difference between those four bug pokemons and its idol.

"What the fuck was that?"

The other male cipher member spoke as he couldn't comprehend how their pokemon's most powerful moves were just swallowed up like they didn't exist at all.

Nobody spoke after his question. The leader, and the two female members, all have their eyes on the two crimson eyes in the little shadow pokemon's shadow.

The leader started to sweat, and he felt his heart start to beat faster. His gut told him to run, but it also told him that there was no escape from the monster that lies in the shadow.

"GEGEGEGEGEGEGEGE! "

Suddenly, this creepy laughter ran across the whole area. It was as if the laughter was coming from everywhere and the dark cold environment was not helping it either. All of them felt scared, even their pokemons.
