Episode 42: Mandragola

There are apparently only zombies and skeletons in this hierarchy. The skeletons are still blurry and dull, the attacks are monotonous, and they look like miscellaneous fish monsters moving in poorly made AIs. Zombies are widely walked in two types: small goma zombies and adult zombies closer to humans. Although we're not equipped with weapons like Skeleton, it's troublesome because we're going to discover us, and we're going to storm at a glance with oddity.

When they meet each other with a clue, they fly off in combat mode without hesitation, so they freak out quite a bit. But Mr. Twin Leaves, no matter how close he was in time, had enough responsiveness and courage to calmly slash and throw away the zombies. So far, we have handled it properly against any surprise attack.

If not for the defeat of the Sovereign, zombies are not so much of a threat either. If we can spot this one first, they can easily fish if we deploy 'Rotten Marsh' in the aisle beforehand and draw attention with Mr. Twin Leaves' throwing stones.

If the numbers are low, just wait right behind the swamp. Zombies jump in on their own and they melt. When the number increases with more than five bodies, the flesh of the zombie in the midst of melting in the swamp replaces the bridge, and some of them safely cross out. Even in that case, survival is not a large number, so it will only feed on Mr. Twin Leaves' axe.

If the number increases, if I follow through with "Dark Hair Tied," I can safely do so to some extent. Like Ortros on a boulder, without the ability to spray fire, in a zombie without sharp nails or bladed weapons, it's not so easy to take off the brunette commandments.

Well, if you have about one ankle, you can be lifted off the restraint with momentum as it is. So when you tie them up, you either catch both feet properly or you turn them to your torso in a glue.

Having been able to hunt zombies in such an easy way, we also completed the endangered annihilation of a considerable number of flocks that had been gathered in a large hall called the cemetery forest, which was spreading ahead of us on the big aisle.

"Phew, you're finally cleaned up, Peach River."

"It's nice to be able to take it down easily, but it's going to take a lot of work after all"

Even in games, we often do warfare that cuts the number of clusters of miscellaneous fish enemies to ourselves, but in the end it turns into mere work. I want to be able to level up quickly or get a strong weapon and get rid of cluttered fish together, I guess, only because that's the game.

"I feel like I could go with that number alone."

"If there's an easy way to take it down, I've never been over it. Be safe and secure. The danger is, like a boss, how can it be only time?"

Because this isn't a game, it's a real battle that cost my life. Safety is a luxury that has no further value. Whether it's laborious or time-consuming, I'll be happy to do the work.

At any rate, Skeleton, of course, can't expect any harvest of the core from the zombies?

"Then let's go. There may still be zombies lurking in the shade or something, so let's be vigilant."

After destroying every zombie we could see from the aisle, we finally set foot in the cemetery forest.

Cemetery, but in short, on the ground of the forest dome, tree branches are just pierced like graves. Pa, it looks like a grave all the time, but maybe it means something completely different.

At least, I'm pretty sure I stabbed them artificially because the branches all show signs of being broken. I don't know if Goma has defined this place as a grave, or if there are monsters who break branches and have the habit of piercing the ground.

But after all, the sight of the branches piercing the ground with dots is reminiscent of the cemetery. Besides, the light-emitting panel on the ceiling here is slightly dim, whether it's broken or saving power. That's how I get the vibe out, I want you to stop.

"... n"

I was walking alert to the surrounding trees while confirming the report on the magic team's compass, but my gaze sucked to a single point.

"Mr. Twin Leaves, stop for a second"

What's the matter, what kind of question doesn't fly? He just replied with one word of affirmation, "Yeah," and silently put me in a protective position on my back. I also feel that Mr. Twin Leaves' movement as an escort has become sophisticated at some point.

"Hmm."

And put aside your feelings for Mr. Twin Leaves, and I stare at certain things that bothered me. It was growing from the root where the tomb marks of the thick tree branches were pierced, the green grass. At first glance it just looks like a weed, but there is a slight peek at the roots of it as if it were a fruit with a vibrant purple colour that is poisonous. Apparently, it feels like carrots and is supposedly buried in the soil.

Now, I'm curious from its purple color, and I look it up in intuitive medicine...

"Plants close to demons, with man-shaped creepy roots. A kind of telepathy, which emits unpleasant noise and resists the eater, the puller. It is a medicinal herb and poisonous herb that is used as a potion and spirit medicine more than in ancient times. Because of its special ecology, it is said to be effective in deeply acting on a person's spirit"

It's a rare, temperamental explanation for intuitive pharmacy that always gives you a throwing description. What's the matter, did you even see it on Wikipedia?

Anyway, I can't help but think of one name from that explanation than the effect of such a whimsical intuitive pharmacy.

"In short, isn't this Mandragola?"

"Oh, I've heard that in something."

Well, only the name is famous. It's a familiar material item in the game, and it often appears in other fantasy pieces.

It has man-shaped roots, and if you pull it out, you scream, and whoever hears it dies, it's a fantasy plant that feels like. Also called Mandrake. With the same name, the plants on which the legend originated also exist. But as far as the explanation goes, it's not first of all a mandragola as a plant on Earth, and the legendary mandragola is subtly different. Much alike, I guess it's this otherworld-specific separate species.

"I think I'll pull it out a little bit"

"What, wouldn't you have died if you pulled it out!?

"I didn't say I was gonna die instantly, so it's okay, right?

It is a fantastic ecology to resist telepathically. I'm also a little curious about what that's like. Of course, as a magician, it is unlikely that you will have the option of not obtaining this herb, which is the ingredient of a fine medicine of the right origins.

"Really? Are you okay? If it's dangerous, get your hands off me right now!

Leaving so much to worry about being an overprotective mother with small children, I turn to the leaves of Mandragola out of curiosity.

"Eh!

Along with the hanging voice, I pull glee. Then I said in my head, "Kyower! A strange voice echoed, like the squeal of a tall bird or of a tall voice.

I see, is this the unpleasant noise from telepathy to him? Um, no more than I thought. I feel that the sound of scratching blackboards and glass is tighter than this. And this, isn't it slightly less voluminous?

"Oh, I'm out."

When I realized it, I felt like a pong and pulled it out lighter than I thought.

"Peach River, are you okay?!?

"Oh, yeah, nothing, nothing at all."

Shake blah blah blah and show off the harvested mandragola to Mr. Twin Leaves with a doya face. I raised it, like.

If you look at it, it does seem like a human form. I can't believe we broke up on two strands. It looks like a leg. Ebony radishes, something like that, right? Well, that's more or less true.

But the area that just hits my head has a round indentation that represents my eyes and mouth, and the overall vibrant purple color, from the bumpy texture, is not a creepy look I would very much like to eat. If it's true, I feel like I can make something awesome.

"Do you want to try Mr. Twin Leaves too? There's another bottle there."

"Eh, I wonder if you're okay"

It's okay. It's okay, uh, it feels like a little cakey. Shh, after all, Mr. Twin Leaves pulled it out.

"Yay, I'm out!

"Oh, how was your voice?

"I didn't hear anything."

That's right, or something like that, where I'm happy that I got a light Mandragola harvest, something strange happened.

The first thing I noticed, of course, was Mr. Twin Leaves, who is exhibiting a keen feeling as a mad warrior, something like that.

"There's something here."

I quickly throw two mandragolas in my bag and get ready to escape at any time.

"Retreat to the entrance. Behind you."

"It's still okay, I don't seem to be completely surrounded...... but I feel signs from left to right"

Unfortunately, I can't detect the signs. [M] Whether you look to the right or to the left, it just looks like a quiet forest is spreading.

Looking back at the chirali, at a point a few dozen meters away, we could see the entrance part from the passage to this hall.

"Run, Peach River!

I don't think it's foolish to show your back to an unknown enemy and get away with it, but I believe in Mr. Twin Leaves' judgment. Already intuition about the battle is more overwhelmingly trustworthy of the Mad Warrior's girlfriend. My reasoned thoughts are second to none.

At that moment, when he ran out without hesitation, he made a fierce noise, and a demon appeared from around him.

"Baubaugh!

And softening the honking sound of a dog was a demon I had never seen before.

At first glance, a physique like a carnivorous dinosaur I tried to draw when I was a kid. Is it just about the size of a human being? He looks like a bipedal lizard with small forelegs like hands and long tails. The body color was gray like a concrete block, and I could see a metal glossy scale growing amazingly around my back.

But more distinctive than anything else, is that your head is slightly bigger. The shape of the head like a square block with corners. A big mouth peeks so that it cracks a gizzard from the middle. Like a squeal, he drips his long tongue like a dog, and his mouth drips dirty.

Giraffed his little red eyes and danced towards us like he was no more hungry.

"It's Gore!

First sight monster, but I know the name. Before I left, when I checked the magic team's email, the information on this demon had been updated.

Gore is a small terrestrial dragon species that makes herds. A ground dragon is probably a classification referring to a type of demon like a dinosaur. A belligerent, fierce demon who is omnivorous but prefers meat and basically fishes dead meat, but joyfully brave to attack when he finds affordable prey.

There is no special magical ability, but nevertheless, with the tough power and agile mobility characteristic of the earth dragon species, it tailors its prey with a giant agate that is incompatible with the body.

Such a dangerous gore, but it was the five bodies that showed up. Maybe he's still lurking in the bush. Anyway, quite a few. Whatever you think, it's not just the two of us.

This is a little, maybe it sucks.

"Huh!

A temperamental twin leaves voice goes up. If you look, Gore, who jumped at her, was showing her belly and flipping. I guess he ate the counter by Knight's second skill, Play.

It seems that Gore, falling all the way down, had not only just been bounced off, but had also been struck by a precise axe, with a scaleless white abdomen cracking backwards and spraying red and black organs and blood all over the place.

The whole thing was done with bright hands, but your people don't seem to intend to give up on this level of damage.

"Mr. Twin Leaves!

"It's okay, Peach River, get back behind the swamp."

By the time the subsequent gore unfolded to the front and left and right and danced in a surrounding formation, I managed to get back around the aisle entrance thanks to all the sickness.

Here is a large 'Rotten Marsh' that stretched all the way to the edge of the aisle, where it was deployed to safely end the zombie herd. This spell is not optional and can be erased, once made, it stays that way. However, when it touches the air, it gets drier and drier like paint, and when it hardens, it loses toxicity and becomes harmless soil.

The poison marsh I used just now is still in the duration of the effect. The red and black waters foamed spookily with gobbles, seeking further prey.

"Yikes!

Cross the critical end so that you don't fall into the swamp. For once, it has been confirmed that this poison has no effect on my body. So it wouldn't be a drool if I accidentally fell.

But that's limited to my own flesh, not clothing and equipment. I was attacked by a slime of erotic digestive abilities that only melted my clothes, and I don't need a service like that. Seriously, the loss of gear is a dead end.

Anyway, now that I'm a poor magician, I'm clear to evacuate to a safe place. From Gore's stature, it's impossible to walk across only the critical marshless areas at both ends.

"- Curse yourself!" Red fever "!

If you're in a rear guard position, all you have to do is cover Mr. Twin Leaves. In the meantime, unleash a spell that can be directed at all gores on a fast track. The more subtle the effect is, though. There is nothing more than praying that the opponent moves a little slower.

"Yah!

After all, I'm not sure if it had my support effect, but Mr. Twin Leaves had a brilliant full swing and slashed Gore's torso.

Now we have two, and the rest three. Mr. Twin Leaves is positioned slightly away from the entrance. It's long enough for me to be able to cover critically with "Dark Hair Tied". At that rate, even without my follow up, I'm going to be able to knock it out as it is - that, Gore surrounding Mr. Twin Leaves, is the only two of them. Where the hell are we?

"Whew!?

"Baoooooo!

and a shitty ambition, and a whole gore pops up in front of the aisle. He went through Mr. Twin Leaves and came after me!

"Peach River, the hell I'm out! Immediately..."

"I'll figure it out, Mr. Twin Leaves keep knocking it down!

Mr. Twin Leaves turning his back here and calling my rescue is not very good standing. The two gores are already as distant as they predict when to fly away in the critical of time, and above all, I can see three more from the back of the woods, four bodies and a newbie peeking into their faces. If you get attacked by that successor group together, even Mr. Twin Leaves of Boulder can't hold up.

So as much as a miscellaneous fish, I need to finish it myself.

"What's up, come on!

Standing on the other side of the swamp, I provoke with a trembling voice. Opposite Gore is obviously on guard in front of 'Rotten Swamp'.

Shit, if you're an imbecile zombie, you don't even care about suspicious bright red muddy water, but boulders are demons close to mattomo wildlife. My instincts as an organism work perfectly and I am alert to dangerous substances.

Ullowl in front of the aisle with a rough snort of humph. Then, in one turn, Gore retreats. I thought you might have given up, flipped again, and the momentum ran out this way.

I'm going to leave it to the momentum - no, his thoughts came to me in an instant.

"Let me!

As expected, Gore was using his tough leg strength to jump. The swamp measures about four meters. Even boys in high school can fly about five meters with a run range, so a monster with excellent leg strength would be able to fly more at their leisure. This means that in 'Rotten Swamp' of this size, it's only a low enough obstacle for Gore to be crossed by a foot.

Of course, if I get jumped over, it's impossible for me to end up in a melee against such a real dinosaur-like monster. The journey by 'Pain Return' is not included in the victory.

"Fall. Whoa, whoa, whoa!

So I dropped it. While I'm still flying, just around the middle of the swamp, I drag Gore down.

That was like a monster lurking in the swamp from the beginning, with pitch-black tentacles popping out. Regardless, its identity is a three-knit 'brunette tie'.

Until I get here, I repeat to my zombie opponents, and even if I don't need follow-ups from Mr. Twin Leaves, I have grown more than I did during the Battle of Ortros because the practice has been so wasted. Longer, fatter, and stronger, tying opponents up.

"Gaohhhhhhh!

Making a fierce water noise, Gore, defenseless as he jumps, is caught by a brunette tentacle and dragged into a fiercely poisonous swamp. There's a lot more melting noise than when the zombies come in. Well, obviously, the volume of your body is bigger than the zombies, so maybe it's natural.

"Wow! Baugh! Baugh! Baugh!

"Ugh, man... stay down!

Additionally, tie the nappy gore with the brunette tentacles. The three newly invoked knitting are two. Bitambitan and severely slapping tail on the water, the other, peeling fangs and suppressing the roaring head. A total of three "brunette ties" bind them to a swamp that boasts intense solubility.

What do you think? It's the strongest special combo I can have right now, knitted by realizing that "brunette bondage" isn't affected by "Rotten Swamp" again, just like my body.

"Bao! Ba... oh..."

They won't break the restraint, there was a battle where it was at stake. Still, my spell isn't strong enough to seal demonic power head-on.

I get a bit of a blurry view of Gore, who was so rampaged up, totally losing his vitality and falling into the middle of a poisonous swamp, from the liberation of tension.

"Ha... ha... Ah, Mr. Twin Leaves Ha!?

Hurry up and look up, remembering that my battle is not over yet.

"Are you okay, Peach River? The herd has already escaped."

Seeing, he scattered seven Gore's slaughtered corpses around him, looking back at me with the look of Mr. Twin Leaves all at once.

Wow, I can't believe I could afford seven bodies while I was playing the one hit of living or dying... after all, the real combat vocation is amazing.

"Oh, yeah... it's okay, I'm alive somehow. I'm not even hurt."

"Oh well, good. Then I'll look for the core."

With a smile on my face, I saw Mr. Twin Leaves starting to fish Gore's body with one knife in one hand, and I seriously thought that I might no longer be able to live without her.

Thanks for everything, Twin Leaves.
