Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening

373 Yursk II : Alien Invasion

The ship arrived into the planet's atmosphere with a little jolt, it was not the best of what we had, but this was meant to make me inconspicuous. This planet didn't have technology advance enough to handle space travel, what they had was lots of magic, so much of it that I could feel it wash over my very skin the moment I got close enough to it. To me it seems there was more to this dungeon planet than I thought, but nevertheless whatever it is, I'm sure I'll find out eventually.

My job here was to sniff out whatever plan the dark council had cooking here, and also to get to know the locals and find out what made this planet so special that it wad the first to come through the merge, and caught the attention of the dark council of gods. But apart from that, it was also an opportunity to train and let loose for a while.

Apart from being an inhabitable dungeon planet that was quite primitive, there was nothing else known. So I guess this was another adventure for me, and I felt like it was time to tale things slow, especially now that I'm a god. It would be easy for me to barge into every corner guns ablaze and demand an answer to all of my questions, but there were too many risks with that. I rather not be the genocidal leader earth has been grooming me to be.

A quick scan of the planet before reentry had shown me that it had three continents. Two of said continents were empires situated in the east and north of the planet, while the continent on the west seemed to be divided between multiple kingdoms that seemed to be at constant war with each other. It was a chaotic land, and the best place for a stranger to appear and disappear without too much questions asked.

Besides with the chaotic nature of the western continent, I believe it would be easy to blend in, and find people willing to part with information. But since I wanted to be kept off the radar, the place I chose as a destination was a city within the frontiers of the continent, there was a large swathe of forests and mountains that I suspected where unexplored lands, and at the border of this frontier there was a massive city that seemed to serve as a way point to the wilderness and a safe haven from the obvious war that was raging around it.

As soon as I was past the turbulence of reentry, I place the ship in camouflaged mode and flew it deep into the forest at the frontier. There was a hidden valley deep within a crevasse, which I might add was also located within a valley in the forest. It was more or less double security so that no one finds my ship. I don't think introducing advanced tech to a society such as this was the right idea, that could be taken care of later, but for now it's best they remain ignorant.

I made my way out of the ship, ignoring the cold howl of the wind and erratic swaying of the purple and red grass beneath my feet. There were trees, a waterfall, a lake and thousands of flowers and herbs as far as the eyes could see within the confines of this hidden valley. This place was beautiful and quite special, but I had no time to explore that, I could just come take a look at it later, but for now it's time to make my way to the city.

I bent down and looked at my wrist, smiling ruefully at the bluish gold seal that spun erratically around my wrist. It seemed like a lifetime ago that I fought so hard to break a seal that made me and my people slaves, now I had placed one on myself that severely restrained my powers as a god. I still had access to them....well some of them anyway, but they were severely weakened and I was left a lot weaker than normal.

That didn't mean I'm weak, I doubt there's a single thing on this planet that could even scratch me, but none the less this kept me hidden from the planet itself and any other divine being that's hanging around. I haven't felt any other god since I arrived, but I knew they were here, they were keeping things on the down low just as I was, what for? I don't know, but that's the entire point of me being here, to find out what they were scheming.

I took a deep breath and jumped out of the 200 meter crevasse, clearing the entire length in one leap that still brought me well above the tree lines of the forest. The city I saw was north east, I gained my bearing and then dropped down onto the forest floor, feeling so at home at the warm feeling of nature around me. I ignored it for now and took off running towards the city, I move so fast that everything I passed had to move or bend over from the intense force left behind by my speed.

My physical abilities need to be more controlled if I wanted to blend in, but I had no worries about that. I could just as easily seal those too. It took me just a second to get through the forest and end up in what I concluded was a major road through the forest, and just in time to find a caravan of cages with forest sprites in them being attacked by bandits, or at least what passed for bandits on this planet.

"Mr. Arman! Forget about the bloody wood sprites, let them rot! Our lives are more important!" A burly man with a tower shield shouted as he defended against one of the roughly dressed bandit.

"No! My merchandize! Never! It's your job to protect me, so protect me damn it!"

I raised an eyebrow at that, apart from the huge burly man with the tower shield there were six other guards that were apparently defending against just four bandits. I found the entire thing funny because obviously this guys were playing the merchant, they probably wanted to scare him away just so that they could take his 'merchandize.'

The burly guard who was being attacked by a bandit did not even have a look of exertion on his face as he effortlessly held his tower shield in front of himself, while the bandit struck it with lackluster exuberance. Even the amused grin on his face was not missed by me, however the merchant, who I suspect to be some sort of slave trader, completely missed the fact that he was being fucked over by the very guards he hired to protect him, it was really funny. At least it was until I saw the face of the wood sprites he had locked up in cages made of iron.

They were far from happy, the injuries on their brown skin was more than enough proof that this entire journey had not been easy for them. And one startling fact drew my attention, and that was the slave collar around their necks, it made me look at the seal around my wrists, and took me back to a very terrible memory, it left my blood boiling.

"Here we go again." I said to myself as I jumped up, aiming for the caravan in front of me. I guess there's no escaping it, blood will be spilt everywhere I go.
