Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening

382 Base I : Into The Dungeon

Walking through the city at night would not have been that much of a problem for me, especially since I wanted to keep a low to profile, but seeing the set of clothes Xaseah just procured for me, it made me rethink the idea and just directly teleported to the side of the wood sprites.

Their eyes lit up with shock and surprise when Rhea, and Xaseah showed up besides me in a similar fashion. I've never really dove into the intricacies of crests and the power they wield, but there's no problems with that.

The crests alone were like a badge of identification, it just had the bonuses of bestowing it's owners/users special abilities. I didn't get a chance to say anything to the sprites before I felt a blast of cold air and a fog of darkness appear in front of me. The wood sprites stepped back shocked at the sudden appearance in front of them, however much to their surprise a hand stretched out of the darkness and wrapped tightly around my neck. The wood sprites bleed them, thought I was being attacked, but I had to raise my hands to stop them, or they would have probably skewered Teluna full of holes.

I shook my head as I hugged him back, twelve years was a lot of time to be without your brother, and I'm sure it must not have been easy on him. I heard him sniffing, and couldn't help the grin that showed up on my face, I'm definitely going to tease the shit out of him about his lack or composure. I pulled back to get a batter look at the obviously older Teluna, Gus grew up well if I do say so myself, but Teluna inherited his mother's grace and beauty to no small amount.

When he was younger, he would be considered cute, but this kid is gorgeous. He looked every bit like a vampire prince, the. Only blemish was the scar over his left eye. It stretched from his hairline all the way to his well sculpted cheek bones. For there to be a scar, he was probably attacked with silver, but even then he still looked really good, with scar adding a sort of roguish charm to his already ridiculously beautiful face.

"Well you and Gus aren't Kid's." anymore I said to a still sniffing red eyed Teluna.

(You can't be anymore right your Majesty) I heard Guy's voice in my head as he appeared besides Teluna. Come to think of it, these two looked even more like brothers than Kodak and Gus ever did.

"This is so stomach churning and Revolting, can we get this over with so that we can be on our way, I miss my sweet nephew and my fire cracker niece. I can't believe I missed their first day of school at the academy!" Rhea mumbled as she walked past us, shaking her head in the process as she completely overturned the current atmosphere, turning it into something else.

I shook my head as I turned to the wood sprites, just as Gus had previously said, there was a trio of wooden golems here. And given what I knew of the first ones, this was probably a mobile storage unit. The elder stepped forwards and gave me a deep bow, I nodded my head as I asked him a question.

"What are your names?" he looked a little confused and then somewhat hesitant before finely answering.

"Wood sprites don't have names, we're a community who's mind, energy and soul are connected by a telepathic connection. We identify ourselves by a recognizing our psychic signature and natural energy.

We've never had a need for names before, at least until now. If the Master is willing, then we will all happily accept whatever new names you can give to us." the elder said to me as he bowed his head full of grey hair.

"We can leave naming the rest of you until we're in a more secure place, but from now on, I will call you Roe. You're in charge of everything and everyone. Make sure that you keep track of the supplies or anything else that you feel we need. Now if you guys are ready, let's head on into the dungeon." I said to him as I grabbed Xaseah's hand, much to the annoyance of Rhea.

Roe nodded his head as he turned and gave some orders to the other's, the funny thing was that he didn't use words, but based on how Gus cocked his head to the side in puzzlement, I guess they were using their weird nature telepathy, and he was picking up on it.

We moved forwards coming up to a temple that was heavily guarded with it's gate tightly locked. There was a massive crowd in front of the temple, probably people wanting to go into the dungeon, but from the look of things it seems movement was restricted after sun down, no body told me about that. I turned my head to Teluna, and his body faded into darkness as he appeared in rapid succession in frozen of the guards, much to the extreme shock of the people who had made camp in front of the temple and waiting for daybreak before they can get into the dungeon.

Teluna turned and waved us over, and we picked our way forwards leaving even more people shocked by our audacity, and as much as I hated it, most of them had their attention on me. That would probably be because I was wearing a bright pink bath robe with motifs of baby angels. I could have worn my armor, but I knew exactly what happened the moment I had called my sword out, these were equipment's that were a part of me due to a perfect blend of technology and magic.

Which is to say, as soon as I became a god, so too did they. The sword was only out for a moment, but I'm sure it has already drawn unwanted attention to me, and my blatant marching through of a checkpoint in a bright pink bathrobe won't helping matters either. But it didn't matter, with how big they say the dungeon is, I can disappear with my people as soon as I get into it, so there was no problem, at least not yet anyway.

We walked past the blank faced guards and went into the temple. There were also a couple of guards waiting inside, but Teluna just went ahead and disabled them by tying them up with his dark element energy. There was a set of stars that seemed to lead into the earth, but it wasn't just stairs, there was also a paved road, those were probably made for wagons. Roe came to my side as he pointed some things out.

"The stairs are the dungeons creation, and using it would get you into the dungeon in under two hours. It's magic so it moves people great distances with just a single step. However the road was made by the pioneers, it's the only way they can transport goods up from the first floor. Using that will take you three days at maximum speed and seven days at minimum speed to get to the first floor."

The difference was ridiculous, but I guess it sort of made sense. The scope of this planet was not small, it went deep and it's floors were said to be no different from the surface, which means even if it didn't have it's own cycle of day and night time it had a freaking sky!...of sorts. And we're coming down from said sky, so definitely it would take people quite a while to transport goods through thousands of feet or meters into the air.

"Well I guess we're taking the stairs."

Teluna said as he took point, getting in front of us and acting as a vanguard. The rest of us followed with Gus bringing up the rear, it was surprising to me due to how efficient they were with it, looks like a lot has changed in thirteen years. Well then, onwards and upwards! Or rather downwards.
