Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening

389 Base VIII : Construction Begins

I sat back watching as the wood sprites made arrangements for their massive spell, we had found a quarry of one of my most favorite and hate materials in existence, the fact that it existed in another universe makes me wonder just how powerful it truly was. We're even lucky enough that we were able to find it in solid form, after all, Ionite is a compound, a volatile and very powerful one capable of completely negating and erasing the powers and abilities of every living thing, Including a god.

The only difference I've seen so far is with my sister Rhea who's entire body has the same effects as the compound, and shockingly enough the wood sprites were able to shape it just as easily as they could shape and move earth, it was weird and it made me realize there was more to this tiny people than it seems. The wood sprites were moving the Ionite blocks and piling them on top of each other, until I was looking and a 60 meter tall and 100 meter wide and long stack of Ionite blocks.

That's way more Ionite than I've ever seen, I've made it a point to avoid the material, space even when it's mined back on Spero, I've never really paid attention to it. But now here we are with a massive load of it and given how close we were, I could feel my power being negated, thankfully I have already placed the rune circles that I needed, all that's left is to place the Soul Catcher Prime Oak on the stack along with what's left of the other oaks I destroyed, and then it was to let the wood sprites do whatever it is they had to do.

I moved forward with Xaseah close behind me, whatever it was these sprites of mine we're about to do, I get he feeling that is going to cause one back of a light who, or at the very least a disturbance that's going go draw more attention than I want to deal with right how. Thing I get the feeling that I was going off track with what I had to do here, the so called, house/hotel/mansion that I was building shouldn't make that much difference to my mission, but I jut had to do I, what can I say, I really love new things.

I raised my hands up, drawing on my energy as I etched the rune for (SHIELD) above our heads, making it much more larger than normal, but while I did so, I also followed it with a common rune, creating a two layer rune circle that formed a rune phrase(CONCEALMENT SHIELD). Just as I finished creating the shield, it glowed above our heads and began to spread, moving and shaping itself into a massive blue and gold dome. It's creation it self cause a significant amount o attention with all the light show it displayed, but the dome completed it's formation in seconds and covered us all.

I shifted my perception outside the dome and realized that it was invisible, it was almost as if there was nothing where we were, just a long monkey road that led up to the base of a mountain and the entrance of a mine. I tired using my perception to probe into the dome, but it couldn't get through. Eve as the person who created the barrier, I could see outside of it, but I couldn't see whatever it was that was happening inside. I gave the wood sprites the go ahead as I withdrew my perception back.

They nodded their heads and shifted to surround the pile of materials needed for the construct. The rune circles I had prepared for them, which was going to be siphoning energy from both me and nature to power the spell. I might have all my godly abilities locked up tight, but I still had a ridiculous amount if energy as opposed to other beings at my level an stage of strength. It should be more Han enough to fully power the wood sprites and build what they need.

I don't know which of them started it, but somehow the wood sprites had bust into a song. It was quite soulful and slow, and filled with lamentations of things lost and family they've had to say goodbye to. Power seemed to sizzle in the sit as the rune and their circles lit up, and I began to fill a drain. Their songs picked up, becoming primal and energetic, the language they were speaking was nothing like I've ever heard, and it had the primal drawl and yip to it that made it sound more than just a language of any common tongue or mortal.

These wasn't even the language of the gods, these guy's every word seemed to elicit a change in the atmosphere and evoke of a feeling of raw untapped power, not energy, but power! The same way you would look at a king and inks that no matter bow strong you are, he still had power over you. That was the kind of feeling I was getting from them.

Their song or rather the language being used for the song seemed like something that had existed right from the beginning of time, like it was the first language of the universe, the prime, the true tongue or magic, of the elements of power, of creation and destruction, the language of nature.

Black like fissures and cracks seemed to appear in the air, almost as if reality was being squeezed and twisted and reshaped. And then a stream of energy seemed to father around the sprites and then the energy shot into the air, thankfully the barrier was there to stop it as a massive pillar of golden light shone down on above our heads, it spread wide until a massive spell circle, filled with intricate symbols took shape.

The shapes seemed like a form of written language, and not any that I was familiar with. It looked like a very weird combination with cuneiform, hieroglyphics and Arabic. I've had a quite a few opportunities in my past life to have come across those forms of letters, but in the end it still looked nothing more than strange gibberish.

Those words were runes, not dragon runes or soul runes, but rather the first! The base runes that shaped all of creation. But how can a couple of wood sprites I saved from a life of slavery know how to use it. Obviously they can't write it, those runes appeared as a result of using a spell, and I'm sure this wasn't something that happened very regularly.

The rune circle broke apart until only the runes themselves were left floating in the air. The then fell down like meteors onto the pile of materials we had gathered, the soul catcher oak tree being the first to fall under the onslaught of the runes. A massive beam of light spread out from the pile, and it was so powerful that it pushed everyone off their feet, smashing the barrier I made into pieces and throwing us backwards like we were nothing more than ragdolls. I felt the power from those runes invade my body and it seemed as if there was an explosion of light in my head, and much to my shock.....I passed out, for the second time since I came to this fucking planet.
