Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening

Chapter 416 - War Comes

Ethernalia Leonis at sunset was unlike anything I have ever seen, with all my years of war its always so awesome to seat on the branches of the world tree and gaze upon the present and future that I have created… it might be a bit narcissistic on my part but honestly I loved the way the sun crested on the horizon. I loved the way my people moved about the city, ships in the air, cars and trucks on the ground, trains in the distance, and those powerful enough or with the capability flying and cresting over dunes, going about their daily lives. It has become pretty monotonous and honestly it was pretty boring, there was so much I expected from life, yet up until now it was just still a steady grind till I get to that location.

"You know you're acting more and more like an old man with each new day that passes, I don't think any of your students will find you cool anymore God King Kael." I scoffed at the voice behind me as I turned, moving near instantaneously until I was standing in front of her.

"Well God queen Asha, I can't help but disagree with you on that front. In the end everything and everyone gets old my love, and even you too. I bet I can see some hints of grey growing on the side of your head, you're getting old woman."

"So what? Does that mean you don't love me anymore, that you wouldn't want to be with such an old lady?" I couldn't help but laugh as I drew her closer to me. Finding moments like this was especially hard and extremely rare, with our schedules these days, just being husband and wife was a s rare as they come.

"Even if a million years pass, and then a million more and the universe fades to black and all that's left is nothingness, I will love you, and it will be the only bright spark that exist in all of existence…. Xaseah too of course my love.," I said to her with a wild grin on my face, as she slapped my ċhėst and buried her head into my shoulders. It was hard to believe that at some point she was taller than me, so much that had changed from my time as a human, to a vampire and now to God king of the most advanced and the most powerful civilization in all of existence. Yet with all of our ups and downs we have been together, through pain, through loss, through success and gain, and now we have a legacy that we would do anything to protect.

"Well why are you here husband?" Asha asked as she led me to sitting down on, gazing at the sunset with me as she fell into my arms placing her head on my ċhėst. For a moment I felt self-conscious because we were pretty much exposed and out in the open here, and we were the God king and queen of Spero, amongst others things as my title of Dragon king was still out there for all to see. But Asha did not seem to care as she snuggled to me waiting for my answer."

"Well I just wanted a different vantage point you know, to see what we've built from a different angle and appreciate the sun set. Ethernalia Leonis is really beautiful my love, a wonder of magic and technology, love and faith…. This really is the Crown of Hope for the universe." I said to her with I was pretty sure was fire burning in my eyes.

"Riiight…. Are you sure it's not because you're trying to avoid one of Xaseah's mood swings? You have been pretty absent when she's driving everyone in the palace insane with her yapping. And you, the absolute motherfucker that's responsible for her current state just keeps running away." I blinked at her, almost at loss for words at being caught in my carefully crafted elaborate lie.

"I mean when you put it that way you make me sound like such a douchebag, but I'm telling you that's not the case, I really just wanted to appreciate the sights! It's not every day you get to appreciate and experience something like this baby, really this is just a chance for me to wind down and relax." I said with a smaller voice than an anticipated.

"Then why do you! God King Kael of Spero sound like such a little bitch! Huh? Am I that unbearable! You bastard! you put this baby in me you fuċkɨnġ ȧss!"

I stiffened, and Asha to her credit did the same to as we both quickly untangled from each other to see a fuming Xaseah with a larger stomach, in a dress, with a cucumber slathered in what I'm so damn sure was definitely blood. And right behind her was the ever grinning face of Cass, I couldn't help but shake my head as I asked her.

"Child! Why in God's good name do you keep fuċkɨnġ with me like this, I'm your father!" I said to her, keeping an even face as her brother peeked at us from behind a huge leaf with a smile on his blindfolded face. The betrayal was even worse than I expected!

"Even you Michael! We all know I love you more than your sister, how could you?"

"You're the monster your ȧss! And that's a lie he hasn't been partial, nothing gives him joy than his wonder boy detective son and his all-powerful eyes! Either way Mama here's the culprit… hurt him! A lot."

This was not a favorable situation, pregnancy has really not been fair on Xaseah as all she has been doing so far is finding one way or the other to cause trouble, be cranky, have weird cravings that may or may not include Orangutan blood and sea horse blood is such a thing exists, then there's the bossy attitude going around the palace driving everybody insane, it was bonkers! If bonkers was a word anyways. I got up preparing myself for the hit that was to come, however It never did, instead it was something else that paid us a visit.

*BOOM! *

A loud explosion rocked the city, and it came directly from the palace…. But not just mine all of the residence of the dragon kings had been hit at the same time, as flames billowed into the air and scream rent the air entwined with the smoke. The world tree trembled as I looked out into the distance as portals showed up, eliminating the peaceful atmosphere as I could feel baleful auras coming off the ships and devourer infested foot soldiers that came out of the portal. But that wasn't enough, there demons and races synonymous with the creation and worship of quite a few dark gods.

"How did they get here! Our defenses are fool proof! We should have been able to notice them coming from a mile away!" Asha asked as she stood up, her aura slowly billowing as she prepared for a fight."

"Honestly I don't know, but this is bad, they're not just at our doorsteps they're within out city. Husband you need to corresponds with the other dragon kings so that we can come up with contingencies. I will rally the troops and the rest of the dragons to come up with a defensive counter measure. If it is a war they want, then they have definitely come to the right place, we all will rip them to pieces until there is nothing left of these fuċkers! Michael and Cassiel you guys should head to a particle world, or preferable Mike straight to your hideout, and don't come out until all of this is over." Xaseah ordered, looking nothing like the pregnant woman we all knew she was. But even with the pregnancy she was a vampire, a queen, and the general of the armies of the God King of Spero, she was a no nonsense person that thrived on violence and conflict, she knew just what to do,

"How do you know about my hideout! It's a damn hideout!" Michael asked as another explosion rocked the city.

"We built this damn city and made that hideout for you guys in the first place, and I may not have birthed you but I am still your mother. I know everything about you kid…. Every single thing! Now get out of here and stay safe, don't come out until either myself, your father or your mother calls you…. go!" it was a sėxy sightseeing Xaseah taking control, but now was not the time to appreciate that side of her character.

"I'll try and see if I can stop the advance of the army heading for the city, Husband do as you have been told and Xaseah try to rally faster and manage the damage within the city.. See you both soon, and I love you guys! So much!" and then she was gone, off to save the world like she always does.
