The Grand Elder replied, " This is something that you don't need to know right now. Now, let's discuss the matter of your meridians."

Alexander turned serious and asked, " Is there any problem?"

The Grand Elder said in a serious voice, " Your meridians are not active. You won't be able to cultivate but don't be afraid, the clan ancestors already devised a solution for this."

Alexander asked in a hopeful voice, " What is the solution?"

The Grand Elder nodded and said, " When the clan grounds had not been established, quite a lot of dragons got born with inferior or inactive meridians. According to records, one unfortunate dragon child was born without meridians. All of this was because a dragon egg need tremendrous amount of qi to form a proper body and get born into the world. One cannot find such areas everywhere so a majority of the dragon mothers were forced to lay their eggs in unsuitable environments. That was the reason that dragons were so protective of their young.

One of the peak existences of that time who was an alchemy grandmaster developed the Rebirth Pill. This pill reforged the young dragon's body to the state it should have been if it was in an environment filled with the purest dragon qi. The pill basically reconstructed the whole body of the young dragon. The most marvellous thing was that he used the most common ingredients to form the pill and the main component was the dragon's blood essence. This allowed the parents to forge the pill with their own essence and pass their best qualities to the young dragon. The orphan or unclaimed dragons were given the pill formed from the willing dragons who gave a part of their essence for the betterment of the clan.

Later on, it was found that the pill benefitted the normal dragon's also. Thus, a rule was made, every dragon born outside the clan who has deformities in his body would be awarded a pill while the rest would have to take a trial to obtain the pill. The outsider dragon can also take the trial if he wants a better quality pill but then, he would have to return his allotted pill to the clan, whether he gets a better pill or not depends wholly on his own efforts. Come follow me."

The Grand Elder flew above the mountains and Alexander followed behind him. There was dense clouds all round them as they were flying and Alexander was bȧrėly able to follow the Grand Elder. When the clouds parted, the scene before Alexander took his breath away. On the other side of the mountains, amidst the vast plains was a massive crystal clear lake, on this lake were large floating stone buildings. The buildings were white in colour with golden borders. There were massive white lotuses all over the lake surface. On the right hand side of the lake , a offshoot of the Ascension range was situated. This offshoot was filled with large large holes while on the left hand side were few large towers and palaces. There was also quite a lot large wooden buildings which gave off feeling of calmness.

The Grand Elder spoke, "The caves on the right is the place where non-combatants of the clan lived. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance. Each cave mouth leads to a separate space created through formations. Each cave has an area of 10,000 square kilometres as we, Dragons need quite a big areas to settle. The wooden structures are the cultivation dwellings of the young dragons. As, the young dragons have too much energy to completely concentrate on cultivation, various calming formations are inscribed in the foundations and walls to make the young ones calm down.

The building on the right are the trial towers and profession palaces. We will be going there next."

The Grand Elder and Alexander in tow, moved towards the towers and soon arrived before them. Alexander observed the towers and found that each trial tower had 1,000 floors as the floors were numbered on the outside. There was a flat stone pillar on which something was scribbled in a strange language.

The Grand Elder spoke, " You see that tiny building at the corner." Alexander's attention was drawn to a large building which was 100 metres tall, standing at the back of trail towers. The building was indeed tiny when compared to the large strature of the Grand Elder. Alexander didn't voice out his thoughts as he was sure that the appariation would find a way to punish him.

Alexander nodded and asked, " What is it?"

The Grand Elder replied, " That's the registration point for the new dragons. This is where they are given their rebirth pill. Our Clan's misfortune has become your lifelong fortune."

Alexander asked in curious tone, " How?"

The Grand Elder continued, " The Rebirth Pills were kept in a special formation which drew the purest dragon qi from the void to nourish the pills. The formations were self functioning and didn't need spirit stones to function. In fact, all the formations of the clan are like that. Its been 21 million years since the clan grounds were shut down. The pills inside were being nourished for so many years. The amount of energy inside them must be astronomically high. Thankfully, the pills don't gain sentinence in this realm."

Alexander asked, " Will I be able to withstand such energy?"

The Grand Elder smiled and said, " The pill was never made to harm a dragon. Even if these pills were kept like this for billions of years and then consumed, it would not harm the consumer if he or she is a dragon. The excess energy would be released in the surroundings. You will only get benefits from this only."

Alexander, " What about the pills in the trial?"

The Grand Elder said, " The pills in the trial are dominated by a single element since you are connected to more than one element, you will lose your connection to other elements or your connection would get suppressed. The neutral dragon qi in these pills would be much more beneficial for you...Oh!!! Don't look so shocked. I have been living for 29 Million years, it was child's play for me to examine your body. I also know that you are not a part of my clan but I still brought you here."

Alexander asked in a tone full of caution, " Why?"

The Grand Elder replied in a determined voice, " I don't want my clan's legacy to be lost forever. I want my clan to be continued in some form. I was going to allow some human cultivators to enter the ruins in order to choose a good successor but then you came and I chose you to be my clan's successor. Boy!!! You should thank your ancestors for this opportunity but don't think that it would be easy as you would have to undergo all the trials which a clan leader has to undergo."

Alexander asked, " What should I do?"

The Grand Elder smiled and said, "Just place your hand on the front wall of the building." Alexander used his legs to move forward. The Grand Elder after seeing him walk said in a loud voice, " STOP WALKING LIKE A LIZARD!!! WHERE IS YOUR PRIDE? WALK LIKE A DRAGON.....NOW, YOU ARE SLITHERING LIKE A SNAKE WHICH IS EVEN WORSE. AGRRH!!! JUST USE WIND TO MOVE YOURSELF. NOW, I WILL HAVE TO TEACH HIM HOW TO WALK PROPERLY. THIS FELLOW IS AN EMBARASSMENT TO OUR RACE. NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, I HAD THOUGHT THAT I WOULD SEE A DRAGON SILTHERING LIKE A SNAKE."

Alexander was very embarrassed after hearing the words of the Grand Elder. He used the wind to propel himself and arrived before the building. The building flashed in golden light and he felt something scanning his entire body. Alexander simply waited for the procedure to be completed. After that a black token and a jade pill bottle appeared before him. Alexander took both the items and arrived before the Grand Elder.

The Grand Elder spoke up, " I will tell you the use of the token later. Eat the pill first and be quick about it as qi would start leaking quite fast."

Alexander quickly opened the bottle and saw a single rainbow coloured pill sitting inside it. His bloodline started screaming at him to devour the pill. Alexander quickly devoured the pill and waited for anything to happen. As soon as the pill reached his stomach, it dissolved and such a high amount of energy was released that Alexander lost conciousness after the exposure. His inherent ability of adaptibility started working overtime to adapt to such massive amount of energy and consumed all the magic and king's might to make his body capable of withstanding and absorbing the energy.

GRAND ELDER's P.OV.:

I watched as the young dragon fainted due to the tremendrous amount of energy contained in the pill. Surprisingly, no energy got leaked out from the child's body. Slowly a rainbow coloured energy formed a coccon around the child which then solidified into a solid egg. It was frankly the biggest dragon egg she had seen in her entire existence. I could not help but speak out, " He will probably grow up to become the biggest dragon of the myriad realms but whether he would be powerful or not is yet to be seen."
