Valentine's Short Story: The Bitter & Sweet Day

February 14th.

Valentine's Day.

The day when Valentinus, a Christian priest who was active around the third century A.D., was executed.

Although in the Roman Empire at the time the marriage of the soldiers was forbidden for fear of lower morale among the warriors (the policy against free marriage), Valentinus carried out the wedding against the ban.

When the act touched the wrath of the Roman Emperor Claudius II of Time, Valentinus was captured and executed. There are powerful theories but theories that it was a hanging............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

"Stop, Lisa. Wait a minute, stay."

"What's wrong, Alice?

Confused Alice blocked Lisa from explaining Valentine's Day.

By the way, the two of you are currently in the kitchen of the Demon King's Restaurant.

Today, the Demon King is on business at the Demon King's Castle in the Demon Realm, rarely absent.

"How can you be talking about giving chocolate to the Demon King?

Naturally, this world does not exist, such as festivals about Christianity and its saints. Lisa tried to give Alice an overview of the event from scratch, but anything is too detailed.

After this, we planned to give a close account of our development as a festival in the Western European region to this day, propagation and change to Japan… we decided to reschedule and communicate it in a significant summary.

"Uh... there's a lot going on, and that day is now the day for a girl to give chocolate to someone she likes"

"I don't know what the hell is going to happen, sappy, but I get it."

The day of martyrdom of Saint Valentinus, considered the patron saint of the lovers, is in modern times a day of giving gifts to the willing counterpart.

In Japan, which is not a Christian area, for some reason women are considered to be the giver, and gifts are also limited to chocolate, but there is no such decision in particular by nature (for the record, White Day, an event of return, is still historically a new event, created by the Japanese confectionery industry in the 1940s).

"I see, so let's make chocolate sweets together and give them to the Demon King."

"Yeah, why don't you come with me if you like. And..."

"And?"

Lisa said so a little awkwardly.

"When I try to make sweets at home this time of year, my father is having a lot of trouble..."

Lisa cooking at home is a daily sight, but the circumstances vary slightly during the first half of February each year.

Every time Lisa tries to make something, she puts in a subtle exploration so that her precious daughter doesn't have a bad bug attached to her, or even though she's not particularly busy, she tries to ask for money to keep her away from the kitchen, and Lisa's father makes a tearful effort.

For what it's worth, Lisa has never even given step-chocolate to a man other than her father and grandfather in her previous life. Even the so-called friend chocolate among friends was so sneaky to buy a ready-made product and give it to them so they wouldn't find out. Well, until now, I haven't had anyone who wants to give me chocolate since I couldn't, so I haven't had any major problems.

But things are different this year.

I had someone I liked, and at the end of last year, I even confessed.

The reply from the Demon King is still pending, but as for Lisa, we can't ignore the appeal chance at the corner.

It's unclear how effective Valentine's Chocolate will be on otherworldly opponents, but I'm sure the Demon King won't feel bad about being given a treat either.

"So, let me use the kitchen here."

Yeah, of course it's fine.

When it comes to where to make chocolate, there's nothing wrong with using the kitchen in this demon king's shop. We also have most of the materials and equipment.

"So, even when it comes to chocolate treats, there's a variety, but what do you decide to make?

Whether you go for a bite with chocolate treats, there are countless types of them.

The taste of an adult with alcohol.

A flavorful object with nuts and dried fruit.

Gato chocolate or fondant chocolate.

Raw chocolate in truffles.

Chocolate flavoured pudding and ice cream are also nice.

"Thought I'd use this this one this time"

"This is... a little different from orange, isn't it?

"It's called Iyo Kaoru."

Lisa took it out of the paper bag she had just now is the seasonal Iyo citrus.

Features include mild acidity and easy to eat, thick skins and good aromas.

It would be perfect to use for a Valentine's gift, as it is also said to be well-connected by turning from the discourse between "Iyoshi" and "good hunch".

"Now I'm going to be like Chocolate Orange."

"I see, that's a good idea"

Chocolate Orange is a type of chocolate confection made from orange.

This dish involves chocolate on dried orange zest (peel) and pulp, and has a spilled appearance and a refreshing flavour and bitterness of citrus.

This time Lisa was thinking about making it out of Iyo citrus, not orange. If you want to name it, it's not Chocolate Orange. "Chocolate Iyo Citrus"...... is something like "Iyo Citrus Chocolate" because it's a little bad to talk about?

"So, do you want to get started"

This time I'll start where I dry the raw Iyo citrus, but the procedure is surprisingly simple.

First cut the water-washed fruit into rounds about 5 mm wide and remove the seeds at the same time.

The 5mm thickness may actually feel thick if you look at it, but if you let it dry on a later itinerary, it will drain moisture and shrink all at once, so it's fine.

That's how I transfer the chopped Iyo citrus into a pan and boil it.

Add the water to the bottom of the pan to the extent that the Iyo citrus laid down hives and bring to a boil, then simmer and discard the water after about enough. Repeat that three times for extra ac and clutter to fall out.

Once that's done with the three boiling spills, now add plenty of sugar with the water and simmer the cottonseed over a low heat of thirty to forty minutes. By the time you stop the fire, the yellow part of the skin should be transparent.

That's how Iyo citrus boiled in sugar is arranged on the ceiling, placed in an oven at low temperatures around 100°C, and when the moisture flies, the bottom is ready. Overall, it shrunk thin and small to make it just the easiest size to eat.

"And then you're done entangling chocolate."

If you're an authentic pastry chef, you'll do it from where you roast and grind cocoa beans, but this time it's just an easy specification to melt the chocolate in the vault.

When it comes to doing the basics of chocolate making in earnest, you have to have strict room temperature control that doesn't even allow a few degrees Celsius discrepancies, which is quite difficult. No matter how much free time I had, there was something tough to do in the kitchen that was open.

"I'm going to make corners, and I'm going to make some white and matcha tea,"

"Nice, looks delicious"

Matcha, white, tea, coffee and rum as well as orthodox bitter chocolate.

If you mix a variety of white chocolates with a base that doesn't contain cocoa mass, you can make a variety of flavored chocolates.

Prepare some smaller bowls, add the hot chocolate and ingredients that will be ingredients of all kinds of flavors, as well as a small amount of raw cream and mix in with the wood bella, tangled in the dong and the earlier Iyo citrus.

Chocolate will look and taste better balanced when it is sappily tangled only on one side, rather than fully sticking to it. All you have to do is cool and solidify in the freezer and you're done.

I never even tried Lisa to see if it would fit Iyo citrus, but citrus goes well with most ingredients, and I'm sure it will taste better.

The two made as many varieties as they could think of and decided to give it a taste.

"Alice. Yes, uh"

"Thanks for this...... yeah, you look good, do you taste like tea? Okay, in return for this one."

"Wow, thanks. Yeah, White's pretty good too."

Iyo citrus bitterness and refreshing flavors go well with every chocolate.

It's supposed to taste, but this is going to stick too much to eat.

"Lamb flavors are delicious."

"These matcha flavors are delicious too."

There was a good amount of the original Iyo citrus, so there are nearly ten sheets for each flavor. So I don't have a problem with a little bit of tasting...... I shouldn't have had a problem.

Hiya, pussy.

Hiya, pussy.

Seriously very well made, I never get tired of it because of the many different flavors, and I can stick with the other one, the other one and reach out.

"Taste is important."

"Yeah, you're right. Oh, you make tea."

It's no longer entirely a tea party flair.

If you were also a visitor along the way, you would have had the opportunity to return to sanity, but only at a time like this, no one would come, and Valentine's original purpose was no longer beautifully forgotten.

And roughly an hour later.

"I'm home."

"" Ah. "

Seeing the returning Demon King, Alice and Lisa pronounce "ah" at exactly the same time, while dropping their gaze on the confectionery dish in front of them.

Luckily, I hadn't eaten up the critical yet.

All that was left was three more pieces, but it's safe for once. Maybe.

"Welcome back, Demon King..."

"Oh, good job......"

Alice and Lisa do so in great awkwardness.

After tasting the chocolate we made with the intention of giving it to the Demon King, we ate the majority of it ourselves because it was so delicious... there is no way we can say that.

"Hmm?"

The Demon King was leaning his neck against the suspicious behavior of the two, but soon noticed a slight remaining Iyo Citrus chocolate on the plate.

"Heh, I made sweets. Can I have one, too?

"Yeah, of course..."

Anyway, that's what it was originally all about.

I've lost over 90% on tastings, but that's something the Demon King has no reason to know.

When he carries one of the three pieces left in his mouth,

"Ah, delicious"

The special Iyo citrus chocolate also seems to fit the Demon King's mouth.

He accidentally reached for two, three and went on, and the remaining confectionery plates were completely emptied.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I ate it alone."

Unaware of the circumstances, the Demon King apologized at first sight, but Alice and Lisa felt much relieved that the Demon King liked what they had made around the corner (and didn't have to eat it up on their own where it was at stake).

"No, never mind, Demon King."

"Yes, more than anything if you were happy that way. I'll make it again."

"Yeah? Then I guess I'll make it with you this time."

Thus it turned out much different from the original plans, but soon I could also promise to make sweets with the Demon King, and the pompous flavored maidens of love had a grin of relief with Nico.
