Lady Boss Of The Unpopular Dungeon

Chapter 13 - A New Look for Alexa and Astral Descent Part 3

An immense wave of sadness settled over the master bedroom as the small blonde snake girl started crying her eyes out after bringing up tragic memories frost Astral Descent's past. As Una made an effort to to stop her tears by squeezing her eyes shut, she felt two arms wrap around her and pull her into a comforting hug. Una opened her big blue eyes to find Alexa and Rune giving her a hug to make her feel better. As soon as the hug was over, Alexa looked Una in the eye and began speaking to her in a serious tone "Una, I promise that I will do whatever it takes to make Astral Descent a place where you safe and happy. I also promise to undo every single bit of damage that the previous dungeon master had caused to it."

Una's tears soon stopped and a small smile soon grace her sweet face. In a small and fragile sounding voice, she said thank you and sat down on the couch in order to relax from her earlier crying fit. Alexa took a deep breath and used the enchanted mirror to access the Dungeon System again in order to start reorganizing the dungeon into a layout that had the potential to be exciting and more fun for both visiting adventurers and future monster residents. Alexa took a long look at the new trap rooms that she had purchased with the Dungeon System and began arranging them. According to the Dungeon System, one room in a dungeon counted as a level, as long as a person could clear the room's challenge, they could move on to the next level. Another fun fact that the Dungeon System informed Alexa about was when an adventurer in the dungeon was defeated, they would be transported to the entrance of the dungeon without permanent injury.

The first trap room that Alexa selected was one that contained enchanted vines that went after anything that displayed movement and would release it's captives when they either stopped moving or until it had crushed them. As long as adventurers moved carefully, they could reach the door that lead to the next room. The next trap that Alexa set up was a classic arrow trap in which comprised of a narrow hallway that had carved tiles on the floor and if someone stepped on the wrong tile, that person would quickly become a arrow pin cushion. The next room that Alexa had set up was a room that had been laced with a powerful illusion that trapped adventurers in a dense fog that would make them wonder around in endless circles unless someone destroyed the illusion seal that had the form of a dead tree. It was then that Alexa decided to set up room to serve as rest area that adventurers could use to either transport themselves back to the entrance of the dungeon or or take a chance to rest before challenging the rest of the dungeon. It was then that Alexa began to input some creativity in her dungeon layout by placing a labyrinth as the next challenge for any person that wanted test their skills against the new and improved Astral Descent. The labyrinth could be escaped by two different doors, one lead to a room that tested the intellect of the of adventurers by asking them a riddle and if they answered incorrectly, they would be force to fight a powerful monster. The other room lead to a room where the strength of an adventurer would be challenged in a room that had been enchanted to make ninety-nine replicas of a chosen guardian monster to relentlessly attack any adventurer that stepped foot in the room. After these two rooms were beaten, all that was left was final room where adventurers would fight either the dungeon master or a powerful monster.

Alexa paused at the thought of having to fight against trained adventurers when she had only been the dungeon master of Astral Descent for only two days. Feeling worried, Alexa turned to Rune and Una for their opinion on the matter. "Hey guys, I don't know how I'm going to be able to fight any adventurers that challenge Astral Descent. Please tell me that you guys have a plan for this." Una and Rune both gave Alexa a reassuring smile and Rune began explaining "Just relax, Boss. Momma told me that as soon you felt ready to start your dungeon master training, you and I would travel to the village of Starfall to meet an old friend of hers." After hearing this new information, Alexa felt more at ease in performing her future duties as a dungeon master. Alexa then turned her attention to finalizing her new changes to the dungeon by selecting the reward for clearing the dungeon which was to be 25 golden coins from the enormous pile of loot that the founder of Astral Descent had left her.

When she was finally done redesigning the layout of Astral Descent, Alexa began to use the Dungeon System to make some much needed changes to the master room that she was sharing with her new friends. In order to be able to better accommodate Rune and Una so that they could rest in comfort, two of the three additional spaces that she purchased with the Dungeon System were going to be turned into personal areas for them. Alexa went right to work designing the areas for Rune and Una as she kept making glances and smiling. After some time, she finally finished and then went to work the other new addition for the room. Alexa thought back to her home on earth and remembered found memories of cooking with her family at the cafe that they had run back on earth and began to create this new area in hopes that she could create similar memories with Rune, Una, and any other new monster that joined her new family in Astrea. Just as she was about to finalize the finishing touches on the new areas of the bedroom, some sort of alarm suddenly began ringing out of the enchanted mirror, constantly repeating the same phrase, "INTRUDER, INTRUDER"
