Lady Misfortune: Daddy, I'll Be A Righteous Villainess!

Chapter 90 - No To Cheesy Teen Romance

'This. Is. Absolutely. Insane,' was what Lady had been thinking that whole time.

Just when she thought that something has finally gone in accordance with the plot, she was suddenly given this steamy make-out session that's just bordering Rated X. Things have escalated so quickly. None of this was even supposed to happen in any part of the story since its main focus lay on family and friendships – not on some cheesy teen romance meant for sixteen-year-olds.

When Sarah inched closer and kissed Orion on the lips, Lady and Weiss immediately covered each other's eyes with their hands.

"The heck is going on, Weiss?!"

"I should be the one asking that."

"They're not supposed to do that!"

"Well, they're doing it now."

"But why?!"

"No idea."

"This is way too early! We must stop them!"

"And get busted out for eavesdropping?!"

"I can't just let them be! They're still babies!"

"No, don't go there, Lady!"

From covering each other's eyes to holding each other down, the two ended up wrestling on the ground. One wanted to ruin what looked like a perfectly romantic moment while the other wanted to just tie her up in one spot and keep her from doing what he was sure a stupid idea. As they continue on with this physical struggle, they haven't realized they're already rolling further and further away from the bushes.

Soon enough, both of them found themselves tumbling all the way down the hill and into the field of dandelions.

"At this rate, they're really gonna see us!" Weiss cried out as he finally managed to top Lady and pin her down.

He's relieved that there are grasses and flowers everywhere to serve as cushions when they fell down. Just to make sure, he had put one of his hands behind her head when they landed. Now, he's towering above her in all fours. He uses his arms to support his weight and keep himself from crushing her.

For a moment, Lady only stares up at him. She seems too stupefied to speak. Then, she bursts out laughing, much to Weiss's surprise.

"What?" he asked, not at all amused.

"You look funny up there," she giggled.

"And whose fault do you think is that?"

"Ummm… Yours?"

"I wasn't the one who just tried to do something reckless."

"Oh, shoot! Sarah and Orion! We have to go back there!"

"No, we're not going back there."

"Then, I'll go by myself! So, get off!"

"I won't unless you behave yourself."

"Weiss!"

Lady squirmed around in an attempt to break free, but Weiss was not budging.

From down there, she can see a couple of silhouettes walking away to a distance. She recognized them to be Sarah's and Orion's – they're leaving. Her expression fell then. Looking defeated, she finally decided to give up.

"They're gone," she told him sulkily.

"They are?" he blurted out, slightly turning around to check.

Lady should be moping right now. But seeing Weiss distracted has brought forth an idea.

"And it's all your fault! You're gonna pay for this!" she bellowed, a mischievous smirk on her face, before she pushed him off of her and tackled him down, which ended up with them switching positions.

"L-Lady?!" he exclaimed, completely thrown off guard.

"Because of you, I wasn't able to stop those two! The story's gonna derail again! They're still supposed to be at the getting-to-know-each-other stage, and that means no smooching and canoodling yet!"

"So, now, you want to get in the way of two lovers?"

"They're not lovers! They're just friends!"

"But they kissed each other. You saw it."

"Something's not right! I'm sure there is!"

"Quit acting like you know everything."

Lady visibly stiffened at that. Weiss immediately felt guilty.

That must've been insensitive of him. It sounds like he's scolding her for poking her nose into other people's business.

He doesn't want her to come up with the wrong idea. So, with an apologetic expression, he reaches a hand up and cups her cheek. He then starts caressing her face gently.

"That's not what I mean, Lady. I just think that there's another way to go around this. I understand that there's something odd going on with Ms. Gracelyn that you're not pleased about, and we can figure it out together - but without stepping out of the line. Let me ask you this…" he told her softly.

"Will she be happy if you get in between her and the one she loves?"

"But she doesn't love him…" she claimed with a pouty face.

"I have a strong feeling that she doesn't. It just really doesn't make sense."

"Let's say that she does. There's that chance, right? We've already got proof."

"W-Well… yeah."

"And so? Will she be happy?"

"No, she won't."

He smiles at her as she finally relents. Raising his other hand that isn't stroking her cheek, he tucks a stray lock of hair behind her ear and goes on to pat her head. She pulled back moments later and let him sit up. From that point on, comforting silence prevails in between them.

"Hey, idiots!"

Then, Fallon popped out of nowhere, taking Lady and Weiss aback.

He had his hands shoved in his pockets as he walked across the field of flowers and up to them. They couldn't read his expression well. It appeared to be a mix of impatience, frustration, bafflement, and annoyance.

Overall, it doesn't look good.

"You freaking bastard…" Fallon hissed, suddenly grabbing Weiss by the collar.

"What did you just do to her? I only left you for a few minutes, and you're already all over each other? What gives you the right?"

"H-Hey, what are you talking about…?" Lady piped in, bolting up quickly.

"You're acting like Father, you know! He didn't do anything!"

"Oh, yeah? Why do you guys look so red, then? And why are you all alone?"

"E-Eh?"

She's not sure what Fallon means by that. Even then, she checks her face, and sure enough, she finds it a little bit warmer than normal. She then turns to look at Weiss next. His cheeks are bright red too – maybe brighter than hers.

"What are you looking at now? Take those damn eyes of yours off of him," Fallon rasped tauntingly.

"It's not what you think it is, Fallon. T-There's just something that… Anyway, I'll tell you everything, okay? So, put me down already," chimed Weiss who already looked so desperate to explain.

And with that, the matter is handled – somehow.

Lady has no clue what just went down. Fallon has acted grumpier than usual, and Weiss has been on the edge the whole time.

But whatever that was about, it was eventually put aside as the three of them went on their way and headed back together to the nearly forgotten party.

---

Due to their striking features, unique personalities, and posh backgrounds, this certain group of students has always been popular in the academy even way back before they enter middle school, but unlike the rest, this certain someone has never attracted such a huge amount of attention in the past.

Lady Mireille is labeled a problem child rather than a rich miss, after all.

She's not the type to please a crowd, and she even repels people sometimes. However, on that night, she's living up to her profile for once – a young lady of high society who fits perfectly with all the babes and hotties.

Heads would turn in her direction, and eyes would follow her movements. Despite her notorious reputation across the campus, she's got quite the aura - one that produces that kind of effect.

"Surely, it's the father's genes," some would say.

But what made tonight really exceptional was that she arrived late with the son of the Chairman himself, who apparently turned out to be a student there.

Lately, rumors have been circling around about the two. They'd been hanging out since day one, and they seem to have a close relationship. So, nobody questioned it anymore when they walked in together.

"The perfect son of the academy head, and the faulty daughter of a conglomerate president – how interesting," some would think.

Fallon let Weiss escort Lady inside and took off to look for Hartigan and Belle.

All five of them had soon gathered together for the party. They didn't have much time to interrogate the two who'd gone missing since there's much to do there – with the crowd being the top of the list.

'Well, all events in this academy are considered as good opportunities to form connections with influential families, after all. Since everyone in our circle is apparently a catch, it's no surprise that many people want to socialize with us,' Weiss thought before glancing at Lady.

He didn't expect he'd find her quiet – a tad bit too calm, too.

With grace in her stride, confidence in her steps, she simply stares ahead and stays collected. He finds himself blushing a little, awed and enamored, as he continues to behold her beauty. Everyone around them seems inevitably drawn to her too.

'I can't blame them for being captivated. She does look very lovely tonight…' he mused while smiling to himself, feeling quite lucky to have been the one to escort her tonight.

'I know I already told her that earlier, but maybe saying it just once doesn't do her justice.'
