Last Man On Earth When There Is No Earth ?
Chapter 193 - One: So I'm a Baby, So What? Part One
Sector twenty one, planet Gorgola, Tiga one, Seven
Well, it seems I'm a baby now.
…..
I sluggishly opened my eyes after hearing a distressed voice calling my name.
'Estel… what's wrong…' I tried to say, but my voice didn't seem to leave my throat. It's a really uncomfortable feeling.
My beloved second wife was looking down at me. Seeing her b.a.r.e b.r.e.a.s.ts hanging forced my brain awake and I tried to stand up but that sudden burst of energy didn't help in lifting my head off the bed. It was as if my whole body is restrained.
"Seven… my lord… is that you?" Estel asked, her brows furrowed as tears gathered in the corners of her eyes. What do you mean by it's me? We're still in my room right? Who else beside me would be here?
As I attempted to wipe her tears while telling her everything is fine, I noticed that my outstretched hand is strangely shorter than it's supposed to be. I turned it around to look at my palm and yep, it's the hand of a baby.
Of course it is the hand of a baby. I mean, why wouldn't it be the hand of a baby?
"… my lord?"
I'm a baby now.
"a…" Is all I managed to say in response to Estel.
I should've seen this coming. Of course I wouldn't just go ahead with my life after sleeping with another alien beauty.
With Lilia I'm usually left with a devastating headache that lasts for days, now I'm trapped in the body of a baby. Is this the universe's way of telling me to stop having s.e.x with hot alien women?
Does my bad luck never end?
"What should I do…?"
Apparently not understanding my response Estel left the bed and started pacing around the room all while cradling her head. It's obvious that one would panic if they woke up to find their partner has aged back to the form of a child, but personally I didn't think it's that weird. I mean, I fought a cosmic calamity last month, this much should be normal, right?
Seriously though, why am I so calm about this? I'm trapped in the shape of a baby and I'm unable to communicate with those around me. This isn't something to brush aside when you're governing an entire planet. I'm positive it's just a temporary state but who could guess how long it will last? We still have quite a few important matters to attend to.
And yet here I'm looking at my small hands and only feeling a bit of discomfort at being unable to speak or move. Guess passing by death more than once a year really does something to your mind.
As I meditated on how calm I was the dark elf walking around completely n.a.k.e.d seemed to panic even more with each passing second. Reaching a critical point she picked me up and dashed toward the door.
"DAAAA!" I tried to warn her. She was about to leave the room with nothing on but thankfully she stopped when I pulled on her hair.
I could see her blushing as she notices her own state, she then quickly wrapped herself in a spare sheet and dashed out again.
The station has been evacuated on Iris's orders as it seems. She suspected that either Feather or I would lose control in our sleep and end up blowing everything by accident. The only ones left on board are us, Lilia, Ginger, Hono, Feather and the few staff we kept around to manage the ship.
If there is one person Estel could rely on in such situation then it would be none other than her friend and my other wife, Lilia.
This is about to escalate even further.
Estel, dear, don't you think it's a bit rude to run to a woman the very morning after which you slept with her husband? I know things work differently here and we already have her permission but we should still be considerate of her emotions…
"Lilia! Please open the door! Hurry!" The moment we reached Lilia's room Estel rang the bell then shouted for her to open.
I expected her to still be asleep but it seems she was awake as she responded almost immediately before letting us in.
"Lilia! What should we do!? What should we do!? What should we do!?" Estel was anything but calm and that seemed to confuse Lilia.
"Calm down, Estel! what happened? tell me!?" Lilia tried to ask but her voice didn't seem to reach the female elf.
"We're in big trouble, Lilia! I don't know what happened… I really don't know…" and she started crying.
Lilia went pale at that moment. She doesn't appear to have noticed me though.
"Hey, Lilia… what should we do about this!" Estel asked again, holding me up toward my first wife.
"Da!" that was "heyy, Lilia! It's nice to see you up so early" in baby language.
Our eyes met and my beloved Zesionien wife, the ferocious alien beauty who brings terror to any battlefield she enters, turned into a stone statue.
"… Lilia?" noticing the cracks spreading Estel froze as well.
"Um… uh..." Lilia's eyes swam in every direction as she seemed to come back to her senses. She searched for what to say for a few seconds then put on a nervous smile before saying "um, congratulations…?"
Oi, what did you mean by that? Don't tell me it's time for some old fashioned misunderstanding where she thinks I'm Estel's child?
"Eh?"
"Eh?"
The two looked at each other completely dumbfounded. Lilia's eyes moved and she stared at me for quite a while before saying.
"… Seven?"
I tried my best to nod and the message went through.
"Eh?... but wait… how?" Lilia held a hand against her forehead as she backed away. The shock seems to have effected her balance as she staggered and almost fell.
"I… I don't know…" Estel said "I found him like this when I woke up…"
The two went silent again, but the party was just getting started.
Appearing out of thin air as usual was my freeloading ghost. She rubbed her eyes and scratched behind her ears while struggling with sleepiness, she then glanced over the surroundings before returning to me.
"… pffffffft!!!!"
Not saying a word she began laughing hysterically.
"Lilia~~" the loud voices seem to have disturbed a certain precious someone's sleep.
"Aah Blue! Sorry we were so noisy…" Lilia picked her up and hugged her closer.
'Hey, stop…' I said telepathically. My thoughts seem to be intact so I don't thing she doesn't hear me.
"What? Haha… what do you mean by gugu gaga?" Iris replied, still laughing down on me.
'C'mon now, I know you can hear me'
"Sorry but I don't speak toddler"
I fail to understand what's so funny about my current situation. As things seem to get messier -from my perspective at least- someone else appeared.
"What… is going on here?"
Hono peeked his head through the still open door. He managed to startle the two still trying to force themselves to believe what happened to me. He walked in with Feather in his arms. The cute little angel was still asleep.
"Hono Nohi…" Lilia muttered.
"…" Estel silently adjusted the white blanket to better cover herself.
The fox eared man looked at us one after the other careful to only glance in Iris's direction. He finally turned to me and after a brief staring contest he said "seriously?" as his eyes gradually grew wide. Watching the blood drain from his face only fueled my wives' anxiety.
"Are humans supposed to have such ability?" he asked Lilia.
"I… don't know…"
What do you mean you don't know!? Is aging back even possible to begin with?
"It's my fault" Estel's tears started streaming again "it must be my fault…" she slowly crumbled to her knees.
"N-no!" Lilia quickly crouched down to support her "don't say that! There should be a logical explanation to all of this. Beside, I'm sure it's temporary!"
"… really?"
Of course it's temporary, Estel. You should already know about my post s.e.x problem. Now that I think about it, doesn't all of this mean the cause was in me from the start rather Lilia? I'm kinda happy it isn't her fault but doesn't this mean it doesn't matter who I sleep with I will always come out with something that ruins my life for quite a while?
Just my luck.
"So, how are we going to deal with this?"
Nice, Hono! Cutting right to the point!
"We will have to wait until he's back to normal…" said Lilia.
"And how long will that take?" he asked.
Lilia and Estel glanced at each other before the former answer "ten day, at least? That's the usual with his headache…"
"Headache?" the one to speak wasn't Hono or any of the others present in the room. All eyes were drawn to ward the door where a new arrival stood "don't tell me he's out of if again?" Ginger said, following it with a sigh.
He examined the room in a few seconds and just like the others he seemed to understand what's going on the moment he saw me in Estel's arms.
"…"
"…" Ginger raised both arms in the air "I'm out" he said then left.
Well, it seems I'm a baby now.
