Leanna

Chapter 72 - [Emery Jansen] [Unsheathe]

It was still half an hour before seven in the morning when we arrived in front of Artem towering gates. I unbuckled my seatbelt and kissed Cain on the cheek and motioned for the car door.

"Leanna . . ."

I stopped and turned to look at him.

"I'll have someone drive you home after your class," he said.

"No need, it's only thirty minutes' walk from here."

Cain just stared at me with his frosty eyes, not refuting my words.

I smiled and pecked his lips, but before I pulled away, his hand gripped the back of my head and slid his tongue inside my mouth.

"Ump!"

I didn't struggle. Instead, I returned his intense kiss with the same vigor. After minutes of kissing and nibbling each other's lips, our panting breathes blurred our face.

I playfully bit his chin before making my way out of his car, walking straight towards the gates. I then turned and waved at him goodbye and entered the University.

The wide paved pathway going to the school proper was like a fantasy that came out from a movie –– tall, towering trees on both sides of the trail. Leaves were falling and swaying along with the gentle summer breeze.

Some students were riding their bike, but most were in their luxurious and expensive car, making their way towards the reserved parking spot that cost you a house for a year of reservation.

"Leanna!"

I whirled to where the voice came from and saw Zoe zooming towards me. I shot her a smile, not a bit of guilt of what I did to his fiancé.

"So you're also attending here?" I said when she reached me.

Zoe caught her breath before returning my smile. "Yeah, I'm a first-year majoring in the arts. How about you?"

"Linguistic."

Zoe was surprised for a moment and puffed a laugh. "I guess I kind of expected that. You're not the lady type to do music or ballet."

I shrugged.

"Let's go together," she suggested, and I nodded.

If she's still friendly to me? Does it mean that she didn't know what I did to his fiancé? Did they keep it a secret?

"You know . . ." Zoe opened her mouth and closed it, shaking her head. "Never mind."

I raised an eyebrow but didn't push her.

"Wow! Look at that sweet vintage car."

"That's the latest limited edition Benz. I heard they only made four of it."

"Who could possibly be riding that beauty?"

Zoe and my attention flicked at the car, eyes curious.

The car stopped in front of the entrance of the large hall. Its door opened and came out a stunning beauty. Her long white-blonde hair was swaying with the breeze. Her big watery blue eyes complemented by a pair of thick long lashes appeared so innocent, yet have that unyielding ferocity.

She was glowing under the morning light. She was like a goddess that the world stopped the moment she stepped foot on the ground.

Everyone froze as they held their breaths, savoring the beauty in front of them.

The young woman's grace and noble elegance was forged from birth and became so natural on her. As expected of the pampered Princess. The precious diamond in everyone's hand.

Emery Jansen

"Oh my god! I can't believe that the Jansen's family Princess is also attending our university!"

"I'm so glad I decided to enroll here."

"Wait till I messaged this to my friends. They'll be so jealous they wish they could transfer schools."

Whispers resounded, but Emery appeared not to hear anything. With her grace and poise, she swayed inside the hall.

"I wonder if I can just have an ounce of her grace. . .  I'll be accepted . . . ," Zoe mumbled. She said it so low, but my ear still caught a bit of it.

I pretended I didn't hear anything and strode inside the hall. Zoe quickly followed behind.

Murmurs, buzzing noises and unfamiliar varied crowds greeted us in the large hall. I roamed my eyes and spotted Holley, Sophia, Nixon, and Rowan together with the other students surrounding Emery.

I shifted my gaze and swept another area.

. . .

. . .

None.

I was hoping to find a familiar face, but all I saw were children of influential politicians, celebrities, tycoons. Some who were ordinary were circling at the far corner of the room. They were easily distinguishable with all the rich kids forming their own cliques and circles.

I guess no one knows how to discriminate themselves than the ones being discriminated.

"Do you know anyone here?" I asked Zoe.

"Yes, but I'm not exactly close to them," she admitted, head lowered a little.

I frowned. "You know. You can be yourself if you're with me. No need to act all goody-goody with me. It just makes me shiver with all the awkwardness."

Zoe's eyes zeroed on me, expression solemn. She grinned, showing her canines, and shrugged her shoulders. Her whole demure aura faded, replaced by a wild, untamed lioness.

"You know; Nick broke our engagement last night," she said, voice flat.

I didn't respond.

"We found him and that whore together in the upper toilet. He was brought to the hospital saying he tripped and fell badly and needed some time to recuperate. While I was worried about the asshole, he dropped a bomb at me and broke our engagement. He said it would damage my reputation if we announce it at the start of school, so we'll wait for a month to break the news. That bastard!" she said in one breath.

I snickered. "And what do you think?"

Zoe face twisted like she ate something rotten.

"I think that asshole just wanted to save his face. Announcing the broken engagement right after the people saw him and that slut together all alone in the toilet? Who do you think he's kidding?!"

"Did you cry?" I teased.

Zoe wrinkled her nose. "I want to, but the tears practically won't shed no matter how hard I wanted them to fall. At first, I thought I was in love with him, so I became everything he wanted me to be. I even grew my hair long! Urk! Thinking about it, I was so stupid."

Zoe stuck her tongue out in disgust. "Now, I only feel regret that I wasted too much time on him."

She crossed her arms and sighed. "I'm curious as to why now though. Why would he break the engagement if he doesn't want to announce it yet?"

Instead of answering her, I brought out my phone. "Give me your email."

Zoe gave me a confused look, but she still typed her email on my phone. She then checked her mail when her phone vibrated.

She shot me a face full of surprise and amazement. Her grin was so wide it would probably rip her lips apart.

"Do whatever you want with it," I said, uninterested.

Her lips tug in a wicked smile.

"Ooohh~ Sweet revenge!"
