Legendary Shadow

The next day, Liam headed out. Just when Liam was about to leave the city, Whitney came chasing after. Liam thought "What does this lady want with me now? I've been trying to leave for days, but she's been keeping me in this city for the longest time." 

Whitney caught up to Liam and he listened to what she was going to say. She was panting and trying to catch her breath. After she caught her breath, she told Liam that she was going to come with him. He rejected her right away and told her that he liked traveling alone. 

She said that she just wanted to travel until the next city because she was going to Gina's place. She said that they had made a bet and Gina had to fulfill it so she's going to spend the month over there. Liam agreed because it was only going to be just for one city, so they started the journey together to get to the next city. 

After traveling for a few hours, they finally reached the National Park where they were having a bug catching contest. Whitney was creeped out by this as she didn't like bugs. Liam also didn't like bugs, so he decided to skip this contest. 

Just when they were about to leave, they ran into Bugsy the bug gym leader. Liam and Whitney were surprised to see him as he came to greet them. He asked Liam and Whitney if they were here for the bug-catching contest and Liam shook his head while Whitney crossed her hands saying no way. 

Bugsy was sad about this, but he quickly brushed it off. Liam told him that he was just passing through. Bugsy quickly asked for another battle. Liam said he was in a hurry, but the next time he'll stop by, they would be able to battle to their heart's content. 

Bugsy asked if they could stick around and watch Bugsy win the contest. Liam agreed to this as he didn't want to disappoint Bugsy. Whitney, on the other hand, was disgusted that she had to watch these trainers go around catching bug Pokémon. Liam ignored her complaints and he threatened to leave her if she didn't keep quiet. 

Whitney did not appreciate being bullied, so she went and grabbed Liam's family jewels and squeezed them. Liam immediately felt the pain as he was forced to beg Whitney for forgiveness. Liam had been training his body for years and yet he was defeated easily by just one squeeze from a weak woman. 

There was nothing he could do about it and he felt that he should train the s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e parts of his body and ways on how to do that, but he quickly shoved that idea to the back of his mind and said impossible. 

The contest went underway as all the trainers took off after they got the green light. There were monitors in front of the onlookers and cameras planted all around that forest. Bugsy was on a roll as he was blasting off and looking for certain types of bug Pokémon to catch. He didn't just catch anything as he was looking for the rarest, strongest and the biggest one to catch. 

Liam was still in pain while watching Bugsy do his thing and he wondered if it was too late for him to enter. But then he thought about it and didn't want any bug Pokémon. Bugsy ended up catching a Pinser when the timer ran out while the person who won the contest had caught a powerful Heracross and a shiny one at that. 

Liam was surprised by this outcome as he thought Bugsy should have won it because he was a bug specialist. However, sometimes in this contest, it takes luck in order to win. Bugsy came in second place and was very disappointed in himself. Liam tried to cheer him up as he said that he would agree to a battle, but it will only be one versus one. Liam also told him that this time he wasn't going to pull any punches. 

Bugsy got excited as he sent out his Heracross. Liam smirked at this as he knew this was going to happen. He quickly sent out Charizard. When Bugsy saw Charizard, he frowned and immediately returned Heracross and said, "Okay, you win." 

Whitney laughed at this and they said their goodbyes and left Bugsy behind. Whitney asked why Liam was so mean to Bugsy, but Liam didn't respond as he kept walking. During the journey, they were battling and training non-stop. Liam took this opportunity to teach Whitney a little bit about Pokémon battles while also training some of her Pokémon. 

He wanted her to get over her fear of Tyranitars so Liam made Whitney travel alongside Tyranitar the entire time. Whitney was so scared on the first day that she had passed out as Tyranitar carried her in his arms. Every time she would gain consciousness, the first thing she would see Tyranitar holding her and she would just pass out again. 

On the second day, she was finally able to remain awake in the company of Tyranitar but she was still scared. Tyranitar was enjoying this and was also amused. As they traveled and trained, Liam was starting to enjoy Whitney's company even though she was a bit annoying sometimes. It was quite amusing to have somebody to laugh at and sometimes he was even able to release his stress as Whitney pleased him at night.
