Legendary Shadow

The next day, Liam went to register him and his Pokémon for the League. When he reached the registration booth (idk if you wanted to use a booth or reception or office or something else), there was a long line, but he didn't have to wait as the employees immediately recognized him and let him join a VIP line. At the back of the VIP line, he noticed that Gary and Ash were there too. When they noticed Liam, they were surprised because they had not seen him for so long. 

Everybody had gotten taller and more robust, and their appearance changed a little, even Ash. He used to have his spiky black hair with the hat on all the time. But this time, he did not have a cap on, and his hair was cut short, which made him look completely different, and the gear that he had on was cool too. He had a yellow and red outfit, which almost made him look identical to the Pokémon that was sitting on his shoulder, Pikachu. Liam laughed a little after seeing the gear Ash had on and asked sarcastically, "If I took out a poke ball, will I be able to catch you?" Ash felt a little embarrassed as he said, "My girlfriend convinced me to wear this outfit, so please don't blame me."

Gary, on the other hand, too seemed to have gotten taller and looked like he had just come from hardcore training in the mountains. Liam was shocked because his aura and the vibe around him had changed. Even though he seemed like he was in taters and looked like he had not eaten in days, the energy that was exploding from him was on a different level. When Ash had met Gary, Gary seemed to be a little quiet around him as he had noticed that Ash seemed to have not gotten stronger. But as soon as Gary saw Liam, his eyes lit up as he looked Liam deep in the eyes and said, "I'm ready to face you now."

Liam couldn't help but shake his head and say, "I'm pretty sure you are, but let us see how that works out for you. I hope life has been treating you well and that you haven't been overworking yourself." Gary got a little mad but calmed himself down as he said, "This time, I'll beat you. You're my goal, and now that you're in front of me, I will achieve it no matter what."

Liam felt embarrassed as he noticed the stars they were getting and said, "Okay, there are too many people here, so I'll be on my way to the high pedestal. I'm sure with/without (idk what you wanted to say) my Legendary Pokémon; you guys will be quite the match for me." It was then that they heard Ash arguing with the person working at the registration booth, "What do you mean I can only use only two Pokémon from Kanto, and two Pokémon from the Hoenn region and the rest have to be from the Johto region?" 

Liam was also shocked by this, and he thought he heard wrong. It was then that the lady said, "Once again sir, this is the Johto League Championship, so that means it should be only Johto Pokémon registered and if you don't have enough Johto Pokémon, then you can only use a certain amount of different regions Pokemons to fight." Liam honestly did not care because Lugia and Entei were both from the Johto region, and he could use Mewtwo as his last resort as his one or two Kanto Pokémon, so he did not mind this.

Gary and the other Kanto region Pokémon trainers were the ones that were going to have a little bit of a problem since most of their Pokémon were from the Kanto region. They had trained only a few Johto region Pokémon but not enough to get all six of them in the championship.

Just when Ash and Gary were about to register their Pokémon, someone crashed through the door to the VIP room.
