Chapter 88: We beg of you, Saint-sama!

After I gave her an antipyretic, Anne’s fever went down slightly.

I’m neither a doctor or a nurse, so I don’t know what’s the best treatment for her symptoms, but I think it is important to keep her well hydrated and well nourished.

“I think I saw some lemons in the garden earlier, can I use some of them?”

Cain-san, the old man that we met when we first come here, immediately got up and went into the garden to get some lemons for me.

“Also, I will need some sugar and salt.”

“We have salt, but we have no sugar.” The father, Pell-san, said apologetically.

 “That’s alright. Please just prepare some hot water. Rouge, get some salt and sugar from the ship’s pantry. Oh, and also a teapot. The smallest one would do. Also, bring me two Gokus to help me here.”

“Got it.”

I’m about to make something like a sport drink. It’s fairly easy to make by mixing water with sugar, salt, and if I add something sour like lemon, it will have a similar taste. [1] I should just put a bit of lemon though, since having too much of it won’t be good for the inflammation of the throat.

After getting the water boiled, I then put in some salt and sugar while checking the taste.

Once the drink was sufficiently cooled down, I brought it to Anne, who was still lying down. The fever has subsided, but she seemed to be having trouble breathing. I could hear her making a wheezing sound while breathing, so I think it’s related to phlegm.

After I completed the medicine for encephalitis, I think it’s better to start making expectorant. [3] That should only take a few minutes anyway.

I transferred the cooled sports drink to the teapot and brought the spout to Anne’s mouth.

“Here, drink this, it will make you feel better. Try to drink as much as you can.”

Cecily might excel at fire magic but she’s not good with ice magic, and so is Rouge. And Miina can only use physical reinforcement magic.

If only Sierra was here with us right now… No, no, it’s not good to think about Sierra every time I’m in a bit of a trouble. I need to pull myself together and push through! However, I’m currently in the process of making medicine, and I can’t produce ice at the same time.

“It’ll take some time, but I think I can make a small lump of ice…”

Rouge says she can make ice around the size of a tennis ball in about 30 minutes, but I don’t think it’ll be enough for all of them.

And just when I wondered if there’s a way I could somehow get some ice, I remembered… that I have some ice at the cellar of my inn at Monte Chris Island. It would probably take no more than a few minutes to make a round trip by using Captive Angel and take what I need from there.

Besides, I was running away from there in a hurry so I couldn’t pack most of the stuff there, so it’d be nice if I could bring some of the booze and food that I’ve stored away there. It’d be nice to eat some shoulder bacon and cheese again after awhile.

“Rouge, I’ll be going back to the island for a bit, to get some ice.”

I have a freezing magical tool installed at the storage room, but I can’t drag it just by myself.

“By island, you mean Monte Chris Island? What if you run into someone there?”

“We’ll head straight into the storage room, so it’ll be fine. And if it does happen that someone find us out we can just quickly teleport away, right?”

“You have a point there. Alright, let’s get this done quick.”

When we told them that we’re going away somewhere for awhile, both Cain-san and Pell-san seemed worried and uneasy. Maybe they thought that Rouge and I are going to escape and leave Anne behind.

“Please don’t worry. We’re just going to get some ice for her. We’ll be back soon.”

After I gently reassured them, I finally went back to the island using the Captive Angel.

We teleported instantly into a pitch-dark space.

We were holding hands when I first start teleporting, but all of a sudden Rouge hugged me while we’re being disoriented in the darkness.

“What are you doing?”

“I thought that you’d be terrified being in a dark place, so I wanted to console you.”

And we then returned back to Anne’s house with a lot of stuff from the island.

As we had disappeared and then reappeared just as suddenly, suffice to say that both Cain and Pell were quite surprised by us. However, not just them, but Miina and I were also surprised when we returned to the house, since in the meantime when we were on the island, many other villagers have gathered around in the small room.
