‘I guess dark blue, since it’s a relatively peaceful night?‘ As she thought that, she realized that Kalix’s eyes were also a dark blue. Like the night sky.

“You’ll go to sleep now, right?”Amber asked the Kalix who was still glaring at her while standing as still as a statue.

At her question, Kalix flinched. “What?” He asked in a dazed and flustered voice.

“If you don’t plan to just stand there the entire night, you should start getting ready for bed too.” As she spoke, Amber skillfully lifted her bedcover and sat on the corner of the bed. Her long and thick nightgown didn’t expose any skin, even when she moved comfortably.

“You’ll be fine sharing a bed with me, right? Your Excellency?” Amber asked, as she sat on the bed. Though she wasn’t too worried, it was safer to confirm. “That’s fine, right?”

But when he heard the words ‘sharing a bed’, the color drained from Kalix’s face.

“… Do you hate sleeping with me that much?”

At this point, even Amber couldn’t help but feel offended. Even though it wass nothing more than simply lying next to her to sleep, he still looked like he was facing death.

Annoyed, Amber pushed the blanket away and stood up to go to the sofa.

It was at that moment.

‘Wait a minute…’ A thought flashed past Amber’s mind for a moment. She was about to put her hand on the back of the sofa when she stopped her movements and turned to look behind her.

“Madam…”

She saw Kalix calling her name with a trembling voice. He couldn’t bring himself closer to Amber’s side, yet he couldn’t go anywhere else and simply stood there awkwardly.

“I, Madam, we haven’t, um…” Kalix’s expression crumpled once again as he kept his mouth shut.

Kalix was about to say something but suddenly crumpled his expression and kept his mouth shut.

“Ahhh, right, there was that.” On the other hand, Amber, who was initially confused, finally looked relieved, as if she’d found the solution to her dilemma.

“We have not yet come to an agreement on how we handle with sleeping together, correct?”

Kalix’s face couldn’t have turned any redder than it was now.

In her previous life, the first time Amber and Kalix shared an intimate moment in bed was 6 years after her marriage. During those 6 years, Kalix always excused himself from sleeping with Amber using absurd and crazy excuses like monster subjugations or war battlefields.

But since he hadn’t gone out to battle, he ended up staying for the first night spent with his wife to have her officially recognized like regular couples.

Of course, Amber didn’t want to sleep with him just because it was their first night together, not at all. All the memories of his treatment towards her was still fresh in her mind, how could she possibly wish to mix their bodies?

‘Though I will have to be intimate with him in the future in order to meet my child again.

But that was something that wouldn’t happen until much later. Amber hadn’t been pregnant until the summer of her 28th year. There was no need to be intimate with him until then. She wanted to put off physical intimacy with him as much as possible and believed that he felt the same. With that, Amber wasn’t particularly tense about the situation.

“Come over here, let us talk.”

As she stayed sitting on the side of the bed, Amber tapped the spot next to her as there were no areas on the bed where they could look at each other.

Kalix stepped towards the bed with stiff expression and equally stiff strides. However, he couldn’t bring himself to sit next to Amber. He simply stood there and quietly stared down at Amber.

The light of the candle wavered heavily as if the wax of the candle had nearly run out.

Sitting on the bed and looking up at him, Amber was suddenly wrapped up with an unfamiliar emotion.
