Leveling Up With My Pet
310 A Son's Burden!!
Liu Yong switched off the third-party vision, feeling euphoric at that moment. He had finally acquired the coveted lithography machine he had dreamed of. It was a prized possession that even domestic technology giants like Qingyun International had been unable to purchase. The country had to intervene to secure this remarkable piece of technology.
A 5nm lithography machine! Just imagine the joy and excitement coursing through his veins. Liu Yong couldn't contain his joy, leaping up from his seat and pacing around the room, his excitement refusing to settle.
Yet amidst his happiness and anticipation, Liu Yong couldn't help but ponder a nagging thought: would some individuals argue that the manner in which he obtained the lithography machine was dishonourable? It troubled him deep within his heart.
The opposing party had levied severe sanctions against the lithography machine, completely disregarding international laws. They had acted unkindly, and Liu Yong couldn't help but feel that he was merely responding kindly. If they hadn't imposed a ban on the sale of the machine and sanctions on domestic high-tech companies, he wouldn't have had to go through all the trouble to acquire those four colossal containers.
If only they had agreed to a short sale, he could have easily purchased them with his wealth. Did he lack the means to afford those hundreds of millions? No, he certainly did not. It was the other party's disregard for international laws that had led him down this path.
"Take your lithography machine and leave. You wanted a fight? Well, now you've got one!" Liu Yong muttered defiantly under his breath.
The next day, Liu Yong went to the Global Shipping Group. As he settled into his office, he couldn't help but contemplate how he would retrieve those four large containers. Bawang had been quite busy the previous night, finding an uninhabited deserted island hundreds of nautical miles away from the crash site, away from the usual maritime routes. It was a safe spot to store the containers temporarily.
The real question now was how to transport them all back. Liu Yong considered utilizing Bawang's services, but it could only transport one container at a time, despite its speed. The distance from the uninhabited island to Huahai City made it impossible to pass through the Suez Canal, necessitating a journey around the African continent—a daunting 20,000 nautical miles. Factoring in rest and necessary breaks, it would take at least a week for Bawang to complete a round trip. With four containers, the entire process would take over a month. Even with Bawang's endurance, it would undoubtedly be exhausting.
After pondering for some time, Liu Yong's mind wandered to the "Blue Whale," an ocean-going salvage ship with its own lifting equipment. Hoisting a large container weighing dozens of tons onto the ship would be a breeze. The ship had just returned from the uninhabited deserted island a couple of days ago after a month-long journey from Huahai City. It seemed like the perfect solution.
With determination in his eyes, Liu Yong reached for his phone and issued the necessary orders. He requested the presence of Ren Ziquan, the captain of the "Blue Whale," without delay.
Approximately ten minutes later, Ren Ziquan knocked on the door and entered Liu Yong's office with the utmost respect. "Boss, you asked for me?" he inquired.
Liu Yong waved him closer and said, "Captain Ren, come in. I have a task I'd like to entrust to you."
Ren Ziquan approached obediently, attentive to his superior's words. Liu Yong spread out a world map on his desk, searching for the location of the uninhabited island where the four containers were stowed.
Naturally, the uninhabited desert island was not marked on the map. In the vast Atlantic Ocean, there were countless such islands. Liu Yong pointed to the approximate location and explained, "Captain Ren, at this position lies an uninhabited desert island. There are four large containers situated there, each weighing tens of tons. Your mission is to assemble a team, locate the uninhabited island, and return the four containers for me."
Taking note of the location, Ren Ziquan swiftly agreed, "Boss, the 'Blue Whale' will set sail immediately. We shall retrieve those four containers without fail."
He didn't bother to inquire about the contents of the containers or whether they might be restricted items violating the law. Ren Ziquan's loyalty to Liu Yong was unwavering, and he was filled with gratitude. Life had changed for the better since he had come under Liu Yong's wing. Resolute and without hesitation, he embraced the task assigned to him by his esteemed boss.
"Then I wish you the best of luck, and a swift return," Liu Yong conveyed his well wishes.
After watching Ren Ziquan leave, Liu Yong felt a sense of assurance settle within him. The matter seemed to be on a stable course.
Meanwhile, numerous large salvage ships had gathered at the sea area where the plane had crashed. The aircraft's wreckage mainly had been recovered, along with several bodies. However, the absence of the four containers puzzled the officials in charge of salvage and search and rescue, particularly those from the M country. They seemed to have vanished without a trace. The mystery surrounding their whereabouts remained unsolved.
Back in Huahai City, at one of its bustling ports, the "Blue Whale," an imposing Chinese ocean-going salvage ship with an impressive displacement of 85,000 tons, had completed its replenishment and refuelling. The crew, brimming with energy, stood ready for their imminent voyage.
Amidst the resounding blast of its whistle, the "Blue Whale" gracefully departed, embarking on its journey through the vast Atlantic Ocean. Their primary objective was transporting the four large containers back to their destination.
Liu Yong stood at the pier, watching as the "Blue Whale" grew smaller and smaller until it vanished on the distant horizon, swallowed by the vast expanse of the sea. A smile played on his lips as he anticipated the containers' safe return.
Returning to his car, Liu Yong departed from the scene. Kang Zhenggang and He Qiang were currently absent, leaving him in the company of a seasoned driver from the company's security department—a skilled veteran behind the wheel.
It didn't take long after leaving the pier for Liu Yong's phone to ring, and Ding Wen's voice reverberated through the call. "Brother Yong, hurry up and pick me up from the airport."
Liu Yong chuckled and responded, "You're already back in Huahai City? Why not stay a few more days in the capital?"
Ding Wen replied, "The old man doesn't want me worrying about family affairs. After spending a few days in the capital, I realized how comfortable I feel in Huahai City. I've just landed, so come and get me."
With the call concluded, Liu Yong instructed his driver, "Let's head to the airport to pick someone up."
As Liu Yong's luxurious Rolls-Royce arrived at the airport, Ding Wen was already waiting at the exit, his gaze shifting left and right in search of his friend. The car stopped before him, and Liu Yong rolled down the window, waving him over. "Get in the car."
Ding Wen gladly hopped into the vehicle, his absence of several days leading to an overflow of stories and anecdotes. He seemed to have an endless stream of things to say and eagerly shared them with Liu Yong.
Liu Yong maintained a warm smile, attentively listening to Ding Wen's account.
After a long monologue, Ding Wen changed the subject and sighed softly, "The only downside is that my father is under a lot of pressure. As his son, I can't share the burden, and it makes me feel uneasy."
