Life didn't get easier, even in another world.

Chapter 192 - Gently Walking Away

Kairen grabbed Kain's wrist with one hand and placed his other palm on the surface of the water wall.

For a moment, Kairen saw his reflection on the water barrier.

'Holy... why are my eyes...'

Why were his eyes shining? They were shining gold and silver... He looked so freaking... freaking... he looked like a real freak!

"Are you sure this will work?"

Kairen looked away from the barrier and turned to Kain.

"No."

"...."

Kairen was a little bit... maybe more than a little bit scared of what would the outcome of his action be but there was nothing else he could think of.

Just like when he used his power a few minutes ago, Kairen thought of forcing a little bit of his power into the water barrier and the bracelet at the same time.

ZZZZZZ

SPLASH

ZZZZZZ

Cracks emerged on the water barrier's surface. At the same time, small cracks started to whirl around Kain's wrist as a blinding blue light shone through Kairen's fingers that were around the bracelet.

"What? It's getting hot!"

Kain looked between Kairen and his hand with wide eyes. The bracelet was getting hotter and hotter. He felt that his arm would burn at this rate.

ZZZZZ

CRACKLE

ZZZZZZ

The water barrier was cracking up. It was really a rare sight to see water crack up and fall to different-sized pieces.

The water barrier's surface shook. The whole thing shook as cracks attacked it like worms. Then it started to fall apart little by little as if it was swallowed by the cracks.

The more the water barrier fell apart, the brighter and hotter the bracelet got. Kairen felt that his palm was on fire and his fingers were burning, but still, he didn't let go of the bracelet.

ZZZZZZ

SPLASH

ZZZZZZ

The water barrier was now so thin that they could see through it. The faces of the people gathered outside the barrier were becoming visible.

BANGG

BANGG

The soil dude who had been banging on the barrier stopped and stared at the cracks that were swallowing the water.

Clang

The spear fell from his hand as he stepped towards the place where two people were becoming visible from the inside of the barrier.

Asa, busy healing the injured looked at the barrier with her mouth open. Some of the team members picked up their weapons, but they were also amazed by the beautiful sight. Golden-silvery crack-like things seemed to be playing around inside the water barrier and blue light was shining somewhere inside it. They couldn't help but stop what they were doing and stare at the sight.

BAM

With a sound like the sound of a balloon exploding, the water barrier fell apart as if it was a broken piece of glass. Water splashed around and made some parts of the ground wet.

'It really worked...'

Kairen looked at the people outside the barrier and slowly released his hand holding the bracelet. His hand hurt. Once he looked at his palm, he could see that there were red bunt marks on it, as well as on Kain's wrist.

Kairen looked at the bracelet. The light was gone. The bracelet no longer shone. The red light has now turned into a beautiful blue-sliver bracelet.

"How... how did you do this..."

Kain massaged the bracelet while blankly staring at Kairen.

"...I don't know- Hey!"

Kairen stopped his sentence midway and jumped back. The soil dude was suddenly running towards him.

"S-stop!"

BANG

Somewhere beside the man's feet exploded as Kairen said that. The soil dude, who was not even carrying his weapon and seemed oddly not focused, was hit by the explosion.

"Oh..."

Kairen covered his mouth with his hand.

"S-sorry..."

He watched the soil dude stand back up from the ground while dusting his clothes. Good thing he didn't look injured. Kairen had acted out of reflex and attacked him because he was shocked for a moment, but he didn't want to hurt him.

"...."

The man stared at Kairen's face, not moving at all.

"...."

Kairen stared back at him.

"...."

"...."

Everyone else was also staring at him, probably because of his freaking shining eyes.

"You... you need to get treated!"

Asa stood up and ran towards Kain.

"Ah!"

Kain nodded his head. Glancing at Kairen one last time, he sat down on the ground, letting Asa do a little bit of first aid on his wounds.

"That..."

Reyan also stood up.

"Is he... dead?"

He slowly stepped towards the man who was laying on the ground without moving.

"Stop!"

Team leader Dains grabbed him and pulled him back.

"It might be dangerous!"

Reyan looked between team leader Dains and The First.

"But... But my uncle..."

He then looked back at Kairen. Kairen could understand the meaning behind his gaze. He was asking whether Kairen was the one who had beaten his uncle like this.

"Uh... he... Mmm..."

Kairen opened his mouth to answer that gaze but closed it again immediately.

'Why do I feel nausea all of a sudden...'

He was feeling lightheaded as well. His body felt so tired all of a sudden that he wanted to sleep for two years.

"Uh..."

THUD

Kairen sat down, almost fell to the ground. He felt the energy leaving his body. The power in his soul was disappearing.

"Hey!"

Kain, who was just beside him, turned around and grabbed his shoulder. Before Kain could ask if he was fine or not, Kairen nodded his head while covering his mouth with his hand. He was afraid that if he talked, he would throw up for real.

Tap

The soil dude took one step towards Kairen again, but stopped just after that and changed his direction, picking up his spear that was on the ground. He then moved back towards where Claire was standing like a lost child.

"We are leaving."

"Eh?"

Claire looked around with a startled face. Now that she thought about it, why wasn't anyone attacking them? The unit members were injured and all, but they didn't look so bad that they wouldn't be able to fight. Even after Mr. Hey said that they were leaving, no one tried to stop them. But wait, there was something more important.

"We are leaving? Only the two of us?"

Mr. Hey nodded his head.

"What about The First?"

Asa pointed at the man on the ground.

"The... The First?"

Reyan mumbled while staring at his uncle with a blank face.

"He was captured and we barely managed to ran away."

"..."

Asa looked at Mr. Hey with frightened eyes.

"But the boss will... the boss..."

"I will talk to him, you just create a portal."

"...."

Asa looked at Mr. Hey. She was clearly hesitant. She looked at the SMF agents who were only watching them and the GBS boy who was covering his mouth with a trembling body before looking at The First that looked like shit.

"O-okay..."

She nodded and proceeded to create a portal.

'Ah, they are leaving...'

Kairen watched the girl create a portal for herself and the soil dude to flee.

'I wanted to talk to him more...'

Kairen wanted to know more about the soil dude. Where was he from? How did he end up here? What did he want to do?

But there was no way for them to do it now. They were running away, no actually they were gently leaving this place as no one was there to stop them. It was probably because of The First, and also the things they had experienced before.

The unit members were injured, but not to the point that they couldn't fight. But on the other hand, they couldn't gamble on this. They had already captured The First, someone who seemed to be a really important person to them. They also knew that that soil dude was really strong. They didn't want to take the risk of fighting him in such a situation where there was the probability of the one they had barely captured running away. The soil dude wanted to leave without harming the weakened agents and attempting to rescue The First, and the agents were letting him go as they didn't want to risk anything.

That was how Kairen concluded the situation.

'Ah damn!'

Kairen couldn't control his shaking body. While he was removing the water barrier, he was wondering how he hadn't fainted right after using his power like last time. He thought maybe he would be fine this time. But no! Something was bound to happen to him in every mission!

"Mmnn!"

Unable to resist any longer, Kairen lowered his head and threw up the hot liquid that was moving up from his throat.

"Ugh, cough-"

Red liquid oozed out of his mouth and wet the ground.

'Argh, damn it hurts!'

His insides felt to be on fire.

"B-blood!"

It was obviously Kain's voice.

"Y-you are throwing up blood! Blood!!!!"

"Ugh-"

Kairen threw up more.

"Oh, my goddess!"

"What happened?"

"Oy! Bitch! Are you finally going to die?!"

"Kairen!"

The team members ran to his side as soon as they heard Kain's words.

"Mr. Hey, the portal is ready!"

Claire pulled Mr. Hey's cloak.

"...."

"Mr. Hey?"

She pulled it once again, the man didn't move.

"What are you..."

She followed the man's gaze and looked at the place where he was staring at.

"Ah!"

She could get it now. He was staring at that GPS boy who was throwing up blood. Claire felt a little bit annoyed but said nothing. She just pulled Mr. Hey's cloak once more.

"We should go, Mr. Hey."

"...Yes..."

He finally responded.

"Let's go."

Glancing one last time at Kairen's the man and the teenager entered the portal.
