Today is the day we decide on our electives.
We can only select one from Art, Calligraphy, and Music. I wonder which one I should pick.
I’m not very interested in Art, and I’ve already done calligraphy. Maybe music, since I kinda want to learn something else besides the piano.

Afterwards is the school tour.
There are many unique classrooms, but perhaps since there are so many, the tour ends after we’re only shown the ones we’ll use for class.

The dining hall is huge. In fact, an entire building serves as the dining hall. I thought the classrooms and club rooms were large, but then there’s this dining hall. It’s connected to the classrooms via a passage on the roof, and the building itself is circular and made entirely out of glass, giving it a feeling of freedom. This, is the school’s cafeteria. By the way, a moat surrounds this building, and a bridge spanning the moat leads to the clubrooms. Next to the moat is a large lawn, where Sakura trees and various other trees are grown. Tables with benches were placed there, and overall, it feels like a grandiose park space.
Ah, of course, the dining hall has a café terrace thing overlooking the park. Why this place is so grandiose, I have no idea.

I return to the classroom and hand in my filled-out form for my choice of elective. With that, the day is over.
For my first choice, I selected music.

“Sora, what did you choose for your elective~?”

My neighbor Kiho comes to ask me.
As always, she’s brightly smiling. So cute, Kiho. So cute.

“I plan on doing music. What did you choose Kiho?”
“Nn~, I haven’t decided yet. Can I…choose the same thing as yo~u?”

And again with that head tilt!
I could just gobble you up yo.

“Sure. Let’s work hard together.”

There’s no way I have any reason to refuse!
However, I’m pretty sure Kiho already has some experience in music. No, it would be better if she wasn’t good at music, so I can see her figure when she’s trying her best. But maybe I’m just being stingy.

“Ueh~heheheー. Yes, we’re doing the same thing~. I can’t read sheet music, but I’m sure I’ll be fine!!”

What’s with that habit of creepy laughter?
I’ll be troubled if I start finding even that cute.

“If you’re ever troubled by anything, feel free to come to me.”

Kiho yells, “I don’t under~stand,” and comes to attach herself to me. I might be having a nosebleed.

“Yeah~! I’ll definitely come to you, so please take care of me!”

“Yeah. I’ll do my best.”

Allllllright. So that I can answer whatever she asks me, I’ll have to study hard.

I’ll be like a reliable Nee-chan. Fufufu, looks like I’ll be busy from tonight on yo!

“Kiho-chan, what happened?”

The kid in front of where I sit asks Kiho.
When I glance in her direction, there’s a prim and proper Ojou-sama, or so I feel, with long black hair.
“I chose music. The same as Sora!”

Says Kiho who’s, as always, brightly smiling.
Wait, it’s only the second day since school started. How many people have you made friends with?
What frightening Communication Power.

“Ah! Sora! This is Agatsuma Kaede-chan! She’s my friend from middle school~!”

Ahh, so that’s who she is. So she’s your classmate from Middle School huh?

“I am Agatsuma Kaede. Nice to meet you, Katagiri-san.”

First a girl with a smiling face like the sun, now a prim and proper Ojou-sama!
Oh what ecstasy!

“I am Katagiri Sora. Please call me Sora. Pleased to meet you.”

I say while smiling.
‘Katagiri-san’ is too formal, so I don’t like being called that by other people. Well, I have no interest in being called by my name familiarly by guys though! Girls are special after all!

“Then, I will go with Sora-san. Please call me Kaede in return.”

Says Kaede-chan while smiling.
How should I describe it. If Kiho’s smile is like the sun, then Kaede-chan’s is like the feeling of a healing breeze. Hmm, I hope I conveyed that well.

“Please take care of me, Kaede-chan.”
“I know! Have you decided on an elective yet, Kaede? If you can’t decide, let’s do music together!”

Kiho invites Kaede-chan after we finish our mutual self-introductions. Nice!

“Would that be okay? In that case, I may be troubling you, but I hope you’ll accept me into your midst.”

‘Troubling’ she says! Many cute girls are a wonderful thing!

“There’s no way you’ll be a bother. So how about it? Let’s work hard together?”
“In that case, I think I would love to do music. Please take care of me.”
“Ue~hehehe. Now I’m with Kaede too~! Fun~”

Says Kiho while smiling and looking like she’s enjoying herself.
When I look at her face, I start to have fun too. She’s truly a good gal.

Afterwards, we talk about going home together, and we descend down to the entrance gate.
‘From now on, let’s go home together everyday yo!’…. My excitement keeps rising with no sign of stopping.

“He-Hey! Katagiri-san!”

Once we descend down to the entrance, I’m ambushed by a single guy who starts a conversation with me.

Who is this guy? I don’t think he’s in my class. Wait, how does he know my name?

“Ca-Ca-Ca-Can I, talk to you a little bit!?”
“Hah…… What.”

He’s so nervous that he’s shaking.
Well, as long as he doesn’t waste my time I don’t mind, and I’m not in a hurry or anything. I wonder what business he has with me.

“Umm…Uhh…… I fell in love with you at first sight! Please go out with me!”

… … Hahhh. So it was something like this.

“I’m sorry.”

It’s the first time we’ve met, and I don’t even know your name. How did you think that was OK?
And ughhh, there is no worse feeling than going out with a guy.

“So…you can’t.”
“Yeah, sorry.”

When I give him my rejection, his shoulders slump, and he trudges away.
My tension from earlier fades away as if it never existed.
My middle school days were like this too. How can people do things like confessing on their first meeting?!
It’s the inside that counts, and despite not knowing mine, they tell me their affection. Isn’t it obvious that it doesn’t make me happy?

“Oh~OH~! Even though that kid was pretty cool, he was rejected~”

Kiho says while teasing me. She’s not smiling. She’s mischievously grinning.
Kiho. I kinda don’t like that grin. Your usual smile is better.

“I mean, it was our first meeting, you know? I’m not happy that I was confessed to by a person who knows nothing about me.”
“I agree. I also would like to be like by a person who appreciates much about me.”

Kaede-chan is of the same opinion. Indeed, it feels weird to have a random guy confess to you.
Well in my case, I just don’t want to go out with another guy, so it’s probably slightly different.

“Hm~ph. Your words are the words of popular people! Being picky, that’s a luxury!”

Kiho says sullenly. Her sullen face is also quite cute, though, it’s Kiho, she must be quitepopular.

“What are you saying? Aren’t you quite popular Kiho?”
“Indeed she is. She makes friends with boys so easily, so there are many instances of them falling for her. Because of that, they all become awkward around her and are afraid to confess.”

When I ask my question, Kaede-chan responds to me.
I see so that’s the situation. If they get rejected by a someone they’re on good terms with and they like, then it’s unpleasant. If that’s the case, then the guys on good terms with her can’t confess due to their fear of their relationship becoming awkward.

“What are you guys secretly talking about~! Let me in on it~!”

Kaede-chan and I are walking slightly ahead of Kiho until she jumps in between us.
Most likely, she gets close to guys by acting like this in front of them too. Then, there are probably a lot of guys who realize they’ve come to like her.

“I was just saying how cute Kiho is. Right? Kaede-chan.”
“Fufu, that is true. Kiho-chan sure is cute.”
“E-Even if you say those things about me…I kind of, not happy, you know~!”

Your words have no persuasive power if you say that with a bright red face. But it doesn’t matter to me since I think that appearance of her’s is also cute.

Afterwards, we head home while teasing Kiho whose face became bright red.
My friends increased to two. Not only that, they’re really nice people. I’m glad I entered this school.
