Little Girl's Wild Side
Chapter 57
Sindhu was lying on his bare chest with her head rested near his heart which was at the moment beating rapidly. Both their bodies were covered in sweet as they tried to catch their breaths.
Sindhu's face felt extremely sticky even though there was no visible sign of the cream. Once they settled down, "I'm hungry…" Sindhu whined. She had an early dinner today and went to sleep seeing as none of them was home. Gautham was originally supposed to be out on a business dinner and come home very late which he did actually. But she did not expect to be woken up in the middle of the night and made to do such strenuous activity. That is why her stomach was begging her for food now.
Gautham shifted from under her getting up.
"I will go bring the cake." Gautham said leaning over giving her a kiss on her temple. Then he wore his pants and went down stair.
Even though she was too tired to move about, Sindhu still did not like the sticky feeling on her face. So she got up and wore his shirt and went to the bathroom to wash her face.
She stared at herself for a minute in the mirror. The girl staring back at her had an extremely happy glow on her face. Sindhu couldn't help the lips from tugging into a happy smile as she splashed cold water over her face.
When she at last came out of her bathroom drying her face, Gautham also came back with the cake. He had two forks accompanying it of course.
They happily munched the cake sitting on the bed.
"Where is my gift???" Sindhu asked after a while extending her hand towards Gautham.
Gautham kept his fork down and pretended to search around the bed for a while. But then suddenly he turned back at her, "Tada, here is your bestest gift." He said enthusiastically keeping both his hands under his cheeks with a cheeky grin adorning his lips.
Sindhu instantly gagged on the cake. She even coughed a few times. She then looked at Gautham as if he was idiot- not that he wasn't- and rolled her eyes at his cheekiness.
"Hump…. You are not at all romantic." Gautham said folding his arms and looking away from her pouting. He even puffed his cheeks dramatically.
Sindhu couldn't help the smile that spread on her face as she saw him acting cute. She conceded and said just to play along with him, "Yea… yea… thank you very much for such a gracious gift." She tried to be sincere but she just couldn't get rid of the sarcasm.
This childish banter went on for a while when suddenly Gautham asked, "Are you full??"
"Yes…" Sindhu said cautiously. She did not have the energy for another round even if she had eaten to her hearts content. So she was calculating as to how to escape when Gautham suddenly got out of the bed keeping the empty plate on the bedside table and leaned away from her instead of towards her.
"Come on…" he called out to follow him but Sindhu refused to budge.
"I'm tired." She whined pitifully.
Gautham did not bother reply. He simply went up to her and scooped her on his back giving her a piggy back ride.
Sindhu comfortably leaned on his back with a big grin while looking around curiously as to where they were going.
Gautham came to a stop on front of one of the empty rooms in the house. There were actually two guest rooms in the house but one was kept empty.
That's why she asked, "Why are we here??" Sindhu asked as Gautham turned the knob.
Sindhu's jaws dropped when her eyes landed inside the room. Room was still empty but the cupboards were not. At least they were not anymore. Now it was all filled with all kinds of art supply.
Sindhu got down from behind him and went in for a closer look. There was everything. Rows and rows of paint and of course all sorts of brushes and mediums. And also on a corner laid different size canvas rolls.
Gautham had long noticed that Sindhu would silently sketch in the middle of the night some times.
Their works has been hectic for a while now. They barely had couple of hour free time at the end of the week. And her apartment was quite far from their home. To and fro in itself would take her a couple of hours which she cannot afford for now. So whenever she itched to paint, she contended herself by sketching them.
She looked around dazed and then at the man who read her without having to say anything. Her eyes betrayed her emotions as tears stumbled down. For some reason, at that moment she felt no words she ever say is going to sufficiently express the gratitude she felt towards him for being there in her life.
Gautham quietly walked towards and embraced her. He lifted her and cradled her in his arms as she sniffed over his shoulders. She held on to him desperately as if her life depended on it.
"Thank you baby… Thank you for being born so beautifully and coming into my life." Gautham said softly holding her tightly against him.
Seeing that she is not going to calm down any time soon, Gautham went to corner and sat down on the floor while Sindhu still clinging on to him like a koala.
"Hey…. Shhh… Baby, stop crying already. You shouldn't be crying on your birthday." Gautham said gently patting on her back. When he felt her crying so desperately without stopping for such a long time he felt helpless.
Sindhu pulled away facing him. Her eyes were red from all the crying.
Sindhu pouted with her flushed cheeks. "And whose fault is that??" She asked sniffling and sulking.
Gautham reached out and gently wiped her tears away.
"Of course it's your husbands fault. He is soo bad for making you cry like this. You can beat him up later to your hearts content okay??? Now you are a good baby right. SO stop crying." He said very softly comforting her as if he was comforting a little kid whild carefully wiping away the tears. Gautham was really not good at dealing with a crying Sindhu. His heart ached no matter if she was crying from happiness or sadness. That is why he would say anything and everything to make her stop.
Sindhu at last calmed down after what seemed like forever. Her whole face was red by then. She quietly leaned over and gave Gautham a lingering kiss on his cheeks and said softly, "thank you for the gift. You really are the best gift."
She then snuggled into his chest and went to sleep exhausted.
Gautham quickly took her to bed and snuggled with her with the most content smile.
