Little Purple

Chapter 108

Although she was late, her effort made a slight change to the direction of the glider. The edge of the sail slightly hit the cliff, so instead of a bloody crash, they fell into the raging river instead.

Splash.

The river separated both of them. Hu Zi who was a great swimmer, immediately worried about the weak cursed prince. She surfaced and held on to a big rock. "Lan!" she called again and again. Looking right and left. "Lan, where are you?"

Worried that the small prince was washed away, she gritted her teeth. Her anxiety was apparent in her eyes as let go of the rock, risking her life as she dived back in.

In this hectic situation, little did she realized what was ahead of the river. She surfaced after she ran out of air.

The cursed prince, who managed to bring their rucksacks to the shore, saw her surfaced. "Zi!" he shouted. Then, terror took him as he saw where the river led to. "Zi, watch out!"

Because he had been sucking her energy for months, he knew her capacity very well. Because she had been flying since morning, by this time, he predicted, she must've ran out of energy. Incapable of using much of it to save herself from the waterfall.

His prediction was slightly wrong though. Even though it was too late for her to swim to the shore, she still could use the wind to jump and landed to the forest below, but going up again would be a hassle.

She knew that she should be strong enough to survive, so she wasn't worried. But the cursed prince already jumped into the river. Who knew that he was an even better swimmer than Hu Zi?

Even in his weakened state, he still managed to grab her and brought her to the shore.

This shocked Hu Zi heavily. She was as worried that he would get washed away and face the waterfall as he was.

When they finally arrived at a safer place. Rather than being grateful, she was mad at him. "Why? Why did you jump back to the river?" she questioned. Gritting her teeth as she thought that he might be looking down on her power.

He said nothing, that rescuing managed to drain all of his strength. He was breathing hard as she further questioned him.

"Did you think that I might not be able to survive?" She frowned as she peered at the pale looking boy who laid weakly by her side. The hem on his clothes was wet and got pulled up when he laid down on the ground.

The dragon tattoo on his wrist was shown and it further made her feel confused. In this past months, she had been staying by his side. Every day was fun and amusing, but every time she saw that tattoo, her purple eyes grew darker and darker. She reached out her hand to the hem and covered the tattoo. Now looking at him not as a prince she married to investigate the Jin imperial family, but the boy she began to trust.

He coughed several times before finally opening his black eyes and looking into hers. "Why do you ask?"

His dark eyes were deep and unfathomable, but there was a touch of helplessness in them. His dark, fluttering eyelashes still had a few drops of water left, giving him an appearance of solemnity. Like a man that came from the land of dreams, sometimes he looked unreal and out of this world, while at other times, he looked like an ordinary man who seemingly lost a fragment of his soul.

"En." She simply didn't understand. Why would the man bearing the same symbol as the one who killed her entire family be willing to protect her to this extent?

He suddenly moved closer to her. "Isn't it obvious?" He reached out his hand toward her and touched her face gently. Under her surprised gaze, his eyes burned with a deep intensity as he stroked her face. "Even if you are the strongest person in heaven and earth, no matter what, you are still a woman. My woman."

Badump.

It felt like something shot her heart.

She questioned the feeling that suddenly made her chest feel warm. Her face was still pale, she was also tired, but there was a slight blush that she couldn't hide.

Thinking that she might get some sort of sickness, Jin Lan checked her body temperature by placing his hand in her forehead, further making her blushed. "We need to get out of this dangerous place immediately." He considered the probability of her getting sick. His body was still in that 'cursed' condition, he wouldn't be able to protect both of them if something very serious happened.

She looked at the blue-clothed boy intently. He was trying to get up, but couldn't because he was too weak and thirsty.

Maybe the one that began to submerge wasn't just the feeling of trust?

She placed her hand on her forehead, right at the place he touched earlier. "...What was that?"
