Little Purple

Chapter 49

Qing Li watched on without pity. "It was your own fault for not conceding!"

"You…" Qing Guang shot a glare at her and stood up. "How dare you..." She began to approach her.

"What? No, don't come closer! Mother!" Qing Li panicked when she saw Qing Guang's eyes. She ran to her mother and hid behind her.

"Stop! You are the one in that's wrong! Li-er was just trying to carry out justice for her cat. How could you suddenly scare her like that? It seems that you don't understand the weight of your crime."

The Madam gave one of the servants a glance. The servant immediately understood and seized Qing Guang once again. Another servant came to Madam Hong and gave her a dark red whip that he pulled from the black box.

At the sight of the whip, Qing Guang's body instantly began shaking, the world seeming to spin faster around her. That whip used to be a white color, but now it was red because of a very terrifying reason.

"Do you still remember this, my darling daughter?" The Madam smirked. "We used to play with it a lot when you were younger. At the time, your behavior was so uncontrollable that I needed to punish you everyday."

Suddenly, a servant announced, "The Master is here!"

"Oh, finally!" Madam Hong's eyes gleamed, her face was full of happiness. Qing Li also felt elated, but she still needed to put on her act so she tried to look as miserable as possible.

The sound of footsteps were getting louder and louder. Qing Quang gritted her teeth.

Her shrewd father always became an unreasonable man when it came to the wretched mother and daughter. If only her brother had arrived before her father, she would have still had some hope. But if it was her father who came first…

"What's happening here?" The Left Prime Minister said. His voice was deep and domineering, his posture straight and tall. Even though he was clearly not that young anymore, he still kept a fit figure.

"Father, Elder Sister… she… she killed my Xixi…" Qing Li ran toward her father and cried. "My poor Xixi.."

"Xixi? Who is Xixi?" Qing Peng frowned when he saw his precious daughter crying.

"Xixi is my cat, Father..."

"So Xixi is just a cat?" The Left Prime Minister frowned. "So what? If it is just a cat, you can simply pick up another one."

The Left Prime Minister's answer shocked Madam Hong, Qing Li, and even Qing Guang. If it was his usual attitude, he would have definitely protected Qing Li and punished Qing Guang.

Qing Li began to panic. Continuing with her act, she said, "But, but Xixi is special, Father!"

"Yes, my husband," Madam Hong said, "Qing Li loved Xixi very much but that wench killed it!"

"Silence! Did I give you permission to talk, woman?" His eyes were cold.

Madam Hong jolted.

Qing Guang felt that something was amiss. She looked at her father intently, but to her surprise, her father was looking at her too.

-----

Before, at the palace.

"Your Highness's fiancee? My daughter?" The Left Prime Minister, Qing Peng, almost dropped his tea. "Is that true, Your Highness?"

"Yes." Jin Min gave a simple smile. "My father wishes us to wed and will give the edict later on. Until then, please take care of my future wife in my place."

-----

Qing Peng studied Qing Guang's miserable appearance. "To think that he told me to take care…"

Qing Guang looked into his eyes. For a moment, she thought that her father had maybe finally realized that she was a human too. But, nope, there was nothing in those dark pair of eyes, there was definitely no concern for her well being, definitely no love. She had cold sweat forming on her forehead before Qing Peng spoke again.

"Who cut her hair?"
