Chapter 30.2 – Create a Dream Road that Connects Continents

One cold night.

After working at the lab, me and my fiancée, Laura-san, were having dinner with my father and my older brother.

It was an expensive restaurant in a safe neighborhood. The type of place where a commoner’s monthly earnings would fly off in one order.

「So, uhm, you’re saying that you’ll marry Sawadi as soon as he comes of age?」

「Yeah, that’s my plan.」

「That means we’ll need to buy a house there as well.」

「You can stay at my house for a while.」

「Laura-san, you’re just too lazy to move out, aren’t you?」

「I just unpacked my things so at least let me adjust more.」

My father looks awesome when I’m talking to Laura-san in a casual way.

「Anyway, this is a parent-child drinking exchange ceremony….father, please.」

「Okay, father, say no more. Let’s drink….」

I pacified my father’s reluctance and poured two glasses of sake and placed them in front of the two of us.

My older brother pointed out an empty glass in front of me as if saying “What about me? ”.

「I, Sawadi, will be in charge of this sake.」

「Here you go.」

The ceremony began solemnly as my older brother raised an empty glass to me.

Father and Laura-san exchange glasses with each other.

After drinking silently, they slammed their glasses on the floor.

The glass shattered into pieces and this marked the parent-child drinking exchange ceremony.

Of course, it is not valid since it was between a noble and a commoner.

It’s a gesture of concern from me and Laura-san to my father, a commoner.

It means that we are family at heart.

「Laura-dono, my son, please take care of Sawadi….」

「Of course but it might be me who’ll he take care of.」

A father and daughter who have just become parent and child hold hands tightly and smile at each other.

I poured sake into my older brother’s glass when he started tugging my sleeve.

Like my father, my older brother and I are inseparable too.

He’s a little unreliable but we have to support each other.
