Lone Harem Meister Chapter 22: Loner’s Courage

“Okay then, make sure to revise what we did until now. Class president, can you please?”

“Stand up! Bow!”

『Thank you very much.』

And like that, the first half of the day was done. It is now lunch break.

“Alright, let’s go buy some bread for today’s lunch.”

Since I didn’t bring my lunch box with me due to Yuki’s underwear uproar, I had no choice but to go purchase it. There should have be a war going on in the cafeteria right about now, so I decided to l just buy whatever bread was left and eat it at the usual place.

“Let’s go then….”

I  left the classroom. As I was making my way to the stairs on the first floor, something from behind clutched my collar and pulled me back.

“Gue!?”

“… Found you.”

“Huh, Utano? You could’ve just called me instead of drawing my collar.”

“… Don’t worry. You won’t die.”

Such an extreme way of thinking. I won’t die, but it is still dangerous. Really, she doesn’t seem to be sorry at all.

“So, what is it?”

“… Yuki gave you this. As well as a message.”

Utano handed me a lunch box and a paper.

“…Hinata wanted to tell you this: ‘You can drop by the infirmary during your lunch break. Since people don’t show up here at this time, we can eat lunch together.’”

“Okay. Let’s go to the infirmary then.”

“… I left my lunch box in the staff room. You can go ahead.”

“I see. Well then, later.”

Now that it’s been decided that I should head to the infirmary, let’s read Yuki’s message. I wonder what she wrote in it.

“Let’s see…”

Yuuki,

We need to talk about today’s underwear matter. We’ll tak at work. In case you’re absent, expect punishment.

Yuki.

“Waaaーーーー!!? What is this? Should I consider it as a threat?! I don’t feel like going there now….”

I decided to just stop thinking about it, and wanted to enjoy my delicious lunch.

“Alright… Let’s forget about the threatening letter and go the infirmary.”

I descended the stairs and opened the door.

“Excuse me.”

“Oya? Yuuki. Looks like Utano got the message to you.”

“I just heard about it now though.”

“That’s just fine. Let’s eat lunch first.”

“… You there?”

Utano came in from behind; perfect timing.

“Both of you can sit on that sofa and eat.” Hinata said.

“… Okay.”

Utano and I sat next to each other while Hinata started eating at her desk.

“Digging in.”

“… me too.”

Who thought that the day where I will eat together with someone at school would ever come? Because of Yuki, Utano, and Hinata, the time I spend alone has drastically decreased. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m still a loner in class. I guess that’s because I have no friends in the same year as me to talk with.

“… It’s good.”

“It is, indeed. Yuki is a skilfull women as usual.” Hinta commented.

“Right? It more of a miracle to have her as my girlfriend.”

I wonder how long it’s been since I last ate a handmade lunch box. This is the first time I’m eating one since my mother had passed. My heart felt kinda warm.

“… You okay?” Utano asked.

“Yeah. I was just getting a bit sentimental, don’t mind me.”

“…I see”

“Are you here, Miss Kanaya.”

A freshman, by the looks of it, entered the infirmary. Every student had a ribbon which detailed the year they were in. Third year had a red ribbon, second year, blue, and first years had a  yellow one. That was of course for female students. Male students were  defined by the color of their necktie.

The girl who stepped inside had a yellow ribbon.

“What would it be?” Hinata responded.

“I grazed my skin in today’s sports lesson. I washed the wound with water and I want a bandage to cover it. That’s why I came here~”

The girl spoke in a funny way. She is pretty cute though. Her ash-colored hair barely reached her shoulder, and it looked as if she applied some make up.

“I get it. I will cover it in a bandage after I sterilize it.”

“Eeh! No, it will hurt.”

[ED: Hinata is likely using alcohol]

“Endure it for a moment. C’mon, show me your arm.”

“Oka–y. UU!? Ah!?”

“Being careful to avoid injuries is better than having to do this, Right?”

“Thank you very much.”

I could see she grazed her elbow. I found it surprising to see Hinata, who’s practically irresponsible most of the time, looking so professional as a nurse.

“You seem to have something to say, Yuuki.”

“No, I thought that you’re doing a great job as the school’s nurse. I’m just a little impressed.”

“… Same”  Utano Chimed in.

Seems like Utano and I had the same thoughts. .

“Humu…that’s pretty rude. It takes at least this much to be a the health director of the school.”

This time I didn’t feel anything after listening to what she just said….

“You seem to be in a friendly term with this person, Miss.Kanaya.”

This first year girl student hadn’t left yet.

“Right? He’s my son.”

“Seriously!?”

“No”

“Why did you lie to me?!”

Don’t tease the first year girl. Why should she act like that towards everyone? Guess all her acquaintances have a hard time with her. Well, I’m one of them.

“… You lose if you ask.”

“Stop right there! That’s enough.” Yuuki spoke up.

“Well, I’m sorry about that, first year girl. This person is made up to be like this, you have no choice but to give up.”

“That’s fine.” The girl then looked towards me. “So, who are you?”

“… You will be surprised if you hear it.” Hinata said.

“He’s a famous person in this school!” Utano added.

You too, Utano?!

“Like I said, stop making fun of the girl. Well, my name is Kiriyama Yuuki. You must have hear of me.”

“…? Never heard of it actually. I’m Kirishima Kaori. You can call me Kaorin if you want.”

I’m grateful of the extra wink with the self-introduction, but what’s Kaorin?! Hm… is it from the name Kirishima?

“You can call me Hinanatan too.”

I feel like this rings a bell. Whatever. Hinata’s ability to adapt with the mood is impressive. She enjoys every single conversation.

“… You can call me Utanon.”

“Oh, not you too, Utano!?”

“Haha, that’s funny! Senpai, nice to meet you! Kaori is off to eat her lunch!!”

“Careful to not hurt yourself again.”

“Ye~s”

Kirishima has finally left. She was quite an amiable person. With that character and cute looks of hers, she must be definitely popular.

“Well then, we should hurry up lunch and move back to our jobs.”

“You’re right.”

We spent our left time eating and chatting around until everyone went back to his work.

“Hmm… I’m pretty sure I heard the name Kirishima somewhere.”

(TLN: this guy got a very bad memory apparently.)

It’s been in my chest all this time. I wonder where I heard it…

“With this, everyone be careful when returning home.”

While I was immersed in thoughts, the home room called its end. Well then, I should go to work now. No, I have misworded that last sentence. I should go to execution.

Right now, I’m leisurely heading to Yuki’s bookshop and arrived next to a pedestrian crossing.

“Oh, Green, how lucky.”

The red light in this place last for a long period, so I’ve arrived in a good timing. While it’s still green let’s cross… huh!?

“Wait:?”

There was a car that didn’t stop!? I halted my steps for a while, but once I took notice of a girl wearing my school’s uniform, my body moved on its own.

“Watch out!!”

I dashed with all my might and pushed her away by tackling her right shoulder. However, the car now was in front of my eyes.

“Ah…”

Right when I felt that I was floating, everything went dark.
