Love is a Sweet Poison

Miyuki came into the room with the trays of food. "I have returned with dinner." She laid the trays in front of the three people that had not eaten.

Behind Miyuki was Sara and she brought in tea and some water for Mayumi to drink. She placed the tea down and then sat next to Mayumi. "My poor Mayumi. Are you okay?" Sara starts to inspect Mayumi before she calms down. 

"Sara!" Mayumi throws herself into Sara. "I was scared earlier but Uncle and Grandmother took care of that person. I am okay but I missed you. I am so glad that you are back." 

"You are safe with me little one. I will not let anything happen to you." Sara pats Mayumi on the top of her head and runs her hand down her back. "Tomorrow, I will braid your hair. I learned it from my mother and it will make you cuter than you already are." 

Edna rushes back to the room and looks at the group, "Gabriel, When? No, what? Ugh, I can't even think about what to ask." 

"Mother, please come and sit with us and I will explain." Gabriel had an arm wrapped around Amelia's waist just in case she blacked out again. "The paintings I started when the school year started. Amelia is in her first year and I am in my third year. So when I saw her for the first time I was drawn to her but I never took the time to talk to her in person and if I had you would automatically make an arranged marriage meeting. I didn't want that to get forced upon the beauty I saw. So, I locked my feelings up and painted her. Every time I saw a new expression I would paint it. It eased my heart." 

Amelia picked up her teacup and took a sip. "Sometimes I wonder if we would've gotten together if we took the courage to talk to each other but that is no longer an issue as we are now with each other. Itadakimasu." Amelia picked up the chopsticks and started to munch on the meal in front of her. 

"So that really does explain why you would do whatever you could to break the other meetings. I understand better now. I think that my favourite so far is the one where Amelia is sitting under the cherry blossoms. I know that it is not a finished work of art but would you allow me to hang it up when you finish it?" Edna smiles happily and watches Amelia eat slowly.

"Yes, Mother. I agree with you that the painting should be on display. I will finish it before the wedding ceremony. I can not wait for the world to find out that Amelia is mine and only mine." Gabriel gently squeezes her side and smiles. "Itadakimasu." He starts to eat his meal.

"Ah, I am so blessed. I have such a lovely family." Edna smiles and is beaming happiness. 

Mayumi says, "Itadakimasu," then starts to eat happily.

"None at all, Mayumi is just the sweetest little girl ever." Amelia looked up at Suzuka, "How are you doing?" 

"I am very well. The baby is starting to kick and I thought if you were awake that maybe you would like to feel?" Suzuka walks to the table and sits down slowly.

Amelia got up and went over to Suzuka and gently placed her hand on her belly. She felt a kick and smiled. "Hello, little one. I will pray for your safe arrival." In response to Amelia taking the baby kicked her hand.

"This little one has been more active than Mayumi was. I'm thinking that we might be having a boy this time but it is hard to be sure." Suzuka places her hand on her belly and rubs it in small circles. 

'Everything is a bit out of sorts I need to return to Gabriel before I blackout again.' Amelia got back up as the room started to spin and went back to her food. She slowly sat down and leaned her head on Gabriel's shoulder. She closed her eyes and let the darkness take over. 

Gabriel felt her go deadweight on his side and he lifted her up and walked to the bed and laid her in the covers. He kissed her forehead then went back to his food. "She will be okay but it was better that she came to me as you would not be able to support her weight in your condition. Miyuki we will leave her food here and if she gets hungry she can munch on what is left over." 

"Okay, if that is what you want then that is what we will do. Miyuki bowed and stated at the side but kept glancing at Amelia with deep concern. 

Edna looked at everything that happened, "is this a new symptom of her illness?" 

"Yes and no. It is new for us but apparently, after she has a major attack a few days later she starts to have blackouts. This would explain why she would not be a school every two to three days. She sometimes would look really pale and other times look like nothing was wrong. Her friends kept a close eye on her. Ami and Sachi are both wonderful people." Gabriel looks over at Amelia. "Speaking of those two I seem to remember that they said that they would be coming over sometime this weekend." 

"I will welcome them. If they do come I will get Miyuki to come and set up the bedding in Amelia's bedroom." Edna looked from her son to Miyuki. 

"But, of course, I will go and get the bedding sets and bring them here." Miyuki got up and left the room to collect the bedding as requested.

Mayumi finished eating, "Gochisousama, That was so tasty!" She got up and went to her mother's side and placed her hand on Suzuka's stomach. "I can't wait to hold you, baby. I bet you will look as adorable as me." 

Suzuka patted Mayumi on the head and smiled sweetly. "You will be a good big sister and help me take care of the baby won't you?" 

"Yes, Mother. I want to help you take care of the baby." Mayumi's eyes lit up when she felt the baby kick. She kisses the spot the baby kicked.

"Gochisousama." Gabriel got up and went to Amelia's side and picked up her hand. He patted it and watched as she rested. "Today she had a dream and she didn't want to tell me what it was. I think that she would like to have a child of her own so I hope that we can help her become stronger so that the dream becomes a reality." 

"Then we will do everything in our powers to make it work." Ami stands at the door and looks in. "Sorry to barge in Miyuki let us in." 

Sachi walked over to Edna and handed over a box of sweets to her. "My father has also asked me to see if a date was picked." 

Gabriel looked up and smiled at the two. "We settled on the closest date. I hope that Fujiwara-san is okay with that choice." 

"There will be no issues at all. I think that the sooner the better as well." Sachi smiled though in her eyes there was a bit of sadness.

Ami walked over to Amelia, "Blackouts? She was due for those a few days ago. If they are hitting later then that means there might be some improvement." She looked down at Amelia's wrists and quickly pulled the sleeve up. "What happened!?!?!?"

Sachi gasps and runs over to Amelia. "Ami, Do you think that it was…" She gives the other girl an all-knowing look.

"If you are thinking that it was that bastard Yukimura, then you are right. It happened after we went to the school on Friday. I have applied the bruise cream and this is less than what it was." Gabriel shook his head. 

Ami has a fire of anger in her eyes as she places the hand down and gets up, "I will kill him." She was about to rush out of the room when she felt a tug on the edge of her yukata.

"Please don't stir up any trouble on my defence. He is not worth your time and effort Ami." Amelia let the yukata go and looked up at her friends. "Sachi, please don't cry." Amelia pulled out and handkerchief and held it out to her friend.

Sachi took the handkerchief and dried her eyes. "Thank you, I am just concerned about you. My tears are for you and only you."
