Love is a Sweet Poison

Walking up to him she held out her arms and wrapped them around his back. "I couldn't sleep. It's strange to say that I am now used to cuddling with you and that when I try to sleep on my own it doesn't feel the same." She rests her head on his shoulder. 

"I know what you mean. I was getting ready for sleep and I was in bed but I laid there for what felt like an eternity. So I got up and started painting. If I can't sleep I might as well be productive." He holds her but doesn't touch her back with his hands. "I will be back. I need to get the paint off my hands before I can hug you properly." He kisses the top of her head and steps away from Amelia.

"You might want to wipe your face as well. There is a bit of paint on your cheek." Amelia let him go and walked over to his bedding and laid down under the covers. 

"I will be quick." Gabriel leaves the room and walks to the bathroom and places his hand in the bucket of water and starts to rinse the paint off his hands and the paintbrushes he brought with him. He set the brushes to the side before wiping the side of his face. Once he was done he dumped the water out and placed the bucket upside down. 'I was so lost in painting. I wonder how long she stood at the door waiting for me? Not that she minds but I do.' He lets out and sigh and wipes his face with a towel then walks back to the bedroom. He walks through the door and goes to her. 

"You were right that your room smells like paint but with the door open your room smells like fresh air from outside." Amelia holds her arms out waiting for Gabriel to come and join her. 

He slips in beside her. Immediately pulling her into his embrace. "Now let's get some sleep. You look as tired as I feel." He kisses her forehead and watches as her eyes droop and she succumbs to sleep. "I am so lucky." He gently kisses her on the lips before passing out. 

The girls wake up in the morning to 0find that Amelia is not sleeping with them and Ami panics. "What- no where?" 

Miyuki gets up and cleans up her bedding, bringing it back to her bedroom before coming back. "Amelia and Young Master have been inseparable since she started to live here."

"Ami if you start freaking out I will be forced to tie you up. If Miyuki is not panicking then we have no reason to panic. Instead, you and I can start the needlepoint assignment while we wait for her return." Sachi gets up and stretches. "Besides you need all the time that you can get for that type of a project." 

Gabriel woke up to Amelia still sleeping in his arms but there was a light knock on the door. "Come in." 

Miyuki slides the door open. "I am glad to see that both of you are resting well together. I have checked on breakfast and it will be ready in about half an hour. I just thought that you would like to know. Oh, and Amelia's guests noticed that she was no longer in bed." 

"Thank you for informing me. She was having issues sleeping and came to me. She could've taken the sleeping aid but she came to me anyways. I will make sure that she returns to the room shortly." Gabriel was drawing circles on Amelia's back and smiling. 

"Alright. I will head back now. See you shortly." Miyuki closed the door and walked away giggling.

Amelia snuggled her sleepy body closer. And sighed in her sleep. Gabriel pulled her closer and looked at her eyes waiting for her to wake up naturally on her own.

Amelia awoke ten minutes later. She looked up at him blinking. "Good morning." 

"Good morning, Angel. I would ask how you slept but considering that you were by my side all night I can tell that you slept very well." He felt her nod her head. "Ami and Sachi are awake. I am willing to bet that they were worried about you when they saw that you were not in the room when they woke up"

"Sachi knows. I was tossing and turning. It was her suggestion to come to you or take the sleeping medicine. I didn't want the medicine, I wanted to be with you." Amelia holds onto his yukata refusing to look him in the eyes but also from moving away from his embrace.

"Ahhhh, then I can see why you are worried about going back but you need to face your demon questioning friends." Gabriel chuckles and kisses her before she could reply. One kiss, two kisses, three kisses and then he lets her go. "I'll come with you. That way you do not face the wrath alone." He opens his arms.

Amelia rolls away slightly, then sits up slowly, she yawns and covers her mouth. "Okay, as long as you do not abandon me to the thousands of questions. It was hard enough to say that you have kissed me multiple times." She looks at the painting that Gabriel had been working on.

"I do not mind. I will tell them that I will not stop kissing you and that you have dubbed me the kissing fiend." He follows her eyes and gets up. "It is almost complete. I have a bit more that I need to 0add but it is mostly the finer details. If you think it will be a good distraction we can bring it with us." He wakes over to the painting and carries it back to her so that she can see the finer details.

"Thas looks exactly like me. I can see where a little more detail is needed but if you did not know what you are looking for you would never know that it is incomplete. Let's bring it with us. We can definitely use it as bait." Amelia giggles handing the painting back and slowly getting up. She trips on the bunched up blanket. 

Gabriel dropped the painting and immediately caught Amelia. "Are you hurt anywhere?" Seeing her nod no he lets up the breath of air that he was holding. "Thank goodness. I don't want to see you hurt. He picks her up and carries her away from the bedding and sets her on the floor to stand up. 

"Th-thank you." Amelia was blushing and holding onto his sleeve even after he placed her down on the ground. 

"I will catch you every time you fall and I will lift you up when you are weak. You are mine to keep safe and sound. I do not want to spend a single day without you in it." He steps away but keeps his arm stretched out and reaches for the painting. He picks it up and then is back to standing beside her. "Breakfast will be ready soon. You also need to take your medication." 

Amelia nods her head and starts to walk to the door holding onto his sleeve. The two walk back to her room and she walks in as the door is already open. "Good Morning." 

Sachi turns her head and smiles. "Good morning to the lovebirds." She watches as Amelia's face goes bright red.

"I was so worried when I woke up and you were not here. Are you okay?" Ami drops the needlework and rushes to Amelia's side. 

Gabriel held out the painting which caused Ami to stop in her tracks. "Oh my! This is so lovely. Did you paint this as well Gabriel?" 

Gabriel sighed, "You sure ask a lot of questions, but yes. I did indeed paint this one. You should get back to your assignment or else it will never get done." 

"Yes, Dad." Ami 0says with heavy sarcasm. "And here I thought Sachi and Amelia were bad but you are as well."

Amelia shakes her head, "well if my daughter didn't leave her homework to the last minute then we would have to discuss this every day. Now would we?" 

Sachi starts laughing, "I'm the nagging big sister in this little family and also the biggest tattletale. Amelia is the only one that can keep Ami on track so when there is an issue and I fine out about it so does Amelia." 

"Welcome to the complex friendship I have." Amelia giggles and shakes her head. She walks to her spot against the wall and leans there.
