Love is a Sweet Poison

"Gochisosama!" Mayumi finished her food and looked at Amelia. "Auntie is a good person." She kissed Amelia's cheek then smiled at her.

"No it is Mayumi who is a good girl. Gabriel, Miyuki and I will get the children ready." Amelia helped Mayumi yup and then got up slowly.

Miyuki got up and lent her a hand so that she would not fall over. "I will take the children to the bathroom and you can change your shoes in the meantime."

"Ah, thank you. I am grateful for your assistance." Amelia lets go of Miyuki's arm. "You both will be safe with Miyuki."

"No worries, it is part of my job but as your friend I would do it as many times as you would need the help. I will take the young ones to the bathroom and along the way I will ask Sara to bring the childrens' shoes to the room." Miyuki holds her hands out to the children.

Amelia gently pushed both to Miyuki. "I will be waiting for you both to come back. I am excited to go on the walk." Amelia smiled and watched the two walk to Miyuki and hold her hand while they walked out of the room.

"You really are leaving the house. I for a moment thought that you were joking but you are really leaving. I will stick to your advice but I don't think that father will be all that happy to see me. I am mentally freaking out but I will let you five go on your adventure." Kazuki walked out of the room completely shocked.

"Well this has been an interesting day. I know that you do not know my family but since they are going to be yours as well then you might as well get used to the tricks my mother likes to pull. I am sure since y9ou are unwell she will not do anything to you. Your condition is fragile." Gabriel walked to Amelia slowly and hugged her. "Although I like the others it is really nice to have a moment to ourselves."

"I am always with you whether it is in person or not. I will always leave you with a piece of my heart." Her hand touched over his heart. She leaned her head on his shoulder and looked up at him. "My heart belongs to you."

Gabriel placed his hand over hers as he felt that their hearts were beating in sync. "As your heart belongs to me, mine belongs solely to you. I will stop at nothing to keep you alive and I am grateful that the goddess of the mountain gifted you such a rare treat. I will help you with keeping it clean. While we are flower hunting let's leave some for them."

"I had Miyuki move the flower arrangement I did the first day I was here to the shrine. I will check on that but more flowers are not a bad idea especially if we gather them ourselves." Amelia blushed and looked down.

Gabriel lifted up her chin and kissed her lips softly. A light quick kiss as he was not used to this yet and it caused him to blush. Then he guided her to the door. "I will help you change your shoes."

Amelia felt the kiss and her face exploded with blush not trusting her words she nodded her head as he led her to the outside door and helped her sit down. "Thank you but I am able to change my shoes myself…"

"Shhhhhh, let me do at least this much for you." Gabriel placed a finger on her lips to stop her protests. "I know that this is not normal but this is something that I need to do in order to calm my mind. I want to do things for you that no one else would do for you."

Amelia nodded her head and sat down slowly with Gabriel's help. She watched him change into his shoes from the slippers he had been wearing inside her room. "Gabriel, I have been wondering why me?"

"Why, I would want you over others?" Gabriel asks this. He sees her nod her head as he begins to change her slippers to shoes. "That is simple. You are a carefree spirit that is pure and lovely. When I looked at you, you made my heart race. That is one of the reasons I destroyed so many marriage meetings. When your heart settles on the one it is hard to think about anyone else. Don't you think so?"

"Yes, I get what you are saying. I guess I am just surprised that I only saw you in passing but you feel for me harder than one could imagine. That is not to say I didn't fall for you as well but infatuation is not love. I felt like you were too far out of my reach. We read a lot of the same books. Sometimes, I would read them first and other times you would get the book first. That's when I realized that we were studying the same thing." Amelia blushed and watched as he finished changing her shoes.

"I noticed that as well. Now we can sit together and the books that you do not have access to I can take them out so that you can read them. I think it is ridiculous that you are not able to advance your studies when your grades are on par with mine. That is all I can do." Gabriel helped her stand up and held her hand.

"Thank you, it is not a big deal. It was not like I could become a doctor but the more I study medicine I was hoping that I would be able to cut the costs for my parents. The medicine I needed was quite expensive and I wanted to lessen the burden on them. Gabriel, you make me happy." Amelia smiled and pulled out the handkerchief and offered it to him. "May we live long and be prosperous together."

Gabriel reached out his hands and took the handkerchief from her and unfolded it. "This is lovely. I will keep it with me at all times. The embroidery is very well done. I would love to know who did it…" He looked at her blushing and covering her face. "You did this?"

"I worked hard on it after you left. I asked Mother Edna and Miyuki what colors you liked. I was worried that it would turn out too girly but I am glad that you like it. It took a lot of time to make and I know that it is not easy to be away. So I thought that if you had something that I made with you, it would ease your mind a little bit." Amelia looked down and was blushing hard.

"Like it doesn't describe how I feel about it. I love it. You are amazing at embroidery. I know that is one of the classes they make you ladies take. Do you have any other works that you would not mind showing me?" Gabriel smiled happily.
