Love, Jerk, and Affair

Chapter 24:Meaningless talk

"What are you doing here?" asked Adriana curtly.

"Because we need to talk, Honey," Mark answered sadly. He was still at the door because Adriana had not invited him to enter.

Adriana stared curtly at Mark who returned to call him "Honey". to her it sounded like trash because she already knew that he didn't love her.

"Oh, but I don't think we need to talk anymore, honey. because I'm sick of seeing your face!" Adriana cried sarcastically. She crossed her feet and turned her face, staring at the right side of the front of the house where there are several pots filled with flowers lined up neatly on the terrace.

"Adriana, please give me a chance to explain everything. It's not as bad as you think, because I realize that I love you," said Mark with a pleading look. He looked down and grabbed Adriana's hand and held it.

"We need to talk heart to heart and solve this problem with a cool head, Adriana," he continued.

Adriana exhaled roughly then turned around to look into the house, then looked back at Mark. "We'll talk elsewhere, but I have to ask mommy's permission first."

"I'm waiting," said Mark, nodding.

Adriana immediately returned to the dining room and approached her son who was being fed by his grandmother.

"Who's coming?" asked Emma as she looked at Adriana who had just returned.

"Mark. Mom," said Adriana and then returned to say, "I have to talk to him, but maybe not here."

"Don't be too long, I'm worried that Evan will cry looking for you. Or are you going to take him?" exclaimed Emma

"No, Mom. He was playing and this is also a talk of domestic matters, it's not good to hear a childlike Evan," said Adriana while glancing at her son who was running a small toy car to the edge of the dining table while munching on the food that was fed by his grandmother.

"All right, solve your problem and think of a decision that you think is right and good for all of you," said Emma with a pitying look at Adriana who was standing behind the chair occupied by Evan.

"Yes, Mom."

Adriana walks back into the living room where Mark is waiting for her by sitting on the sofa. She glanced at her husband sarcastically.

"Come on," she said curtly.

Mark immediately got up from the sofa and walked over to Adriana and then took her hand. he was about to hold his wife's hand as usual when going to walk together.

"No need for this!" exclaimed Adriana while shaking Mark's hand until he released his grip on her hand. "You have to remember that we are not like before, even we are going to get divorced!"

"I will not divorce you!" said Mark irritatedly as he walked forcibly pulling Adrian out of the house to his car which was parked in the yard.

"Where are we going to talk?" asked Adriana irritably.

"Come in," Mark exclaimed curtly as he opened the car door.

Adriana was forced to enter immediately because she wanted everything to be over and to be able to escape the bondage of her marriage with Mark, who no longer respected her as a wife at all.

Mark immediately got into the car and drove it to the road. Who knows where he will take his wife who as if it will not give him a chance.

Elsewhere, Zach is having breakfast at a cafe with a classic interior design on the theme of love. Lots of romantic words and symbols of love are engraved on wood and pasted on the light brown walls. The man sat on the edge of the chair while eating French fries and enjoying coffee with a man who looked the same age as him.

"What if we work together? I got a project." The man spoke with a seductive smile as if he had just found a treasure.

"What project?" asked Zach, squinting.

"Of course about the photographer. I will be defeated if I take the project alone, so I invite you because you are already professional too," explained the man then took French fries and poked on the chili sauce, then ate it.

"You said you were going to get a divorce, why are you still together?" muttered Zach wondering what he had seen.

"Hey! Who's getting divorced?" asked the man, because he heard Zach's words.

"Robin, you wait here for a moment," said Zach and then took the hat worn by the man named Robin. He put on the black hat and immediately got up from the chair.

Zach walked to a chair that was a bit close to Adriana and Mark while looking down, hiding his face so that they wouldn't be seen by them. He sat in a chair with his back to Mark. They were about three meters apart. Maybe the man will be eavesdropping.

"Just talk, NO statement required!" exclaimed Adriana firmly looking at Mark who was holding the food menu catalog in the cafe.

"Adriana, don't you think about what will happen to our child if we are going to divorce? Please give me a chance to improve our marriage."Mark put the catalog on the table and looked at Adriana with a pleading look.

"I've thought and the best way for us is divorce. You don't have to worry about Evan, he's used to not getting your attention. So if we are divorced, he will also get used to being away from you," said Adriana curtly.

"It's easy for you to say that, but you don't understand how Evan feels. I also want to survive because I love you."

"You say, love? If you loved us, there would be no cheating drama!" said Adriana in a slightly high tone. she's emotional.

Mark took a deep breath then exhaled. he glanced at his wife who was still refusing. The man was confused and squeezed his hair in frustration.

"Adriana, between me and Maura is complicated. I love her because she already filled my heart before you, it's hard to avoid her coming back. Moreover, you often act indifferently to me, of course, I am looking for an outlet and she comes. I can not deny my mistakes but I also can not if I have to be apart from you!" Mark said honestly.

Plakk...

Adriana also slapped Mark. she stared angrily at her husband who even blamed her. "You said I ignored you? I did because your attitude changed too!"

"How do I change? I'm like this and you also know me enough, what should I do, Adriana?" Mark asked as if completely oblivious to his mistake.

Mark looked sarcastically at Mark, then looked away. he looked at a wood-engraved "Genuine love is unconditional love, accept what is and understand each other" she turned to look at Mark who did not love her sincerely from the start.

"Mark, you're just making me an outlet, right? never mind, there's no need to pull me back in your fake love trap. I couldn't possibly be with a husband who loved another woman more than his wife. If we survive only the wounds that you will plant for me." Adriana said slowly, her eyes staring sadly at Mark who had hurt her. No, she shouldn't cry and look weak.

"But I love you, Adriana." Mark touched the back of Adriana's hand.

"No, Mark. I know you don't love me. you just feel like losing me who is always by your side, you're just not used to it. Maybe if I come back with you, you will easily get bored because you don't love me."Adriana pulled her hand so that Mark didn't touch.

"No, Adriana. I wouldn't be like that. I ...." before Mark had time to finish his words, suddenly his smartphone rang. He immediately grabbed his smartphone from his pants pocket and saw a call from Maura.

"Just pick up, I'm okay," said Adriana, who had guessed that it was Maura who contacted her husband. she chose to turn her face, let the man speak from the phone about his affair.

"Hello," said Mark when he answered the phone from Maura.

"I will go!" said Maura from the phone.

Instantly Mark got out of the chair with a look of discomfort. His heart was beating faster and the image of a few years ago Maura left him flashed back in his mind, making him afraid of being left behind again.

"No, don't go Maura!" exclaimed Mark sternly. his eyes stared at the outside of the cafe, ignoring Adriana who was still in front of him.

Adriana smiled sarcastically at Mark's words. 'You say you love me but still think about other women. you are the most naive man in the world, Mark,' she thought irritated and more and more convinced to just ask for a divorce.
