Love, Jerk, and Affair

The long-awaited day has arrived. today, it's time for Adriana to attend her divorce hearing because she has received a summons from the court. she was accompanied by Amanda because coincidentally she was not in college. The two of them took a taxi to the court.

During the trip, Adriana was silent while gazing at the scenery through the car window. A tinge of sadness etched on her beautiful face. Anyone who is facing a divorce must feel nervous and sad. Divorce hurts more than just breaking up with your boyfriend. that's how Adriana felt.

"Sis, are you okay?" asked Amanda, who had seen her sister's behavior as if she was holding back feelings.

"I'm fine, just a little nervous," Adriana answered quietly. she felt her heart beating faster than usual. the feeling was almost the same as when she was about to get married. However, what she will face is divorce.

"You look pale, Sis. Don't you want a divorce?" Amanda asked again, feeling worried for her sister.

"I wanted this. Don't worry, I can deal with all of this as long as Evan, mom and you always with me," Adriana smiled as if to reassure her that she was fine. Even though she felt very fragile and hurt.

after arriving at the court, Adriana and Amanda immediately got off the taxi. They walked into the court building which was quite magnificent in classic style. they headed for the waiting room where several married couples were waiting their turn to be tried.

Adriana looked at Mark who was sitting with Dave. She also sat a little apart from her husband, while waiting for the summons from the court officials.

"No, I'm afraid he'll be sad to see this parting," Adriana answered without turning to look at Dave.

Dave nodded in understanding and fell silent again. sometimes he glanced at Amanda who had been watching him for a long time. Feeling caught, the girl immediately turned her face away. The man smiled slightly at the behavior of Adriana's sister, while Mark was silent without a word. sometimes she squeezes his fingers because he feels frustrated about facing a divorce trial.

"Today we have decided that Mrs. Greceline Adriana Peterson and Mr. Mark William Anderson are officially divorced," the magistrate said, tapping a brownish-black hammer on the court table.

Adriana exhaled roughly, bowed, and closed her eyes. After the decision was made. The young mother tried to accept the reality she chose. With a divorce from Mark, now she is officially unmarried.

Adriana turned to Mark who was sitting beside her. Her eyes filled with tears when she met the man who had been her husband. Likewise, Mark also looked sadly at the mother of his son, who is now an ex-wife.

Mark shook his head as if asking Adriana not to cry, while Dave and Amanda just sat silently listening to the trial that had been decided by the magistrate.

After the trial was over, the witnesses immediately and the magistrate was out. in the room there were only Adriana, Amanda, Mark, and Dave.

Mark approached Adriana who was sitting down, unable to hide her sadness. Because every separation must leave a wound, even though the separation has become her choice.

"Don't cry. this is our fate," said Mark as he gently stroked Adriana's hair. His ex-wife was silent and nodded, then wiped her tears that she couldn't hold back from falling.

Adriana got up from the chair and looked at Mark who looked sad. while Dave and Amanda stared lazily at Mark who was a jerk and a liar. For them, once a jerk always a jerk.

"Take good care of Evan, I'll be coming to see him often," said Mark, then hugged Adriana one last time.

Adriana sobbed in the arms of her ex-husband. The man closed his eyes and kissed his ex-wife's fragrant hair. He tried to contain his sadness because this is the path they chose because together will only continue to carve wounds.

"If you're in trouble, call me or Dave. Evan will stay with you but he is still my responsibility. I will not take it from you," said Mark firmly. Because he could not bear to separate the mother from her child.

Realizing that her position is now not Mark's wife, Adriana immediately let go of the hug and wiped her tears roughly. "Sorry. I got carried away."

"I'm the one who apologized for hurting you. I hope you can find a better man and not be a jerk like me." Mark looks humble. But still, he looks like an asshole!

"Yes, of course." Adriana smiled and nodded. Of course, she will look for a man who sincerely loves her, not only pity and give fake love.

"Take care of yourself and Evan," said Mark who was still caring. maybe if he had met Maura, he would have forgotten his child and ex-wife.

"You don't have to worry about Evan, he's always safe and happy with me," Adriana replied with a smile but there was still sadness on her face.

"Yes I know, because you are a good and loving mother."

Adriana turned to look at her ring finger which was still attached to Mark's wedding ring. She immediately took off the ring, which was probably very expensive, because her ex-husband was a wealthy businessman.

"This is a ring from you, I will return it," said Adriana as she handed the ring.

"You keep it," said Mark, shaking his head to reject the ring.

"What are we divorced for?"

"Keep it as a memory or you can sell it if you need money," said Mark

"Okay, then I'll go home now," said Adriana. He immediately took Amanda out of the courtroom, then took a taxi home.

Mark just stared at Adriana's departure. he closed his eyes and massaged his forehead because he felt dizzy, having let go of the woman who had accompanied him for several years.

"Are you sorry?" Dave asked sarcastically.

"I don't know," said Mark, still confused.

"You hypocrite!" sneered Dave scornfully. he immediately left Mark without taking him home with him. The young man walked to his car and immediately drove to Adriana's house. Hmm, is he trying to get close to his former sister-in-law?
