She turned around to face Jean. She could not believe what she just heard.

"What did you just say?" Mandy asked nervously.

"I'm pregnant, Mom." Jean smiled bitterly. "This is what has been bothering me for the past few days. I know I haven't been kind to you, but I honestly don't know what to do."

After speaking, Jean covered her face and burst into tears.

In a hurry, Mandy walked towards Jean's side and asked, "Are you telling the truth? Are you really pregnant?"
