Love The Psycho

Jenny wore her pyjamas and picked a few bags of garbage and walked out of their apartment to throw away. She also wore a pair of rubber slippers. She was dressed that way because the trash bins weren't so far from their apartment and it was still morning.

When she locked the door and turned to go, she saw a car pull over and a woman elegantly dressed walked down from the car. Jenny had recognised the driver and the woman too. They were people she hadn't seen in a long time.

This woman who wore a purple blazer and a pair of white suit and pants was the mother of Kody. She was old but she still looked like she was in her early 40s.

Mrs. Gladia Gold stood at a distance and looked at Jenny who had her hands clenched tightly around the plastic bags. She looked at her from head to toe and shook her head.

''Don't you know how to greet your elders anymore?'' she asked Jenny.

Jenny walked closer and bowed before her saying, ''good morning, aunt''

''Who is your aunt? Do I look your family member?'' she asked Jenny who turned mum. ''I can't believe you are the one my son settled for. How did you seduce him? Well, you never had any shame when you flirted with him when he was just a teenager''

''I never seduced Kody'' Jenny said softly.

''What? You didn't seduce him? Then, how did he end up with you? I really underestimated you. You even made my son to remove his name from our family's register just because of a nobody like you'' she looked at Jenny full of disdained.

To her, Jenny was just a peasant. Someone who was after her family's money to make her life better. Someone who no education and business connections.

''Tell me, what kind of tricks did you use on my son that he has even left his family for you?''

''She didn't do anything. I was the one who returned and seduced her. Mrs. Gold, please mind the way you speak to my wife'' Kody said walking towards them. he had just left to get them breakfast from a joint across their building and was back.

''Kody, stop. She is your mother'' Jenny held Kody's hand.

''I won't allow her to talk to you that way. You don't deserve to hear such things from her'' Kody said to her.

Their public display of affection made her chuckled and she said to them, ''your affection for each other brings tears to my eyes, but Kody did you know that her friend had sent your cousin to court or not?''

''I know about that but that's not my business. Also, Brew deserves what he is getting. This morning, I heard from a friend that he went to Brenda's workplace to hurt her with a knife but her boyfriend was there and he got hurt in her place. What kind of man does what he did? I want him to pay for his crimes too. What he did to Brenda isn't right''

''How dare you talk about your cousin like that? no matter what he is your family. And this…'' she looked at Jenny, ''one day you will get tired of playing with her. You will get bored and when you do, you will realise that we are your family while she is nothing to you''

''Mind your words'' Kody screamed at his mother before taking Jenny's hand. ''She is my wife and you don't have the right to speak to her that way. Leave our apartment right now, Mrs. Gold''

''Have you gone crazy? Kody, I am your mother''

''I already removed my name from the family's register. I am now a member of my father's family. I am using grandpa's last name now''

''Your father's side of the family? They are trash. They are nothing''

''They are not trash and they are even more humane than you and everyone else from the Gold family. Stay away from my wife or I will get a lawyer to talk to you and place a restraining order on you''

''What? for this pathetic girl, you are talking down at me?''

''She is my wife, let's go Jenny'' Kody took Jenny's hand and turned, walking inside with her.

''Get back here, Kody'' Mrs. Gladia Gold shouted. She chuckled, finding the situation ridiculous. She turned and got into the car. the driver got in and drove her out of the place.

'Find out who is the owner of the building and get them to eject them out of that apartment.

''The apartment is owned by Kody's paternal grandfather. It was given to him by the old man as a marriage gift'' the driver replied. He knew he would be asked that question, so he had already done his investigations. Apart from being her driver, he was also her assistant, so he knew her quite well.

When Kody sent Jenny inside, he fetched her a glass of water and sat next to her, ''Jenny, drink this. I'm sorry about my mom''

''It's alright. I expected this from her but it still hurts when I heard it'' Jenny smiled bitterly as she sipped the water.

''I will make sure she never gets to come near you again''

''You can't stop her, she will always find other ways to see me, but Kody. You don't need to worry, since I decided to be with you, I can endure this''

''I don't want you to endure anything for me. if she tries this again, I will get a restraining order from the police for you. You are my wife and I have to protect you''

'Thanks Kody''

'This is my duty as your husband. Trust me, I can protect you'' he said and hugged her.

Chloe yawned and looked outside the library. She saw Collins waving at her and she stood up hurriedly and closed her books. She took her bag and hurried out of the place.

When she got to him, she hugged him tightly saying, ''I missed you so much''

''I missed you two'' he took the books from her, ''did you read all of this today?''

''En, I read all of that''

''That's my girl. I am proud of you''

''Then, give me a reward''

''Look into the car, your reward is inside'' he said and Chloe smiled. She opened the front door and saw a bundle of purple rose flowers and picked them.

''Whoa, these smell nice''

''I heard purple rose signifies the purity of first love, since you are my first love, I thought I should express my feelings by getting you those''

''You are so sweet''

''Let's go, I bought steak on the way. I will cook it for you''

''Steak with red wine'' Chloe said.

''Exactly'' Collins said and held the door opened for her to sit.

Chloe's phone rang and she looked at it as she sat down, ''it's Brenda calling'' she said to Collins before answering it.

''Hello, Brenda''

''Chloe, Jenny and Kris are on the line'' Brenda said.

''Brenda, how is Robyn? Kody told me about the accident'' Jenny said.

''He is doing well''

''When Kris told me this morning, I was so angry, I wanted to go to the police station and pluck his eyes out'' Chloe said.

''No need for that. tomorrow is the first hearing''

''Don't worry, we will be there to support you'' Kristine told her over the phone.

''Yes, we will be there to support you'' Jenny added.

''Jenny, your voice is down, what's wrong?'' Brenda asked.

''Kody's mom came to our apartment''

''What?'' the other three shouted at the same time.

Kristine who was eating stopped and picked the phone up, walking to the balcony.

Brenda had also just finished making the soup she promised Robyn but she was still in the kitchen.

Chloe turned to look at Collins apologetically and he smiled and nodded his head.

''Did she do something to you physical?'' Chloe asked.

''Why would she hurt her physically? Is she a member of the thug?'' Kristine asked.

''But, her mouth is her strongest weapon. That woman is like a viper, her tongue is so poisonous'' Chloe said and Collins chuckled.

'What did she tell you? I bet she mentioned my name, right?'' Brenda asked.

''She did. She was quite furious about Brew being in prison but Kody protected me. he wants to obtain a restraining order from her for me''

''That's good. Let Kody do whatever he wants. He is your husband and he cares about you. he wants to protect you so you just let him do it'' Kristine told Jenny.

''I will do that. Let's talk more tomorrow when we meet. I still have to make dinner for Kody. He went out for a shoot''

''Oh, bye''

''Bye''

''Bye''

Chloe hung up and turned to Collins, ''my call took a little longer, right?''

''Not at all. They are your friends. You don't have to worry about me, I like your relationship with them. It's open and worthwhile''

''Yes, we've come a long way together. I'm hungry''

''Let's hurry then'' Collins stepped on the gas.
