Loved By The Villain And The Male Lead

Allen was dressed especially well on that day. He wore navy blue shorts, an oversized button down shirt and grey slip ons. Knowing that he would be meeting his idol, the one who created Star's World as well as Su Ning's best friend, Allen took great care of his appearance. His blond hair was brushed up and he wore contacts instead of his usual wire rimmed spectacles. In fact, so different was his appearance from his daily look that even Soyeon commented on the Irish man.

"Allen-shi, you are looking handsome today," Soyeon noted in approval 

"Yeah! Are you going on a date or a food trip?" Justin quipped.

"Shut it," Allen elbowed his friend. To be honest, Allen had another reason, he wanted to make a good impression on his crush, Su Ning. Now that they've grown a bit closer, he was hoping to confess to her soon. 

The group had been joking around by the east entrance when Allen heard the melodious voice he'd grown familiar with this past week.

"You guys are all here! Let me introduce you guys to my best friend from Cambridge, Christopher Callaghan Gu."

"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you," said Gu YuChen in a suave and sexy British English accent.

Allen swallowed audibly. This exceptionally handsome young man was the genius behind Star's World. The elusive programmer, Fox. The man looked calm and composed as he greeted the group while Su Ning led the introductions. It was evident that the members of the food tasting club were in awe of the newcomer's height and appearance. 

Su Ning merely introduced Gu YuChen as a law student from Cambridge University and that was already enough to elicit oohs and aahs of amazement. Imagine if she had told them that this 21 year old was responsible for creating 3 of the most popular mobile games in the past 3 years, what would their reactions be?

Eventually, the introductions made their way to Allen and the man was stiff and on attention. He looked like a military cadet meeting his superior.

"Uhm, hello. I'm Allen O' Sullivan. Nice to meet you," Allen spoke in a haltingly awkward manner.

"Yes. It's good to meet you. I heard you've been taking care of Karina," Gu YuChen responded courteously. 

"Oh! It's the opposite!" Allen immediately blurted out before realizing the implication of his words. It wasn't as if Su Ning specifically took care of him so he didn't know why he just suddenly uttered that. 

"No! I mean… I don't really do much," he embarrassedly corrected while Gu YuChen simply nodded in understanding.

"Dude, Chris is a law student from Cambridge not the president of a Fortune 500 company," Justin commented with a snicker earning himself a smack on the head from his friend. 

The group seemed to be used to this sort of dynamic that they mostly ignored the two young men. Soyeon and Althea proceeded to take several selfies while Raj went to the convenience store to grab some drinks for the train ride.

"Did you guys get our tickets since we are all here?" Su Ning asked, she was excited for their first stop. She specifically skipped breakfast today to make space for a full day of eating all to Gu YuChen's dismay.

"We're still missing another person!" Cody interjected loudly causing several members to look at each other confusedly. Their club obviously only had 7 members plus Gu YuChen whom Su Ning had informed the team she would be bringing to the trip. 

"Huh? Which other person?" Justin asked his friend and Allen cocked his head at the question. 

"It's…" Cody began. But as if on cue, a loud familiar voice shouted from behind.

"Guys!! Sorry I'm late!" Minshi ran up to them. The girl seemed to have a different image today. She wore a puff sleeve floral dress that ended above her knees and her hair was curled. She also had on pink eyeshadow, blush and lipstick. The overall look appears to be innocent and girly. 

At the sight of his goddess, Cody's heart was once again hammering in his chest.

"He- hey Minshi. You're not late at all. We're still waiting on Raj," Cody stammered.

"Dude, you sent Raj to go buy drinks," Justin noted with a disgusted look on his face. He didn't particularly like Minshi whom he deemed to be too aggressive and antagonistic. 

Meanwhile, Su Ning who had been chatting with Gu YuChen was startled to find her friend standing in front of her. 'Huh? What is Minshi doing here? Didn't she dislike the food tasting club?' She knew her friend was very picky about food. In fact, Su Ning and Minshi never shared meals and usually had to spend a lot of time picking out restaurants whenever they decided to eat together. 

"Minshi? How come you're here?" Su Ning asked with a perplexed look on her face.

Minshi took a quick glance at Gu YuChen who looked strikingly attractive in his casual outfit before bringing her attention back to Su Ning. "Oh you know. I thought I'd widen my food palate a bit. Cody mentioned your group had an outing today and I just happened to be free so," Minshi explained, trying to sound nonchalant. 

"I see," Su Ning replied. However deep inside, she felt that Minshi's sudden appearance is related to Gu YuChen.

"Oh hi, YuChen-ge," Minshi smiled abashedly, greeting the young man standing beside Su Ning. On the other hand, Gu YuChen simply tilted his head in acknowledgement.

In actuality, Minshi practically begged Cody to let her join today's excursion. Apparently, some of the members were resistant to her presence though she didn't know why. But there was no way she was going to miss this chance to hangout with Gu YuChen. Ever since the man had rejected her earlier in the week, Minshi had asked him out several times for coffee or a meal; however, all her invites were summarily rejected. And whenever she asked Gu YuChen for a reason the answer was always the same. "I have plans with NingNing," Gu YuChen would respond via text. 

It was oh so frustrating for Minshi that Gu YuChen also wouldn't pick up her voice and video calls. 'Exactly just how am I supposed to get close to him if he rejects everything!?' Minshi growled. So when she heard from Su Ning that they were going on an excursion this weekend, she got the idea to tag along. The only annoying thing was that she had to get permission from the club president, Cody. After promising to be 'well-behaved' for the entire trip and to watch a movie with him separately, Minshi finally got the okay.

This morning, Minshi woke up 2 hours earlier than usual to decide on her outfit and to do her make-up. She called Su Ning for advice but since Su Ning didn't know what type of girl Gu YuChen liked, she wasn't really able to give Minshi much advice regarding the style the latter would emulate. 

"Uhm.. why do you need to change your style again?" Su Ning asked confusedly.

"Duh! It's to catch YuChen-ge's attention," Minshi answered with an exasperated fling of her wrist.

"But… Minshi.. You are already pretty the way you are," Su Ning insisted. 'Minshi is already confident and attractive. Why would she want to change her style?'

"I know ! But this is obviously not Gu YuChen's style!" Minshi explained before asking.

"Are you sure you don't know what his crush looks like?"

"He's never shown me a photo. I told you." (Su Ning)

"Then what type of girls usually catch his attention?" (Minshi)

"Uhm.. I don't see him look at other girls to be honest," Su Ning said after a short pause. 'Now that I think about it. Gu YuChen is almost asexual. If I had not known about his unrequited love I wouldn't even think he was interested in women. Or maybe he's just the type to give his all to one person.'

"... Kari. You are no help at all you know," Minshi commented.

"Aiyah! I told you from the beginning I don't know!" Su Ning reasoned.

And so, Minshi agonized for a while before coming up with a brilliant idea. Wasn't Gu YuChen best friends with Su Ning? It was obvious that the young man treated Su Ning especially well. And the girl also had a nice feminine style that a lot of men seemed to find attractive. It was the best bet! 'I could just use Su Ning as reference!' Minshi decided.
