Loved By The Villain And The Male Lead

If only the door hadn't been left slightly ajar, then Lin Miao wouldn't have had to overhear such a sinister conversation.

"Is it done? Good. Her hand? Feed it to the pigs," Gu YuChen said with a cruel glint in his eyes. A few seconds later, the young man continued, "Make sure she cannot leave that place. Cut off both her feet if you have to." 

Lin Miao's eyes widened as she heard these ominous words. 'Feed her hand to the pigs? Cut off her feet? What in the world?! Who is this person he's referring to?' she wondered. 

Gu YuChen moved about in the room as he spoke. "Send her to the worst of the lot. Since she's well versed in using her body to get benefits, she can use her knowledge of these unspoken rules to survive there," he coldy said.

Lin Miao gasped quietly.. Never in her life had she thought that this level of cruelty was possible for someone so young. 'Who could have wronged him to such an extent that he would inflict such punishment?' she wondered.

From the small gap of the open door, Lin Miao Gu YuChen standing with his back towards her. She quickly realized her precarious situation. Should Gu YuChen notice her presence, Lin Miao didn't know what would become of her. So in a split second, she made the decision to hide in the restroom across from where Gu YuChen was having his phone call. Lin Miao moved as noiselessly as possible and she prayed that Gu YuChen would end up buying her act.

After staying in the restroom for several minutes, she washed her hands with the water pressure turned on high. Then, Lin Miao turned to flush the toilet before calming her thumping heart. She schooled her expression to her usual calm demeanor. Lin Miao didn't know who incurred Gu YuChen's wrath but she instinctively knew that she had become privy to something that she shouldn't have been. As she expected, Lin Miao opened the lavatory door to come face to face with Gu YuChen. The young man was dressed casually in dark denim jeans and a black button down shirt. Gu YuChen leaned against the wall with his arms crossed; his gaze calmly fell on Su Ning's friend.

"Gu YuChen," Lin Miao greeted the man as usual. On the surface, nothing appeared out of the ordinary but inside, her heart beat a mile a minute.

"Lin Miao came to visit NingNing?" he asked casually. Gu YuChen's voice was quiet and deep; it was unbearably frightening.

"En. I couldn't greet you first. I've been having stomach pains all day," Lin Miao lied with a straight face. 

Gu YuChen gave Lin Miao a deep look before he spoke, "Hmm… I'll have Dr Yang take a look."

"Oh! No, no need. It's just the usual period cramps," Lin Miao said hastily with reddened cheeks.

"Ah, I see. Well, I'll leave you to spend time with NingNing," he responded after a short pause.

"Alright. Thank you," Lin Miao bade him goodbye without changing the infection in her voice. She went straight to Su Ning's room and she hoped in her heart that Gu YuChen didn't find something amiss. Fortunately, the man didn't mention anything and simply left the room. The subordinate named Xiao Yi stayed behind to guard the outside of the VIP suite.

It was not until a few days later when Lin Miao had seen the news on Qing Mei that she put two and two together. Gu YuChen had enacted a vicious revenge on Qing Mei, the perpetrator in Su Ning's attack. Gu YuChen didn't bother to rely on law enforcement and instead took justice in his own hands. Though Lin Miao had wanted Qing Mei to get just punishment for her actions, she knew how slowly the law worked and how lenient it was towards minors. Yet at the same time, she felt that Gu YuChen's action was too extreme. In a way, what befell Qing Mei was a fate worse than death. Of course, Lin Miao never confronted Gu YuChen about the matter, she had a strong sense of self preservation after all. Lin Miao felt relieved when Su Ning awoke from her coma, maybe now Gu YuChen would show Qing Mei some mercy. But that was something she will never know the conclusion of. It wasn't as if she could ask Gu YuChen what became of Qing Mei. To the public, Qing Mei had already passed away. Moreover, Gu YuChen's real face is not something Lin Miao wanted to witness another time.

Author's Note: Lin Miao didn't see Gu YuChen's actual face/expression since he had his back to the door. 

Back to the present, Lin Miao looked at her friend who had a clueless expression on her face. Su Ning wasn't aware that she had 2 extremely rich and powerful young men who were willing to do anything for her. They were both unnaturally fixated on Su Ning. But if she were to tell Su Ning her worries about the two, she would certainly be met with disbelief. Su Ning seems to think that those two boys were 'little angels' and are unlikely to believe that they would be capable of any evil doing. Su Ning has to see these things for herself in order to open her eyes to the truth. Fortunately, Lin Miao doesn't foresee either of the two harming Su Ning. So, Lin Miao felt comfortable leaving her good friend in their hands. Well, to be quite honest, even if she tried to hinder the trio's relationship, nothing would come of it. Their bond was simply too strong. All she could really do is to observe how things play out.

"NingNing, remember to let Gu YuChen and Lin JinYan know your decision alright?" Lin Miao finally said.

"Hmm? Well I will, later on," Su Ning responded easily. 'I want to speak with Allen first.'

"Mm.. don't wait too long alright?" Lin Miao quipped back immediately.

"Pfft. Why are you so nervous? It's not like this is some big news to JinYan-ge and YuChen-ge. As long as I tell them personally it should be fine," Su Ning replied rather dismissively. She instead focused all her attention on the slice of cake in front of her. 'I'll just make sure to go out and walk tomorrow to burn these calories,' Su Ning thought as she smiled to herself. She was completely unaware of Lin Miao's worries.

Lin Miao let out a sigh. She knew her words fell on deaf ears. If a person didn't want to listen there was nothing she could do. 'If you only knew how big a deal this is for Lin JinYan and Gu YuChen. I sure hope Allen is a strong person who would fight for your relationship.'

"If you say so," Lin Miao conceded.

"Mhmm. I know so. It will be fine. They're my best friends. They'll always support my decisions," Su Ning proclaimed confidently whilst Lin Miao looked on still unconvinced. 

Lin Miao no longer questioned her friend further. "Okay. Let me and QingQing know how it goes," she said instead.

The pair continued chatting til sunset before Su Ning bade goodbye to Lin Miao and took a DeeDee home.

It was close to dinner time by the time Su Ning got back to her place. She wasn't surprised to see that her parents and Minshi had not yet returned from their day trip. Reveling in the feeling of having the house to herself, Su Ning immediately headed towards the couch to laze around and play her phone. Her day out with RuRu and Lin Miao was more exhausting than she had anticipated so she wanted to pass the time in indolence. In actuality, Su Ning was the type of person who needed a vacation from her vacation. After playing Star's World for nearly an hour, Su Ning took a nap in the living room only to be woken up by the sound of the keycode being entered onto the electronic keypad lock. Looks like her parents and Minshi finally made it back from their day trip. 

"NingNing! Guess who we met outside?!" Minshi shouted from the doorway.

Su Ning lazily got up from the sofa at the sound of her friend's voice. She could hear her mother and father chatting with the guest outside. They both sounded quite respectful as they invited the guest into the apartment. 

'Ah? Who could it be?' wondered Su Ning. 

A pair of long legs stepped into the doorway and Su Ning's eyes widened at the sight of the unexpected visitor.
