Loving The Dragon Lord CEO

Chapter 200 - Anticipation

CHAPTER 200

"The problem now is not that you cannot protect yourself, my friend, you do not want to. You want her to kill you and neither of us can have that. Please do not be selfish for once and do the right thing," Jay stated as a matter of fact.

"I am not trying to be selfish. It is because I do not want to be selfish that is why I am not hiding from her. I caused the death of her family, a generation that had reigned for years to come. Asking for my life is a small price to pay," Xander stated sadly.

"No it is not and Jade knows that," Jay cut in sharply. "If only she would look past her rage just for a minute she would see it too. The weight of your race lies on your shoulders just like it has always been. You cannot die without an heir to take over the reign of power. It is not done, we cannot allow a non-royal, take the throne."

"I have relatives, net in line to the throne."

"Who, your old uncle?" Sky intervened. "Heck no is that happening. Your parents entrusted the fate of our race to you and you need to uphold it and not throw your life away. Now a lot is at stake. Zale knows about us, you still want to leave your people without a leader?"

'What kind of leader would I be after murdering others and not doing anything about it?"

"I am sorry but sometimes, your life can still not repay what you have done. So please, think twice and think again if you must, thrice, four times even, your people need you, Xander. I need you, we need you and Jade needs you now more than ever. Not dead but alive."

He understood his friends and he did not want to die as well, but giving the choice between dying and her hate for life, he would pick dying.

"Living without Jade is meaningless."

"And so it would be with her. You two need each other, bro. You need her. You found your mate, yes not in the way you had expected but still, she is here and…"

"She wants to kill me."

"The bond would not allow it, that is the chance you have in talking to her. You said so yourself, that bullet was meant for you, but what happened that she didn't kill you instead of sending that bullet into the wall?"

"I…"

"You do not have to answer it, Xan. She was at war with her inner self. It would refuse her from doing so. She is in conflict and while at that, we can dig deeper into the case of her parents' death. I do not just think that this was a ploy from Zale, I know so."

Sky who had been quiet finally spoke, taking a step forward to meet them. "It all makes sense now. He wanted to use you to clear off his enemy while blaming you but unfortunately, no one anticipated that you two would fall in love with each other, so right now it is a win-win for him and even better than anything because, his two enemies, who are lovers, are going to kill themselves."

"Never, not on my watch."

"Good, then let us find the evidence and if she still doesn't believe me, then allow Jade to kill me."

"Xan…."

"This is my life and I alone have the right to make decisions that would befit it. It is my deal to allow you to protect me till then."

"Fine," Sky agreed, nudging Jay to agree as well. Jay ignored his friend's attempt and just nodded his head then stepped aside.

"Right after you then."

Xander looked back through the window and silently made a wish before leaving the room with them trailing behind him.

The moment he got downstairs, the party kicked started but his mind wasn't there.

Meanwhile Jade had indeed come to the party but not as they were expecting like last time.

This time she came wearing her assassin's outfit, her all-black leathered outfit with a black cloth tied on her face covering her nose downwards.

Her guns and daggers and all she needed were in place and all she waited for was the right time.

It wasn't that she couldn't take them all, that is the guards guarding him, she could but she needed or her body just wanted to see him.

With the longing from her mate bond, it was almost becoming impossible for her to breathe well without seeing him. And once the mate bond activates, it is always nice to consummate it or both parties would be suffering from the sexual deprivation and would always be restless like how Jade was.

For Xander, he had been used to some of these things since and what made him a bit stable was the fact that the one he loved refused to be around him and he knew another guy wouldn't as well.

Normally after the mate bond sets in, the jealousy of both parties, especially the male would skyrocket but things weren't pleasant enough for them to do such.

Jade of course did not know this and with her ever-increasing need to kill him, that was how torturous it was for her in her heart and body.

Her body craved him, craved his touch, his kisses and the likes. That was why even the few opportunities she had to shoot him. She did not do it. Instead, she gave herself the excuse that's he needed to look into his eyes as she shot him dead.

<Author! What a girl…*face-palm*>

She packed her things and got ready to undertake her journey to his main mansion.

She had been viewing the house from an angle at a distance and watching the activities ongoing.

A while later, some of the guests had begun to take their leave from the party as it had come to an end.

She did a great job disappointing them that most actually thought she refused to show up due to the heightened level of security present.

Unknown to them that she had a different idea altogether.

Not long after, most of the guests had still taken their leave. After Xander was done greeting them respectively and thanking them for coming, he retired to his chambers.

He too had waited long, his eyes always darting from north to south, east to west in search of her, still, he got nothing but he never lost hope and believed in seeing her.

"Xander, I guess you were wrong and you threw this dinner party or nothing," Jay announced.

"Well, it was worth the try. You tell me when you found out that Macy was your mate and you two Sky when you found out that Jenny was your mate, just how did you feel?"

"We understand where you are coming from. Xander. I know you love her so much."

"Yes," Sky concurred. "But yours pose a great threat."

'You know just how hard it is to be with your mate so please do not tell me not to anymore. Anything I do, even if she chose to come or not, she is still mine and the one I would forever love. If it involves me throwing a party daily till she shows herself to me, then I would."

Both of them sighed at the same time. He was having a tough love now and none of them could help him out whereas he had helped them in their own times of need.

We support you and are with you anytime but not on the part where you wish to throw your life away. That I cannot support. My first duty, be it friend or foe is to the throne. And as council members, we would give our life anytime and day to ensure your safety. Just relax. Tomorrow is a new day."

"Jade would not come."

They said goodbye and left him in the room to have a nice rest.

By the time all was set, she saw Xander in his bedroom as he paced up and down in search of God knows what. That was when she made her move and went straight for his window.

Xander who had become restless in anticipation of seeing his beloved, had his dragon become irritated with the wait. Both of them could barely contain themselves but what had they to do?

This had happened now on five occasions. The need to see her would overwhelm him and his dragon would be irritated, giving him so much headache and frustration.

Today's situation was worse because he so much anticipated her coming but she didn't. While he was busy, he stopped and faced his walk-in closet door, his mind becoming bleak from all of his thoughts and wish.

At that moment a shadow appeared by his window but he did not shake, instead, his lips curved upwards into a smile.
