Chapter 36: We Meet Again

Jonathan’s pupils constricted, and he stared at Nina in disbelief.

A distinguished guest of the Drummonds? Was Klein telling him that Nina was backed by someone who could represent the Drummonds?

Nina was an important guest?

Jonathan felt his surroundings spun. The only reason he had dealt with this group of youngsters was to give Hiram an outlet to vent.

And that was precisely because… Hiram was from the Drummonds!

He had to satisfy that perverted fatty.

However, he seemed to have offended someone with an even higher status in the Drummond family because of that lecherous fatty.

He recalled Nina’s clean attack earlier. He should have realized earlier that she was not an ordinary person, but Jonathan never expected that she would be related to his backer!

“Mr. Meredith, this is a misunderstanding. This is definitely a misunderstanding!” Jonathan tried to explain.

Klein stopped looking at him and studied Nina. “Thankfully, nothing happened to Miss Jowett. I’m in a hurry to bring her to meet a friend. We’ll talk about your matter later.”

After that, he even gestured gentlemanly for Nina to come this way with him.

Nina thought for a while and followed Klein. When they passed by the stairs, Klein didn’t go downstairs but walked deeper into the corridor.

It seemed like that person was on the third floor of this bar.

Jonathan slapped his forehead harshly. “Find out who is in the private booths on the third floor today!”

“He came with you?” Nina asked calmly as she walked beside Klein.

Klein could not help but turn his head to scrutinize her.

This girl is indeed interesting. She is still so calm after seeing Jonathan’s attitude toward me.

Is she not afraid of me? Or is she not curious about who I am?

Klein could not sense from Nina the kind of attitude girls her age should have. If it were any other girl, they would at least be acting more respectfully and carefully toward him.

“Yes, he’s waiting for you in the room,” Klein replied with a smile.

Nina was puzzled. “How did you know I was here? And you even knew that I got into trouble?”

Klein smiled. “I’ll answer your first question first. Hmm… It’s fate. And good eyesight.”

Only God knew how Hugh had such good eyesight. He had actually spotted Nina Jowett in the middle of the chaotic crowd and flashy lights on the first floor through the glass window on the third floor.

At that time, Hugh had said it was fate.

Therefore, Klein replied in the same manner.

This answer baffled Nina.

“As for your second question, I think you can ask him yourself.” Klein, along with Nina, stopped in front of a door to a booth.

He pushed open the door.

In the bright and spacious luxurious booth, the curved wall across them was covered with large floor-to-ceiling windows, which allowed one to see the lively atmosphere downstairs.

The room was well soundproofed. The noisy music outside did not permeate the room at all.

Klein brought Nina in and sat on the sofa in the corner to play with his phone.

Hugh was sitting on a chair in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the noisy dance floor downstairs.

He held a goblet, which had a straw in it, with his clean and slender hand.

He turned to see Nina entering the room, spat out the straw, and raised his eyebrows. “Is it settled?”

Klein waved his hand, his eyes glued to his phone. “This amazing lady settled her problems. When I found her, she was pointing a gun at Jonathan.”

Huston raised his eyebrows in surprise.

“You even know how to use guns?” he asked Nina.

“I don’t,” replied Nina. “It was just to scare them.”

“Are you from the Drummond family?” asked Nina.

Huston glanced at Klein, wondering how Nina knew about the Drummonds.

Klein shrugged and shook his head, expressing that he didn’t know either.

Huston flashed a charming smile. “How is that possible? I’m just an honest businessman who runs a small business. However, Klein is indeed the deputy of a manager in the Drummonds.”

Nina frowned. “But he said I was a distinguished guest of the Drummonds.”

Huston said casually, “That was to scare them, of course. Otherwise, how would they let you go so easily?”

Nina stared at Huston for a moment, then nodded. “Thank you.”

Huston grinned, his beautiful eyes curving into crescents. “How would you like to thank me? Why don’t you tell me which university you’re from?”

Nina remained standing. “LG University.”

Huston raised an eyebrow, and there was a hint of surprise in his eyes. “I guess we are really fated. Would you like some red wine?” He swirled the glass in his hand. “To celebrate our affinity.”

Nina found this man interesting. She also sensed from his restraint during what happened the last time they met that he had good character.

Nina thought for a little and walked over to sit down across from the man.

“Tell me, how did you realize I was in trouble?”
