Magicraft Meister Part 1
665 - - 20-15 Westward
Meanwhile, in the town of Ismar, southwest of Shawlo.
The date is November 24. It is the morning of the day Jin develops the jet thruster.
"Oh, that's Mr. John's horse!
Oliver, a merchant, and John Dinney, a magi engineer for hire, were about to leave.
For the past ten days since they had signed the contract, John had been building this golem horse.
Of course, it was Jin who built it, and the old man wrote a program to degrade its performance. If only it had been necessary, it could have performed as well as it did right away.
"You can put your luggage in here, it's very convenient."
John opens the storage compartment in the fuselage. Oliver is impressed.
"Well, John, you are an excellent magi engineer! It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
"No, no, I'm still in my infancy.
With this conversation, Oliver loaded his luggage onto his horse.
It seems that Oliver and John are the only two people on this trip. They did not want to take too many strangers with them.
Instead, Oliver has two horses, one for him to ride and one for his luggage.
Most of the luggage is for business. John guessed that they were bartering. If they were from a different tribe, it was only natural that they would not be able to trade with each other using the common currency of the Lesser Group.
The rest of the supplies were four days' worth of food and water. However, the water seemed to be replenishable on the way, and they had only one day's worth. However, being an automata, John does not need food or water.
The goods were salt and a few magi crystals. Some small magic lamps. And about 50 kilograms of wheat. That's about the size of a private transaction, I suppose.
"Come on, let's go."
They put on deep hats to protect themselves from the sun and set out. The time was 8:00 a.m. They walk around the southern edge of the Hariri Desert.
No one pays any attention, which is not unusual. John wondered if such a sightseeing trip was not unusual in this town.
(But it doesn't sound like they are turning a blind eye to trade with different peoples. ......)
John decided not to speculate with insufficient information.
The southern end of the Hariri Desert is near Ismar. Further south is a slightly higher mountainous area. The area between the desert and the mountains is a plain. Two horses and a golem horse were traveling on the flat area.
"It's so rocky around here, isn't it?"
John muttered as he looked at the desolate land on our right.
When we hear the word "desert," we tend to imagine a wilderness of sand, but in fact there are many rocky deserts. A sandy desert is one where the entire surface is covered with sand, and the central part of the Harihari Desert is a sandy desert.
Here at the southern end, rocks and gravels are conspicuous instead of sand.
This area near the Tropic of Cancer is closer to the sea than the central part of the desert, and therefore receives more precipitation.
However, there was not enough vegetation, and the only plants visible in the area were cactus-like plants and succulents.
"This area has already crossed the border," Oliver said.
Oliver said.
John decided that the border was probably defined by the mountain ridge to the south, since there was nothing to indicate a specific border.
Just before 4:00 p.m., what looked like a rest house made of piled up rocks came into view.
"That's where we'll be staying tonight.
Oliver, who was leading the group, turned around and said, "That's where we'll be staying tonight.
When we got closer to it, we found that it was more solidly built than we had expected. It was not simply piled up with rocks, but it showed the skill of a skilled craftsman who had made sure the rocks were of the same size and took gravity into consideration.
"Pretty good, isn't it?"
Oliver said as he hitched up his horse. Then he said something that surprised me even more.
"I've heard that this has been here for a long time."
John checks the masonry. Certainly, the weathered surface of the masonry makes it look more than 500 years old, maybe close to 1000 years old. It could be close to 1,000 years old.
The structure is large enough to fit a horse inside.
There is a spring of water in the back here. Just a little bit.
John was surprised by this statement as well. Looking at the surrounding topography, it was not a place where water could spring. John approached the water spot, wondering if it was an artificially dug well.
"This is ......."
He secretly checks the watering hole where Oliver is giving water to the horses by <> and finds that it is definitely a <>.
Of course, moss and debris clogged the water flow, but it was unmistakably a man-made water supply.
(A 1000 year old water system? ......)
John Dinney, or the old man, hypothesized that it might have been built in the past by a foreign tribe to invade the east.
The route that John and the others have just taken would be relatively easier to pass through than cutting through the desert. And if the water supply was running through it, it would be .......
"Come on, Mr. John, let's eat.
Oliver called out to him. John stopped thinking and decided to play the part. In other words, he decided to eat and pretend to be a human being.
The next day, they left early in the morning.
We will arrive at our destination in the evening," Oliver said.
John was excited to hear Oliver say, "We will be at our destination in the evening. Of course, he was excited because he would be able to give a fruitful report to his master, Jin.
The scenery around him has changed a little. The Harihari Desert has moved away and there is a little more greenery.
However, as a whole, there is still a lot of wasteland. In other words, the climate has changed from a desert climate to a steppe climate.
"In the spring and summer, though, it's green grasslands.
Oliver's description of the area's climate makes it clear that it is close to a steppe climate.
The horses literally grazed on the road when they took a break, and John and Oliver drank the water they had brought with them.
And then, as Oliver said, as the short late-autumn sun began to set, a small settlement came into view.
"That's where we're going."
There were several houses made of stone and clay, and some of them waved their hands when they saw Oliver.
However, they seemed to be of the same race as Oliver, and did not seem to be of a different ethnic group.
Perhaps they sensed his gaze,
"This is called the settlement, and it is not inhabited by a different race," Oliver explains.
Oliver explains.
"It is a settlement created by the descendants of those who were ostracized by the Lesser Kohun nations and fugitives."
Since they are not an alien race, he says, they are not guilty of trading. I guess it's a way out.
"Oliver!"
I look toward the voice calling me and see a young woman. Dark in appearance, the old man piloting John could tell that the color of her skin was not tanned and black, but the same as that of a follower race in the alien ...... demon tribe's territory.
Perhaps her grandparents were of a different race.
"Hey, Maya."
The woman Oliver called Maya was in her early twenties, with dark skin, dark brown hair, and light brown eyes. She is of medium height and good style.
"I brought a Magi Engineer with me," she said.
"As promised. Thank you.
The accent is slightly accented. The old man listens to John's voice and gathers information.
"Nice to meet you, my name is John Dinny.
I'm Maya. Nice to meet you.
"Yes, nice to meet you."
After greeting her, Oliver asks Maya a question.
"Maya, do you have a favor to ask him?"
"Yes, I do. In addition to the usual, there are a few things that he couldn't handle a long time ago ...... tenkunhan.
The name Tenkun-han sounded familiar to John.
(As I recall, the master (Mylord) was on his way to the Shoro Kingdom (......)
He had seen a magi engineer in the town of Hatata, who had created an avant-garde figurine that he did not understand.
"Well, do you have something to fix?"
John asked Maya amiably.
"I've got a whole list of things I need fixed, so just fix what you can.
Maya led John to one of the huts.
"In there are all the tools that are broken or malfunctioning. Can you fix what you can and put them here?
"Okay."
"Oh, and of course, you have until the end of the day tomorrow."
Yes, sir.
Even though the work will start tomorrow, I am curious to see what kind of things they have. These tools are a barometer of culture.
(A pot with the bottom missing, a frying pan with the handle missing, and a kettle with a hole in it.)
I guess this is the . I wondered if there was a tinker, but the hole was too big to be fixed by a normal person.
There were also some other small daily necessities.
(The rest is in the back...). (......What is that?)
There were two bicycles, which looked like bicycles, placed at the back of the hut.
The date is November 24. It is the morning of the day Jin develops the jet thruster.
