Magicraft Meister Part 3

2158 - - 58-06 Old Story

Jin and his friends are being told stories about the past by the owner of the long-established inn, Chidori-tei.

"When the first owner built this inn, I believe it was during the Berkley dynasty," he says.

Jin knows a little about it. He was present at the time of the change of power from the Rijohn de Barkly to Lothar de Lafayette.

"At that time, this region was the domain of the Duke of Lattero de Lafayette, known as the Duke of the North, and was relatively well governed."

"I see."

Jin chimed in.

"Please come in."

Then the hostess served us tea. The same tea was placed in front of Gregoras in Alexandria.

After taking a sip of the tea, Gregorus Pecker continued his story.

"It was around that time that this inn was built. The location of the inn was not so bad, as it was close to the border with the Kingdom of Klein, and there was a good flow of people through the city.

"I see."

It was a fairly modern structure at the time.

That's interesting.

If the layout and interior design have not changed since then, Jin said, it is a historical building and has great value as a cultural heritage.

"I'm sure the original owner would be proud to hear you say that."

Gregoras Pecker's story continued.

Jin listens to it with great interest.

After listening to the old story, Jin and the others were relaxing in their rooms after having lunch.

"You got more than you expected, didn't you?

"Hmm..."

In fact, this building is still in the same style as it was 400 years ago.

"Maybe we can sneak ...... in later, or maybe we can make an open offer and re-enforce it."

"I think that's a good idea."

"...... And, hey, the owner here, Gregoras, did you say. He's got a limp, doesn't he?"

Jin had only a vague feeling that this was the case, but he asked Erza, who is a top-notch healer, if she knew what he was talking about,

"Well, I can't be sure of the details until I examine you properly, but maybe your knee."

"I see."

If it is a surgical disease, Elsa can probably fix it.

"......What about compensation? I'm going to give you a reason to thank me for sharing my valuable story and to protect this precious building."

Still, that's probably going to be excessive,...... says Elsa.

"Yes,...... and add healing to that,...... I don't know."

"Father, Elsa, how about paying for the accommodation?"

Reiko advised.

"Well, I guess that's a good idea."

Both Jin and Erza nodded their heads in agreement.

However, they agreed that it would be better to make it look like <>, both in terms of reinforcement and treatment.

That way, they would not be too embarrassed.

As a side note, both healing <> and healing <> are national qualifications, but to call oneself a <>, one needs to have a deep scientific knowledge.

Jin and Elsa went out to see the town in the afternoon. Reiko and Hope are accompanying them.

"Hmmm, a mixture of old and relatively new buildings.

"Father, the newer ones are still about 150 years old."

"Yes, that's right. <

Jin analyzes the town while observing the streets.

"......1, I'm curious about something..."

Then Erza mutters to herself.

"I've been looking for a healer, but I can't find any indication of a healer or a healing center.

"Oh, by the way," she says, "I was at ......."

"Maybe it has something to do with the innkeeper's leg not being healed.

I'll ask him when I get back.

Hmm.

Jin and the others walked around the town some more.

"The town is ...... lively. It's very lively for such a remote town.

There are a few tourists here and there, not including Jin and the others.

"I wonder what the other tourists are doing here, if they are tourists..."

"Father, I heard that there is a specialty that appears in this region during this season.

Reiko, who had been listening to the conversation of the tourists, quietly told me.

"What are the specialties ......? Aurora Borealis or shooting stars?

"I don't think it's limited to this town, Jin-bro. And I've never heard of the Northern Lights being seen in Ars.

"I see.

Erza knew about the Northern Lights because Jin had taught her a lot of earthly knowledge.

But for whatever reason, there seemed to be no record of auroras appearing in Ars or Hale.

Besides, meteor showers are not so unique to this region. Jin thought that eclipses of the sun and moon did not seem to occur due to the position of Ars and the moon (Uni).

"...... father, it seems to be fireworks."

"Fireworks?"

Where do they set off such things? Jin thought,

"Apparently, it seems to be in the direction of the barrier station of the Klein Kingdom.

Reiko answered with more information.

"You mean on the side of the Klein Kingdom?"

Of course, we can see it on our side.

"I think there are probably tourists coming to the town of Nyse on the Klein Kingdom side.

That's right.

Jin thought, "I don't think there would be any crazy tourists who would go all the way across the border to stay in a town in another country.

"But maybe that's why. The rooms at the inn were also quite full.

All the rooms on the second floor were occupied, so Jin and the others had rooms on the third floor.

That was fine with us, since it was quiet and we had a nice view from the window.

"Maybe we can see it from the window of our room?

Jin said,

"Yes, father. If there will be fireworks, they will be on the east side. Our room is a corner room facing east and south, so you can see them if you open the window. It will be cold, though."

Reiko told me.

"I see. If we set up a wind ward against the cold, the warm air in the room will not escape, so it should be fine.

"I think so."

"...... And when are the fireworks? Tonight?

"No, tomorrow night, I heard... they're going to have fireworks over the next two days."

"I see. I see. ...... So I guess I'll have to stay one more night.

Somewhat curious, Jin decides to leave town after watching the fireworks.

"Well, it's not like we have a goal or a deadline."

Erza agrees.

"Then, what I'm interested in is the fireworks.

Jin felt a little disappointed that he would have stayed in the town on the Klein Kingdom side if he had known in advance, but he reminded himself that he could have seen the 450-year-old architecture if he had stayed here.

"I'll ask the old man to check ......."

Through Reiko, Jin instructed Lao-kun to look into it.

He received an immediate reply,

"Father, it seems that Lao-kun already had the information about the fireworks," Reiko said.

Reiko said.

"I will tell you the details in your room at the inn.

"Yes, please do."

Although the fireworks were on their mind, Jin and the others decided to walk around the town a little more to see what was going on.
