Even if she was ready to go to dinner, she didn’t leave her room and flopped down on the bed, instead.

*SIGH*

She let out a long sigh without realizing it.

Lucy and Lily glanced at the future bride in surprise, wondering why she was sighing when she should have been ecstatic.

“What’s wrong, My Lady?”

“Are you worried about something?”

Cherryl shook her head and cast her eyes outside the window.

“I’m thinking a lot about the future wedding since it’s just around the corner. It’s nothing, so please don’t worry everyone.” Cherryl murmured in an effort to comfort herself but it still sounded strange to her ears.

Lilly tilted her chin in interest.

‘Marriage will only make the bond between the two of you stronger, so what are you worried about? Could it be the first night?’ Lily squinted at her while supporting her chin with her thumb and index finger.‘Is there anything different about the first night compared to the rest? Just do what you normally do, my Lady.’

However, the maid finally figured out why Lady Cherryl was acting like this in a snap of a finger.

‘Aha! You’re thinking about what to wear on the first night because it’s special.’ Lily put her fist in her palm, looking pleased.’Perhaps, you didn’t want to talk about it due to embarrassment.’

As for the lady’s first night, Lily was the only person who could take care of it more thoroughly and prudently than anyone else.

After all, she just had to be discreet about it.

The eager maid was confident in preparing the most unusual and eye-catching nightgowns and grooming supplies for Lady Cherryl.

Now, she had no idea if she was doing this for Cherryl’s or Cade’s satisfaction but… she heard a new lingerie and perfume boutique had opened in the City of Ilwood.

Lily clenched her fist with a grim look. ‘I have to go there right away after asking for permission.’

Once the lady saw the supplies she had prepared, she would be relieved from worrying about such useless things.

When she imagined Cherryl, entering the newlyweds’ bedroom and smiling at the wonderful things she had procured, Lily burned with ambition.

Was that all?

First, she would soak the lady’s body in a bathtub filled with rosewater for a long, long time.

Then, she would make her skin soft and supple using lemon scrub mixed with balm.

It would be hard for the Grand Duke to keep his hands off her.

Lucy settled down beside Cherryl as Lily’s eyes shone in excitement.

“You must be feeling restless at such a life-altering event drawing near. Please cheer up, My Lady. We’re supposed to go to the Winter Festival together before the wedding. You will have fun with the Grand Duke and get closer to him.”

With that said, even Lucy was shocked upon hearing that the Grand Duke was going with them to the Winter Festival.

Her surprise was comparable to hearing Axel dancing ballet as a hobby.

At Lucy’s pat, Cherryl replied with a small, reassuring smile.”You’re right. It’s foolish to sigh over something that hasn’t happened yet when fun things are coming first.”

She wasn’t really worried to the point that she needed cheering up and she didn’t get to feel any better from sitting like this, either.

Twas Lily stepped in. “Do you know the Grand Duke’s favorite color, My Lady?”

“I don’t know. Black?” Cherryl’s reply was hesitant. “I had no idea.”

Cade only wore black.

“Do you know what kind of scent he likes?”

“I’m not sure about that either.”

Cherryl was shocked to find herself unable to answer easily.

How could she not know anything about her future husband?

At that time, she was only certain about one thing.

This was also the night Lucy came to Carlsvik.

“Come to think of it. I applied rose oil when I visited the Grand Duke’s bedroom and he said it smelled good.” Cherryl blurted out before adopting a blank countenance. “I’m just saying so please, just forget about this.”

Even if she tried dismissing the useless confession, Lily seemed satisfied by the vague response.

“I’ll be going down to eat. The chef will be sad if the dish gets cold.”

Leaving the grinning maids behind, Cherryl got up from the bed.

***

As always, she had a wonderful dinner.

Delicious food up to her taste was laid out on the table and she became more satisfied with the rich flavor of cherry wine.

Cade would often come down to the ground floor and sit next to Cherryl without eating anything but today, he hadn’t shown up to watch over her.

Was he that busy?

By the time her meal was over, the dark clouds disappeared to reveal the sunset.

Night had fallen in Carlsvik.

The sunset projected from the glass window poured red shadows into the castle.

The day ended well and she wondered if it could get any more peaceful.

Cherryl, who came up to the bedroom on the third floor, sat in front of a round table and read a book presented by Albert.

While concentrating for a long time, she raised her head upon hearing a knock on the door.

Lucy, who was sewing something next to her, opened the door instead.

The man standing outside the door was none other than Axel.

“Do you have spare time?”

As he stood in the hallway, Axel peeked inside the room.

He must have learned not to enter a noblewoman’s bedroom without permission.
