23. Tsundere Prince

Translator: Antonia

The official was puzzled for a second and than believed it was His Highness’s order, so at once his admiration towards the Crown Prince’s wisdom and uprightness grew more. Without hesitation, he agreed and ordered a young soldier to fetch what was needed to build a tent next to Yuxing Tianrui’s.

Although Du Chuxuan was an intimate guard, the tent was set up equally careful and exquisite as Yuxing Tianrui’s, as if to make the game ‘spot the difference’.

“What do you think, Your Highness?” In less than a quarter, the tent was set. Du Chuxuan was too lazy to take a check and motioned as an approval. He turned around to leave, when he found Yang Guang was still there.

“General Yang. You don’t need to stay here to accompany me. Suit yourself to mind serious stuff.” That being said, Du Chuxuan wished this person would leave as soon as possible, because he didn’t want others to hear what he was going to say.

Fortunately, General Yang was good at reading expression and understood what Du Chuxuan meant immediately, “I’m leaving right now. Goodbye, Your Highness.”

Until this man walked away, Du Chuxuan couldn’t wait to tell the official, “Send my words to the kitchen that in the future prepare for me the same meals as others. Don’t do my food separately. I’ll just have what others do.”

Hearing this, the official liked Du Chuxuan much much more. He had heard people said that the Crown Princess cared about people. This was true, indeed.

His and Her Highness were newly married and in a sweet relationship. But His Highness should let his wife to live alone like all the others, while this princess wasn’t spoiled and requested to have the same food with the soldiers. What a great heroine she was!

Du Chuxuan had no idea that his desire for meat heightened his image in the official’s eyes. To Du Chuxuan, having the same food with others meant he could get more meat. If the kitchen kept giving him special dishes, his poop would turn green soon.

Getting the official’s assurance, he left the office happily. However, he found it embarrassed soon because he didn’t remember his way back without a person leading the way.

“Do you need any help, Your Highness?” He heard a playful voice from behind. Du Chuxuan turned and saw Yang Guang standing not far and half-smiling at him.

Somehow, his look made Du Chuxuan very uncomfortable. He made a grin and fought back his discomfort, “You’re still here, General Yang. I’m heading back but don’t know which road I should take. I guess I have to bother you again.”

“Don’t say so, Your Highness. It’s my pleasure.” Saying it, he walked more than naturally in front to lead the way.

On the way back, Du Chuxuan passed by the kitchen and smelled the fragrance of food, which instantly roused his appetite. Holy heaven. He had smelled meat. Finally, he got rid of Yuxing Tianrui’s tent and could eat in whatever way he liked.

However, the joy didn’t last long because he saw the very person he didn’t want to see before he even reached his own tent.

“Why are you here?” Du Chuxuan was taken aback as he suddenly spotted him. But at once, he realized how rude his question was and was going to apologize but at the thought of this man’s cold words, his temper prevented him.

Yuxing Tianrui slowly turned around and his eyes froze at the moment of seeing Yang Guang, “I just heard some noise outside and wondered why. I’m surprised to find out that my princess is going to build the tent in my yard.”

His tone was taunting and unpleasant to the ear. Du Chuxuan wanted to refute but discovered that his tent was really next to Yuxing Tianrui’s.

He then remembered that the sites of tents were chosen in advance, and the neighboring tents were arranged long ago. If he wanted a new tent now, it could only be built at the vacant space next to Yuxing Tianrui’s tent.

Yuxing Tianrui, knowing inside and out, didn’t stop her but stood here to wait for her to come back. The intention of teasing his princess was self-evident.

Biting his lips, Du Chuxuan finally found his voice, but Yuxing Tianrui snapped, “Ada went to the toilet, so it’s your turn to stand on duty. Follow me.”

Finishing it, Yuxing Tianrui ignored Yang Guang who was standing aside and turned away.

Du Chuxuan gave him an apologetic smile, “Thanks for today. Later I’ll treat you to wine.” Then, he quickly caught up with Yuxing Tianrui.

Despite his anger, he needed to save some dignity for Yuxing Tianrui anyway. Therefore, Yang Guang had no choice but to be wronged.

Yang Guang smiled and didn’t mind it. However, there appeared a trace of probing in his eyes, when the couple turned their backs to him. There seemed to be something wrong with the reputedly loving couple.

The Shenglan barracks wasn’t as peaceful as it appeared to be, was it?

“Are you familiar with Yang Guang?” Upon entering the tent, Yuxing Tianrui threw this question at Du Chuxuan and stretched his arms, facing the opposite and waiting for him to undress him.

Du Chuxuan’s eyes widened, “Your Highness. I’m merely an intimate guard now. This seems not one of my duties.”

Not getting an answer, Yuxing Tianrui pulled his face, motioned to let Du Chuxuan act quicker, “You care about him very much?”

Why was he being a child crying for sweet? Didn’t this man know that he was mad at him? How could this spoiled man ask the question so self-righteously that he in return became the one who had done a wrong thing?

Du Chuxuan pissed off, gritting his teeth and pulling the clothes hard off him. Yuxing Tianrui was strangled for a few times in the process but didn’t dare to say anything in view of Du Chuxuan’s sullen face.

Seeing he didn’t intend to answer his question, Yuxing Tianrui snorted and turned to lie onto the bed directly, “I’m sleeping now. You may go out and resume your duty on guard.”
